The Cresta wool zip top is comfortable and warm in cold temperatures. It did not shrink in the wash and drier

Perfect material and fit. Have used synthetics and silk over the years, but nothing beats Merino.

When it's sub freezing, I wear this as a solo layer running or as a base layer when less active. It's soft, warm, breathes well, and doesn't stink.

My 5 star rating is based on one I ordered a few years ago. The current version runs small. I bought a medium a few years ago. Wore it a lot. Needed a new one so I ordered a medium again. It was too tight (way to tight). Hard to understand why LL Bean would change their pattern. I exchanged it for a large. Hoping it fits.

Exceptional product. Base layers are one of the staples of being comfortable in many outdoor activities and this garment has become a must include for my adventures!

Excellent base layer. I run in it and layer up. Body sweat moisture quickly evaporates off your body into the shirt and then into the second layer. This really helps in colder temperatures when staying dry is key. I would also recommend as a base layer if you are skinning or exerting a lot of energy and working up a sweat.

Well built fits great. Very warm mid layer a bit scratchy if it against your skin wear a moisture wicking base layer. Wool will last for years, will be purchasing a few more. I was looking a warm light weight layers for backpacking.

Fantastic piece of layering. I got it to go on a hike in the ADK during fall and it kept me warm in 40 degree weather and dried very quickly when I got overheated. I've used it for layering underneath ski jackets and used it while hunting and been warm all day

I have two of the crew neck versions that I use for fall and winter cycling. Got the 1/4 zip for fall running. Find myself wearing it all the time. Love the feel, love the fit. As expected, great quality from LL Bean.

Similar to the functional Ridge Runner quarter zip top that LBB carried several years ago. Comfortable Raglan sleeves and contrasting stitching make this adaptable top both stylish and practicable. It can serve as a base layer under a sweater with the high collar up for comfort or as a warm, stylish top by itself. Two thumbs up.

This is a great base layer; fits snugly without being constrictive, long enough to stay tucked in during vigorous activity and very warm when worn during exercise (cycling). The thumb holes insure the sleeves stay in place when reaching forward on my handlebars and also prevents the sleeves from bunching up when I put on my outer layer. Even though I live in South Carolina, I suspect I will get my money's worth over several seasons of wear.
