I have flat feet and overpronate. My main challenge with shoes is finding a shoe where my pinky toes are not aggressively hitting the lateral side of the shoe based on my foot/ankle alignment and amount of pronation I experience. Most standard stability shoes do not work, although the Adrenaline did for a period of time with a custom orthotic. The Beast 18 was great, although the ankle collar frayed due to overpronation. The Beast 20 worked, although I had to train my toes to remain more stable to better accommodate a smaller toe box. The Beast GTS 23 does not do a good enough job centering my left foot in the shoe so that my pinky toe aggressively strikes the lateral side of the shoe, hence the one-star review. The top of the toe box on the right foot also bends into the big toe on push-off. I hope the Beast 20 is available long enough until the next Beast or Addiction iteration that hopefully will better center my left foot in the shoe.

The size, comfort and feel just aren't the same. These shoes used to be for pronators and not anymore. Highly recommend going back to the previous model and skipping this one.

After walking in this shoe for just one day, the material in the toes have permanently creased. Pretty disappointing for a shoe at this price point. See attached photo

I have been wearing Brooks Beast shoes for nearly 10 years. They were recommended to me by my podiatrist when I was suffering from plantar fasciitis issues. I also have wide feet and tend to overpronate and have had problems with my arches on and off for years. The Beast took care of all those problems and made running and walking a pleasure. Unfortunately, with the latest redesign, the new Beast GTS 23 is a complete disaster for me. After wearing them for several days, the problems kept growing and it became too painful to continue wearing them. The arch support has been completely altered and the balls of my feet feel totally uncushioned. The shoe feels narrower, and I also started to get extreme pain in my knees. It's so upsetting to now have to search for a new shoe after all these years of such a comfortable fit. It's a shame Brooks has ruined a perfectly great running/walking shoe.

I was wearing the Beast 20's for about 2 years because they're the only shoes I've found that help prevent my feet from pronating when I run. They discontinued them so I bought the beast 23's. These shoes have almost as little interior support as the Ghosts. The shoe buckles as my foot comes down and my ankle roles inwards. I had to stop after 6 miles because I was in too much pain.

The new beast 23 is one more step backwards! Beast 20 took the first step back vs Beast 18! New GTS shoe is flat out hard feeling on your feet, no impact cushioning with your gait, etc. so disappointed how you destroyed a great shoe.

I'm sorry, but these shoes are very disappointing. The 18s were the best running shoe I ever owned and I pushed them past 1300 miles waiting for the next shoe. The 20s didn't work for me. The 23s are very light, are narrower in the toe and tighter in the toe box than the 18s. The cushioning is poor. By my 3rd mile my big toes were sore and I had pain in the balls of my feet. My old 18s are more comfortable and supportive after 1300+ miles.

Great shoe, awesome support especially for over pronation. But brooks for the love of god. Please make some better color ways. You certainly wont please everyone, but a few simple additions would work wonders. A white shoe with different accent colors is sleek and has gotta sell a whole lot better than ALL black. Nursing shoes. However, I could be wrong! But I almost swayed away from the shoe entirely just because of the limited and weak color options. Thank goodness for the great support and past models being so great for my feet.

Have worn the beast ever since I was dx with degenerative disc disease and with herniated discs of my lumbar spine. That was about 20 years ago!! The beast is my go to shoe, and all of the other Brooks shoes with more cushion. I use the larger sized widths.

The support is what I needed from rolling left/right in a shoe. I have a stretched tendon and need a shoe with highest support. Very happy. Would like more color options with NON white soles. I purchased black on black.

Excellent shoe except for one thing. The toe mesh material on the top of the shoe should be more resistant to wear. My big toe (over time) makes the mesh part separate. Always the first thing to wear out.

This sneaker sucks - toes get jammed in the front.
