These boots were delivered less than 48 hours after I ordered them! They look exactly as I anticipated. The leather is soft and supple. There isn't any stiffness to the boot. I decided to wear them the next day. I had difficulty pulling up the zipper once I had the boot on. I am not sure whether to blame this on my thick socks (the actual temperature outside was -2; I wasn't going without my warm socks!) or my arthritic fingers or the boot itself but, once I got it zipped the first 2-ish inches, it zipped smoothly. I wore them comfortably for 11 hours. I had concerns when ordering because my ankles are on the thicker side and I have muscular calves. I ordered anyway because Zappos has a worry free returns policy. Fortunately, I didn't have to use it! No rubbing or tightness around the ankles or calves! Yay! I recommend! The footbed is padded and feels as if it has a bit of arch support when I run my hand across it. For reference, I ordered size 11, M in black. I wore them with leggings and a thick, cable knit sweater...CUTE!!! We have snow and ice currently on the ground here...no slipping and sliding for me in these! One big reason I ordered them is the lug sole...this old granny doesn't need to be slipping and breaking bones! Another is the style! I recommend these to younger and older women.

I feel that quality and look are good. I have slender feet and usually wear 9.5, but these boots are a little big even with thicker socks.

Leather on the upper is so soft, I could see where my toes were. Also, zippers on back are still and hard to manage. I ordered two pair (in two sizes); on one of the pair, the rubber trim was visibly misaligned, or starting to come unglued.
