I love to run on treadmills as well as outdoors, these shoes are super comfortable and make running so much easier for me, the width is perfect and the style is super cute as well. Definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish shoe to workout in.

I started walking in these shoes right away. They have just the right amount of structure, and I can still feel the ground.

I am usually a Xero shoes fan but needed something with a little more protection for a backpacking trip. Haven't taken the trip yet but wearing on local trails it has been excellent so far! Can still feel the ground but has a little bit of support. Just right!

I noticed a lot of people unhappy with the width in heir reviews. I didn't have the superiors version before this one. I have a pair of Rivera's I wear to work. I'm usually between a size 8 and 8 1/2 but with Altra's I'm a size 9..to an extent (one time there was a pair huge on me).
They fit nice, I like the wide toe box which is why I choose altra's. I bought these for work thinking they were the color black with blue soles. The picture is quite deceiving on that. As to my surprise when opening the box, they are a dark blue with a couple black accents. I think altra should be more clear on what color the shoe is. I like them though and will make it work.

This was my first time trying the Superiors (or any trail running shoes), as I wanted something for walking trails with my dog. I was surprised by how tight they felt at first—so much so that they were quite uncomfortable to walk in. I even returned my first pair but decided to give them another shot. Turns out, removing the insoles made all the difference! Without them, the fit was perfect. I started by wearing them for neighborhood walks, and they felt great. I’ve only taken them on the trails once so far, but I had no issues. I’m not sure if all trail shoes fit this snugly, but if you find these too tight, try removing the insoles—it makes a huge difference!
I'd also recommend:

Our whole family loves Altras. It should be known that for people used to the instep freedom of a Lone Peak, the Superior has a stitching detail on the sides of the shoe toe box that restricts the ball of the foot more than the Lone Peak. The stitching makes the ball of the foot feel more snug than the Lone Peak. We have wider toe beds, and it wasn't as comfortable.

This is my second pair of superiors, though first of this generation. Generally I like them, but they feel weirdly tight over the center and middle of my foot, even with laces ~as loose as possible.

I have a narrow foot and loved the older Lone Peaks with little padding. This feels more like them. Lone Peaks 8 and all weather are now too wide for me in the mid-foot area, so I'm trying the men's Offroad to get adequate length and holding on to this one to see which fits best. I hate to give up the grippiness of the Lone Peaks, so only 4 stars. (I use them primarily for walking and hiking daily; older pairs become gardening shoes).

This product is a nice and light shoe for walking. I enjoy light bendable shoes versus heavy thicker shoes so I enjoyed that part. I shoe was too narrow for my feet and a bit smaller than my normal size. I had a pair of cotton ankle socks on and I had to take them off because the shoe was too tight. Compared to other shoes that a thin and light these were not my favorite. I would probably buy a different style of this shoe and size up in the future. Overall i give this shoe a 3.0 out of 5.

I went on multiple walks in these shoes for around 3-4 miles. They really did feel light and comfy on my feet. I think the toe area looks really wide, but I had plenty of room for my toes. They were different than my other shoes because of their light feel. I had to get used to them.

These shoes were in my regular size 9 but a little tight and the toe box was too shallow. They would probably work for someone's else's feet but I'd order a half size up.

I have had 2 other models of this shoe & loved these as my everyday & running shoe. Sadly Superior 6 gets sent back. Too narrow in the midfoot & the foot volume is too low, hurt my foot just standing

Am an Altra wearer for 5+ years, I know my size, and I love zero-drop shoes, but these did not meet my size expectations. They look great, they'd probably be great if they were sized properly. Sadly am returning these, but keeping the Provision 8's which did meet my expectations.

The other reviewers are absolutely right: these shoes fit perfectly except for across the top of the ball of my foot (not sure what that part of the foot is called). Way too tight there. I didn't want to go up a size because then the shoes would be too big lengthwise.

Not comfortable for my foot. Toe box wide enough though too shallow = tight feeling across top from ball of foot across arch. Loosening laces did not change or help. And loose heel.

I purchased the Altra Superior 6 to replace my Altra Superior 5 (which have been discontinued). Initially the toe box felt constricted and stiff. I thought/hoped they just needed to be broken in, but after logging many miles in these shoes, they're still stiff and my toes are blistered. I've never had a problem like this before. It's too bad because my other Altra shoes were so comfortable.

I really like these zero drop shoes, but the problem is that there’s hard plastic Inc into the top of the shoe where the laces tied together, which does make it uncomfortable and lack of room when your feet start to swell in hot weather. If these were all mesh, they would be hands-down, my favorite pair.

I agree they changed the design, however, after wearing them a week or so. I like the firm stability but do tie them loose to accommodate the tighter toe box. Hopefully, the 7 will be a bigger toe box.

I have owned 12 Altra shoes over the years (currently have 5, one for each sport / activity). Almost all have been Lone Peak, 5, 6, and 7. They have all been fantastic with a very similar fit, and perfect for my extremely wide toe box.
The Superior 6 was on sale, so I bought it. Love the color (green) and length is fine, but there is a strange feeling of tightness not at the end of the shoe, but at the first lowest lace area. Even with the lace completely loose there is an odd pinching sensation there.
I will still wear them, but not for anything serious.

The shoe felt more curved and wider in the toe box than my superior 4.5. I really like my shoes over the ones I tried on. I also like the material of my pair better too. I ended up not keeping the shoe. I also agree on the color choices. I'm not a big fan of any of the options.

The Superior has been my sole trail running shoe for nearly five years. I've trained and raced distances up to 100k in previous models (4, 4.5 and 5), which I found to be one of my favorite shoes of all time (trail or road). After reading previous reviews I was apprehensive about the changes to the Superior 6, but bought a pair to try out. I was extremely disappointed. The upper toe box is extremely fitted/tight, and the sole much more rigid than previous models. The foot space/flexibility that existed previously has been compromised with this new design, and I found the shoes to be extremely uncomfortable within 2 miles of running. Altra, please fix this! The 5 was spot on, from my perspective. I'll be shopping for whatever 5s I can still find. Thank you!

I was so excited for these sneakers. My last pair were the perfect running shoe, so why wouldn’t these be, same brand, same style?! I was wrong. Almost no support and what little bit was there is now gone. I’ve had them less than 3 months and jog only 4 days a week. Disappointing.
