I had a pair of all weather Lone Peaks that started leaking a little after a year, after not much use. It was just past REIs return policy, but little did I know that Altra's return policy is good for approximate miles worn and I was way under that. They actually reached out to ME when I complained on the website that my boots failed shortly after one year. And they sent me a replacement pair which are much better looking than the pair that went bad, and so far are working great. I love how comfortable this boot is. Thank you Altra for standing by your product and making sure your customers get what they paid for!

I have had these for a couple of months and been on many hikes in wooded, rocky terrain on the East coast. I have now been hiking up trails in deep snow in Colorado (with exo-spikes) and am amazed that my feet have remained warm and toasty and dry. My feet like the comfort and fit a lot. They have held up well in mud, snow and wet weather.

I wear these hiking on dirt, granite and fire roads- from 2 to 8 miles daily. Adapting to zero drop was interesting - they make my traditional hiking boots feel like cement blocks- or what I imagine cement blocks feel like. So appreciate feeling the trail beneath my feet and so lite weight. Great all- weather in northern CA. After 12 or so months the soles are wearing thin so will be demoted to garden work and beach walking. Getting another All-weather pair.

This is my second pair of Altra's Lone Peak. The first pair I hiked in almost every day for two years until I wore them out. I will be a customer and fan for life. On a side note, I personally like to size up to accommodate for thicker socks.

Great love Altras. All weather does make fabric “pop” when walking but not a deal breaker for me.

I just received my 8.5 Altra Lone Peak All Weather shoes. They fit comfortably right out of the box. My first 2 mile hike in the woods in 34 degree wet, cold Michigan drizzle was great. I have a high arch and need depth in a shoe that is roomy over the top of my foot and toes. The widest part of my foot is 4 inches across the ball of my foot. Some arthritis. These shoes are high quality, soft but supportive and super cute. Definitely stay dry in rain. Wonderful toe room:). Tried many good brands and these won hands down for daily hiking, medium terrain in all weather.

They work fine for me on workdays when I am out on the Redwood Forest trails. do make a popping sound from the material when I walk. Tongue and laces are great.

I received these 3 days before a 4 day, 45 mile backpacking trip to Havasupai Falls. That hike is notorious for chewing up feet and I had no break-in period. I put my inserts in straight over the altra inserts and wore a pair of toe socks with hiking socks over them. I had absolutely no foot problems. Which was good because I used all my moleskin doctoring everyone else's feet.

These were great upon delivery. I was able to walk in them in comfort. However, as I continued to hike/walk, the seam on the inside of the right shoe began to rub painfully on my ankle bone. I tried to adjust it to no avail. They are too dirty to return so I may have just wasted $180. So sad as I really wanted to like these.

I love Altra shoes. I have the LP trail runners, LP non waterproof boots, and Torin shoes. I want some waterproof boots for winter. These were comfortable except the ankles. I think the seams are defective. It digs in right above my ankle but forward a little. I hope I can find WP boots this comfortable without that seam, or whatever it is. I hiked one time, 5 miles. I had to return them. I don’t know if they were waterproof, I didn’t get to test that. But they were very warm.

There was a seam inside that felt like the edge of cardboard rubbing my ankles. Otherwise I loved these. So disappointed. I hope they fix the seam issue. Other reviewers said the same thing. I returned them after wearing around my house for hours over 2 days. The seams hurt but the rest of the shoe was perfect.

I was so excited for these boots; however, there is almost nothing between the shoe lace hooks and your ankle. Just a brief walk around the store left my ankles in pain. If the hooks had different placement or better structure/cushion, these would be amazing.

I walked 3-4 miles per day for 6 consecutive days and ended up in the ER with extremely painful spasms in my low back and glute. If you are older and accustomed to a traditional shoe with a raised heel profile, proceed with caution. The shoes have a great toe box and feel comfortable-but zero drop didn't work for me.

great shoe, great traction, just wish that they were more waterproof. Now i have to re treat myself after a week of use because feet were getting soaked in very little rain

I'm sorry to agree with the other posters that the ankle seam is poorly placed and rubs right on the bony ankle joint unless you leave the top laces very loose. Shoe runs short, even for Altras. Had to return.

When I first tried these shoes, they felt very comfortable and lightweight. However, when I wore them on a hike and properly laced them, I realized that there's a part that grinds against the ankles. I tried tying the shoes looser to no avail. Wearing them for a full hike results in bruised ankles! These shoes are otherwise very comfortable, but the pain makes them impossible to wear for a long time. DO NOT BUY!

Wanted to love these boots. The ankle stitching is bad and my left ankle rubs so badly it bruises and hurts. It's only alleviated if I don't use the ankle laces which was the whole point of a boot, for ankle support. Poorly made. Do not recommend.

These are the first zero drop shoes I've had. I loved the fact that they are zero drop and with arthritis in my feet the extra wide toe area feels great. The issue I have is they rubbed my ankles and the one seemed to have an issue where it was sewn by the tongue. I ordered a pair of the lower shoes in hoping they fit better.

I bought these Altra boots because everyone in my family is obsessed with Altra boots so I wanted to try them. I could barely stand the two hikes I did in these because of how much the arches of my feet hurt. There was a severe pulling sensation on the outsides of my feet because I have high arches and these provide little to no support. If you have flat feet, these could be a great boot for you, I do know that many others have success with these shoes, but I would not recommend wearing them without insoles if you have a high arch by any means.

I wore these for 15 minutes and they bruised my ankle. Can't find receipt or would try to return. Need mid waterproof for a big upcoming trip but will have to wear old non-waterproof since Olympus don't have good reviews either. I have bought at least a dozen pair of Altras and these are the first real disappointment. Waste of money.

I liked everything about these shoes except Altra's Balanced Cushioning, which seems to make the back of my heels, calves, and hamstrings do more work than my glutes. I tried these out on an easy 9.2 mile, 1700 feet elevation gain morning hike to see how they felt. I am naturally prone to overly tight calf and hamstring muscles, so my PT recommended that I wear running shoes that have a slightly lower forefoot than heel (I didn't realize it would be the same for hiking until I wore these boots). I'm wondering if there's an insole available that would elevate my heel inside the boot by 1/4"? Or if Atra has any hiking options other than the Balanced Cushion? Other than that issue, I really liked this boot and yes, the Grizzly kept on moving after checking me out twice.

Why did Altra designers have to make one of their few less ugly color combinations (black too with black sole) less useful for their purpose (white sole again, really?) which will ultimately make them look dirty and ratty in no time.

I FINALLY found the perfect boot! I've always had issues with hiking boots being too stiff / having too narrow of a toe box, and these boots solve both of those problems. I used to get blisters all the time and I haven't gotten a single blister in these, even on multi-week backpacking trips. Thru-hikers are all about the lone peak trail runners, but I find that those don't offer enough ankle support, which this boot also solves for - think of these as the sturdier cousin to the ultralight trail runners with added ankle support. They're water resistant to a point but also dry quickly so it's not really an issue. I've taken these on countless hikes, backpacking trips, and now I'm hiking the PCT in them and I couldn't be happier!! Please never discontinue these :)

Absolutely love the All Weather Lone Peak Mid for snowy runs/dog walks/hikes. I do wear wool socks as there is limited insulation but that also makes the shoe more pliable. The flexibility is great for ankle and tarsal mobility. The limited insulation also makes this shoe great for spring, summer, and fall.
