I just got back from a trip into California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona and took a pair of new Stinson's with me. I've been a big Speedgoat fan but these really did handle a wide variety of terrain better than anything I've tried so far. The wide base gave me traction in loose rock and scree, they were just grippy enough to scramble steep sandstone, and cushioned enough to keep sharp rock from hurting my feet. I begin to love the way my foot settled deep into the footbed keeping it stable in rugged off-trail situations. I soaked them a couple of times in deep canyon and was amazed at how fast they dried out and how well the performed wet. Climbing Wheeler Peak in Great Basin National Park, I got into snow and ice and again the wide grippy sole gave me the traction I needed and prevented falls. Hoka got it right with this one!

Tread is more aggressive. Heal snugger. Better suited for trail than previous versions. Would like to see more color selections.

This has been my favorite HOKA shoe yet. I've had three thus far and this one provides the best balance between support and confort.

I absolutely love these shoes! They're so comfortable and are great for any surface. I regularly run a 5 mile trail that includes some pavement - you don't even notice the difference due to how stable and comfortable they are. They fit perfectly and took very little time to break in. These have become my favorite shoes!!

These Hoka Stinson are awesome super comfortable with a very cushy sole to absorb shock, and they look fantastic.

I've just walked in them and I can tell they will be good for putting daily miles on. I was using the speedgoat 5 before, but now I'll just use those for races and these for my daily miles.

I have more pairs of Hokas than I care to admit (at least 15 pairs of Bondi 8s). However, I decided to give this style a try, because I loved the colors so much. I love them as much as the Bondi 8's (which is a lot!). I have fallen arches and very flexible ankles, prone to rolling, and I feel completely stable and supported in these Stinson 7's. Highly recommend! If you love Bondi 8's, you'll love this style too!

I walked 1,100 miles in my Stinson 6 and loved them, however the Stinson 7 is even better. I have 150 miles on the new ones. The wearing surface is aging nicely. The laces are just the right thickness. The heel cup seems a little more snug, in a nice way. It seems lighter also. The version 6 upper started to crack the little toe side around 400 miles so I've got my fingers crossed for this version 7. It does look crafted differently. I really like this shoe and if you were a fan of the Stinson 6, this is highly recommended.

The Stinson 7 is the best trail running shoe that I have ever had; it is great for both trail runs and also
street running.

I love the color but wish it was available in wide sizes. My laces seem short as they are loose due to being D, not EE. I like to double knot my laces.

This is a very comfortable shoe. I primarily use Stinson's for walking and the new Stinson works very well.

I like to do hiking, and these shoes are fabulous in walking and climbing like a feather, and also before I have these shoes had a back pain, for months after I bought the shoes and wear them every day, I fell way way better, definitely buying HOKA again

I ordered to Stinson 7 shoes to use while playing golf. I'm a senior golfer who wants to walk on the course while playing for the benefits of exercise (sorry, but jogging is just way too boring & hard on the knees). I love the Bondi 9 shoes but there's not enough grip on the bottom of the soles for correct weight transfer required in a good golf swing. Although not near as comfortable as the Bondi 9, the Stinson 7 does have small "cleats" on the sole of the shoe, particularly on the outside edges where ground stability & grip are of paramount importance. Since HOKA does not make a golf shoe (not yet, anyway....hint, hint) I'm using the Stinson 7 as a substitute for "real" golf shoes. Most golf shoe manufacturers are not as aware as HOKA when it comes to arch support & cushioning for walking over-50 aged golfers. Again, while not perfect (hence, the 4-star review) for golf, the Stinson 7 is better than most golf shoes for walking 18 holes (about 5-6 miles).

I'm still giving a four because this is a great shoe however it is nowhere near as plush as the Stinson 6. I do like the fact that they extended the tongue because that was a major complaint on version 6 but this just is not the same shoe from a cushioning standpoint.

I bought the Stinson 7 at D#### because I could only order the awesome color through them and not on the Hoka website. These shoes do seem to be wider than your typical Hoka, Even though the shoe doesn't come in a wide size. I was pleasantly surprised as I had to give up on Hokas for a couple years.
I wore these shoes for 2.5 days in the house and found them to be comfortable! So I started wearing them at work. My feet were a little uncomfortable at my fifth metheads on day 1, but I didn't give it much thought. On day two, my feet were feeling squeezed and my met-heads were painful. The next morning, they were still red. I just found this to be a bit bizarre. I thought it was from the harder trim on the side of the shoe but when I stick my finger in the shoe I felt a pretty flat but slightly ridged (?) seam where my pain was occurring. The seems were located at the whitest part of the shoe where my met heads were located. Today I wore my old and worn shoes from another brand and had no pain. Not sure when I'm going to do! Since I've worn them in and out of work I don't think I can return them but it is a very costly problem to have. My foot is a little bit wider so I wear men's shoes. If you don't have that issue, I do highly recommend these shoes! They appear to be a good quality and generally comfortable, the laces are long enough and don't come undone and the tongue stays in place.

I bought these Stinson 7s for their more rigid forefoot rocker, and aggressive sole. It's one of the few shoes that I don't have to insert carbon or fiberglass inserts under the insoles to keep my big toe from flexing upward with every step. Generally, it seems like a good orthopedic shoe for those that need stabilization in the forefoot area. I went up a half size as well, to accommodate my excessive bone around the 1st metatarsal phalangeal joint. Living in the mountains, I need an aggressive sole for outdoor year round use. They are very comfortable, and if they get more flexible with time, I'll put some inserts in. The only thing that is not ideal for me, is that the tongue is to thin and not stiff. I need to adapt my shoes as slip ons, and this tongue slides down and bunches up when used this way when I insert my foot. I modified this problem with a sewing awl, by sewing the upper tongue to each side of the shoe. Works great.

I like these shoes for me, but unless you're a very large human like myself, you might not like them. They are huge and heavy, it feels like you're wearing low top hiking boots. I use them for hiking/walking on dirt roads and trails, some jogging at times. Not a nimble shoe, and they look a little dorky.

First Hoka’s. Most shoes I’m a 9.5, glad I got a 10 with these. Just right. They are large sneakers. Bulky, but not heavy. Very comfortable. I like them a lot.

From the moment I first put them on, I thought they would be a great shoe to wear day to day. Lightweight and sturdy with good feel underfoot, I was beginning to like them. I put them on the second day, and my knees and ankles begin to hurt as I started walking. I read that this was a stability shoe, but it did not feel like it. In general, it was a good shoe, just not for me.

I purchased these upon a recommendation from my Doctor, who claimed HOKA trail running shoes were the best for over pronation and Plantar Fasciitis. He was right! These shoes have the best support of the many I've tried. (These are better than Brooks-Beast.) However, my Dr was also right when he mentioned their limited life span. I am several weeks into owner ship with a little under 40 walking miles (pavement and sidewalk/concrete) and the bottom soles towards the front-center show significant wear. Probably the quickest wearing sneaker I'ver ever purchased. While I understand the premium price and short lifespan for what is arguably the best-in-class supportive shoe, I'd still like to see improvements made to increase durability without compromising comfort/support.
