Perfect upper and shape with excellent lock down. Midsole has the perfect blend of flexibility, cushion, and rebound. Low stack aids in providing the right amount of stability, unlike the high stack cushioned shoes that become so stiff. I'm a 225 pound runner and these shoes are holding up really well. Foam feels same as day one after 250 miles. These are now my daily trainer and my half marathon racing shoes.

The original cyclone had some bold ideas but fell way short. However, the cyclone 2 took no prisoners in taking every drawback head-on.
Comfort: 5/5, surprising for how light it is. Heel and tongue have enough padding to where I would say it is the most comfortable show in my lineup now even though there isn't excess plush or material. They nailed it on the pebax too, it has rebound and is softer than the oebax core the specter experimented with. A perfect blend of cushion and rebound.
Forefoot well ventilated. Laces could maybe be an inch longer since I tie funky and secure knots. Tread is same as specter-top notch and long lasting despite how minimalistic it may appear.
Mid foot snug, toe box and heel both on the wider side. I would not say the heel is loose as there was no real slippage, but it gave a nice feeling of not locking down while still staying in place for me. Which was weird but appreciated since I am recovering from some nasty blisters, and it didn't bother them while also not slipping around. So this heel counter is a 10/10 in my book.
Super stable and fun to run downhills at a sub 6 pace, these shoes seek to be good at any pace but to excel at quick turnover.
This shoe is gold. It does exactly what it was meant to do and then some. Short to mid, faster training runs, while keeping natural foot strength and motion. Possibly even a 5k or even 10k racer, and I would have no problems taking it out for 8-10 mile training runs. Thanks for listening to all the reviews on the cyclone 1- this update is a keeper! My only thoughts would be to model the specter after it as a longer distance counterpart since the specter as is has too firm of a ride.
Trainer/racer. Please please pleSe don't change this shoe- I am picky as can be so me saying this shoe is virtually perfect is something I almost never do, but it's true!

I've been wearing the cyclone 2's off and on for about 8 months, but over the past 3 have began a marathon build. As someone who has been running competitively for almost 10 years, I hope it means a lot when I say these are the best shoes I have ever owned. I feel like i'm running on a airport conveyor belt, regardless if it's an easy run or tempo on the treadmill. I did start to get some tearing in the medial upper, but I have a few hundred miles in them so no worries. Love!!!!!!

I loved these shoes. I suffered from ankle pain Achilles pain and shin splints with my high stability 18mm drop shoes, and I eased into these and my pain has disappeared, and my running form has only gotten better.

After 2-3 mths of use and my review above, I keep going back to it. Not a big "rotation" runner, but every day I'm looking at an ASICS Evoride speed, an adios 8, an ASICS noosa tri 14, and the topo cyclone. The cyclone just fits and feels the best - from step-in to step-out. In fact, it feels good enough i initially asked, ".. is this really for serious mileage."
Only suggestion. I don't know - maybe ~ 2 mm more stack? Even this isn't really necessary. I do have extra forefoot room for my duck-foot, but I like it that way. Bottom line: no complaints.

Man I love this model and I have run in several other Topos happily. 375+miles and going strong which is surprising as they are built so lightly with such a slim outsole. Use them on a range of surfaces from road to gravel to light trails to track to beach. Comfortable at all distances and speeds and they really open up sub 8 minute pace almost like a plated shoe. Great bounce and ground feel, just a pleasure in every way... I just ordered a second pair. Topo - can I look forward to some new colorways on this model for my third pair???

I'm a mountain runner who puts most of my miles in on the Runventure 4, Pursuit, and MTN Racer 3, usually on fairly technical and sloppy terrain. When I do get a chance to run roads I like to try and run them fast and this shoe is perfect for that purpose. The Pebax midsole is wonderfully springy, even after 100 miles. The shoe fits me rather well, though I do have a somewhat narrow foot and I could see especially wide feet being an issue. The rocker is also great for going fast but makes them not well suited for an every day shoe as it feels like I'm missing cushioning under the back of my heel. If you're actually running, though, you don't notice this at all. All in all, this shoe comes highly recommended for someone looking to run fast at a fair price.

This is probably one of the best Topos yet. Although very light and springy, there is certainly enough cushion and support for my money to use this shoe for longer runs and races. Usually I regard a 7 oz. shoe as suitable for a 5K or 10K, but this shoe is so comfortable that longer runs will be in the mix too.

So lightweight and comfortable! Perfect shoe for speed workouts - especially if you don’t want a plated shoe. Please make more colorways, Topo!!

Hi Topo Design Team - please disregard the most liked negative review on this site -- this all up to individual differences, but PLEASE do not start narrowing your line. Maybe offer a "narrow" version with limited runs as how us with wide feet get relegated to terrible offerings for wide versions in all the narrow brands. This shoe fits PERFECT for wide feet, please don't change, please please please. Thank you! Love it, ultralight and amazing.

This is an incredibly lightweight shoe that can comfortably do moderate distances without any issues. Topo has a real winner with the Cyclone 2. Would buy again!

