I have been running with Gel Kayano for 19 years now. I buy the new model every year, and never had a complaint. Always loved the shoes, the fit, the feeling. No idea what they did with this new model but they hurt the bottom of my foot as if someone had lit a lighter under them. I might as well run barefoot. And it's not just after a long run, it hurts in the first mile. Only time it feels OK is uphill so my guess it has to do with the heel or arch support. I tried to swap the in sole with superfeet but did nothing to improve. I am sad to say I am leaving the Asics family.

I bought these shoes a month ago and have run 40 miles in them so far. I really needed shoes with stability and padding. The ASIC Gel-Kayano 30 shoes are perfect for what I needed. There is so much cushion that it fells comfortable running in them. Also, when I start getting fatigued and my form starts to weaken, I feel the broad platform really helps stabilize my foot strike.

I've had injuries and subsequent surgeries and because of this the only shoe that works for me is the Gel Kayano. I've been wearing the Kayano for 28 years straight and find the Kayano 30 the best version yet. In the past you had to sacrifice some comfort for stability, but the newest version with the 4-D guidance system and the extra stack height allows for gentle pronation correction with extra cushioning. I highly recommend this shoe for mid-weight to heavier runners looking for a stable, well cushioned (but supportive) midsole.

Positive change from the K29 to the K30. I used the newest Nimbus but was having issues over pronating. Months later the K30 was released. Def feel more stable, it’s very plush and comfortable. The upper is comfortable as well. Def great for logging miles.

Feels like walking on clouds. lots of stability although it does make for a wide shoe. i have a HARD time finding shoes to fit (men's 4E) and i usually return many pairs to find one i like. this is the one. i don't even feel like i need my custom orthotic in this shoe

These shoes are really comfortable, I use these for work at the hospital and they are very comfortable for walking around the building. My only concern is that the shoes are very wide on the bottom where the cushion is so be mindful of where you walk. I'd definitely recommend these shoes for work or for fitness

40 years old 185 lbs male, run around 20 miles/week. I'm on my ninth generation of Kayano's and these are my favorite. For me, the 28's lacked cushion and the 29's lacked stability. Both of these issues are resolved in the 30's - offering a well cushioned shoe that is also stable for an overpronator such as myself. Kayano 30's also seem as if not more responsive than prior iterations.

I bought this new Kayano when it first came out because I am interesting in the 4D guidance approach to stability, rather than a medial post. The shoe now guides you towards running through the center of your foot, rather then pushing you towards center mass with dense foam underneath your arch. It still supports your pronation, but uses a wider base and a thicker sidewall to hold your foot up. Similar to that of Hoka or Brooks shoes, but I like the Asics way the most so far. The shoe has been great. Contrary to other reviews I do not have an issue with the sizing, I can run in 11.5, but get 12's because I get ingrowns and it fits as I'd hope. The cushioning is fantastic, the stability is not what it used to be, it is definitely less aggressive now, but that is the goal and it still does the job well. I 100% recommend this shoe to runners looking for some stability in their shoes, but it is no longer going to support those with more severe pronation as much as they want and is moving away from what many walkers in my store tend to ask for. Unfortunately this is the future of running shoes (following Hoka's footsteps to be honest), so if you don't like it grab the Kayano 29 asap. The rocker has felt great on my runs, the cushion is soft and dense which I love, and the fit is very consistent arch wise and width wise for Asics (a touch narrower in the heel, but roomy toe box similar to Brooks). It has felt great for anything from speed work to my longer runs, though those are only 6 miles right now. Great shoe, but if you are not sure, go to your local running store and try it on if you can.

Been a Kayano fan for years. Very different from the Kayano 29, but for all the right reasons. Soft, stable, with a super smooth ride. I love it!

They run fine. But they're not real Kayanos. Don't fool yourself into thinking they are. They're comfortable to run in but when you hit the mileage that you start to fatigue, be ready to clip your ankles with the massive soles. The shoes are clunky, unattractive monsters that lack the sleek simplicity of every other model of kayano. I'm disappointed and if I handbrake had a coupon discount I wouldn't have bought them. If this is how they remain, I'm going to have to migrate to another shoe company.

Gel kayano 28 was terrific, kayano 29 not so much—-and these kayano 30 really terrible with much too prominent arch pushing up uncomfortably.

The shoe fits perfectly at 12D. The gel cushion that runs the entire length of the shoe really mitigates the impact of a 200lb man walking. I will be buying more at this price all day long. I was able to buy my wife a pair as well and she never knew running shoes could be so comfortable.
I'd also recommend:
Nike Air Max...but they don't last as long as the Asics Kayano.

The width of the sole is slightly wider & longer than a prior model. Otherwise, same consistent comfort & fit. Overall, a great shoe, which is why I keep getting the same model.

Huge Heal, but fits well. Wish it had a shoe horn tab on the back like the other shoes from Asics do.

Great fit and comfort. Much better than Hoka Bondi 8 which were bulky and not supportive of side foot.

Light, good air flow, and quite a lot of cushioning. My favorite pair of G-K30 yet! Seriously, I forget I have them on. Took me a while to get use to the big heel, but it's such a nice shoe, you gotta get the cushioning somehow. I'm no waif either, 275 lbs. is a lot to cushion, and I know it. Great shoe, get it and enjoy.