After trying on countless shoes from Hoka, Brooks, Asics, New Balance and more these shoes are the perfect fit for my wide toe and lower arch.
The Pebax makes this shoe not only light but fun to walk/run. The upper is fantastic as well.
Highly recommended!

The Cyclone 2 is a great improvement form the Cyclone 1, BUT, they run big. I wear a size 10 in every other version of Topo's that I own, but my foot felt like it was floating in this shoe at a size 10. Love the color and the foot feel of these. They are VERY light.

Kofuzi on YouTube said it best. If this shoe had a different logo on it, it would be shoe of the year. Super awesome shoe, Topo! My only complain is more colors please!

FINALLY, a fast, lightweight, superb midsole, top end upper, secure fit, THAT FITS MY TOES! Amazing job TOPO, you nailed! I was waiting for this shoe, since Believe In The Run vlog at 2022 Running Event show. Ooh, and the colorway, so sick! Thank you.

This version was what I was hoping for in the first version of the Cyclone (I think there's been two?). It's definitely a fast shoe that also has a decent amount of cushioning and road feel. For speed workouts and runs that don't go longer than 90 minutes or so, these are great shoes.

Perfect fit. Heel structure perfect for me as a person with chronic Achilles problems. So fun: responsive, feels great at daily pace all the way to fast intervals on track. I weigh 185 and used on a bunch of 8-12 mile runs at 730-8:00 pace this summer. Great! This is a top 5 shoe I've ever worn.
The shoe deserves a 5/5 performance rating. Durability deserves a 3/5. The outsole rubber started peeling off recently and I've developed holes in the upper. I expect this is somewhere around 200 miles in the shoe but can't say for certain. (To be fair I am very hard on shoes so lighter/more nimble individuals should be fine).
I will buy more. Topo please leave the shoe as is other than outsole durability mod! I think it would be cool for a trail shoe from topo to have this same heel structure for people with haglunds/Achilles issues.

Good shoe when I ran by myself but I never got used to the rockover. On crowned roads or uneven shoulders it springs you back at the angle of the pavement - so if the ground is uneven you get weird off-axis pushback from the shoe. I usually run with my kiddo who uses a Hoyt running wheelchair. The rockover didn't work at all with the push chair and hills. Picture is 200 miles. Overall it worked when running on smooth surfaces by myself but I'm going back to Ultraflys.

The quality, fit and finish of these shoes is great. My only issue is with the stiffness and height of the collar. It digs into my right ankle a bit. Not enough to make me stop wearing them though as they are very comfortable otherwise. Obviously, its just an issue with me, but something to think about for anybody who prefers a flexible or low collar.

I have been running for about 30 years and now am slowing down due to an accumulation of injuries. Almost all of my running is asphalt or concrete. I really love the Topo design and have tried the magna fly, ultra fly, and the fly lites. My major problem has been heel slippageno matter how I tie my laces my foot feels like there is more movement in the shoe than I want. I tried the Cyclone 2 kind of on accident (clearance deal at a local store). They felt really good on my foot. I went down from a 10.5 (what I usually wear) to a 10 and my toes are fine. These grab my heel really well. I was concerned about the durability due to what seems like you are just running around on styrafoam, but they have held up really well. I am 6 months into my first pair and still use them regularly for walking. My only problem with them is if I am on any wet surface it sounds like I am soaking up a bunch of water. I will definitely continue in these as long as Topo keeps the same feel. The Cyclone is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever run in, and has kept the feel of good support for the duration of the shoe.

Great stretch upper and super lightweight. The Pebax sole has great energy return. This is nearly the perfect shoe but I couldn't get over the 5mm drop. Wish it was 3mm max, would love to see a zero drop Pebax sole shoe though.

I've only put 20-30 miles on these, so I won't speak on longevity. I've used Topo's years ago but honestly forgot about them. I'm glad I found them again!! My foot isn't large (9.5) but my forefoot is wide and always getting cramped! I wear combat boots everyday and finding Topo helped me find comfort in a running shoe again without quite as much expense as other foot shaped brands.

I have been running in Topos for 4 years, maybe 5 now. Magnifly and Ultrafly are my go-to shoes, have 4 of each. And a pair of Mtn Racers, two Ultraventures, ST2, and Revive. Love the fit, the feel, the comfort all around. Unfortunately this fit and feel does not come through in the new Cyclone. The shoe is too narrow and too long. Its for sure light and the cushion feels great. But the squished midfoot and long, narrow toe box doesn't work for me. I'll stick with Ultrafly for quick runs. If you don't have to worry about truly wide feet, give it a shot.

I've been using these in training trying to set a 10K PR and I have to say that I LOVE running in them. Straight out of the box, when I saw how thin the tread was I thought I would wear through it in no time but is has held up spectacularly well. Even after 180+ miles on them, I can still see the Topo logo and even the texturing on the majority of the sole. I can't say the same about the uppers however. Both shoes developed holes on the inner part of the shoe the first month (< 100 miles)
