I've developed bunions, flat feet, over-pronation, and I have a greek toe and was experiencing terrible pain that precluded me from doing all the things that are important to me. A trip to a podiatrist, a shot in my left foot, and the recommendation to always wear shoes/sandals with all the supports. Once the shot worked and the terrible pain subsided by using inserts, I purchased these shoes and took them to my hip-hop dance class (yep, hip-hop, I'm 53 years old and this is a recent hobby!) and I was able to get through that class with ZERO pain or residual pain. I'm saving these shoes for indoor workouts and dance class and will probably buy more to wear outside as regular footwear.

I run/walk in this Altra. My last one was 1/2 size larger so i was a little concerned. No reason ... they fit great. A little "squeaky" at first, but that seems to have gone away

I have the Provision 6 and wanted to try out the 7. As others have said they are now true to size (I had to size down to 8.5 in the 6 version but am a 9 in these). Soles are nice and grippy and the toe box is comfortable as always.

Usually when u buy a pair of running shoes I have to break them in. As soon as I tried these shoes on they were perfect. A wide toe box for instant comfort and the grip for trail running was awesome. I think i just found my new favorite pair of running shoes. I highly recommend.

The cushion on the bottom of the shoes is amazing. I have walked in them, ran in them, lifted weights in them, and have done cardio workouts in them. These shoes are comfortable. I, also, have sensitive heels and these shoes do not rub them or irritate them. The shoes feel true to size. These are great workout shoes, walking shoes, and running shoes.

I love these shoes so much I will get it in all colors . I am a believer now. I will get it for everyday use. The cushion is so great for my knees. Running is great I just don't love the impact. I get no knee pain and don't have to worry about shin splits either. The shoes are not "stylish" but functional. They do not feel heavy. I feel like I am running on clouds. I have put over 40 miles on these shoes and they do not require to be "broken in' like other shoes.

These shoes are super comfortable. I am usually really picky about my gym shoes. I've stuck with the same shoes for many years, even trying new shoes every couple months, but never finding a good pair. These shoes were the exception! They were so comfortable from the first minute I put them on. I thought they might be too big when I tried them on, but I was wrong. They fit perfectly and felt true to size. They were super comfortable and had great support. They seemed to have a great sole, which absorbed tons of shock as I was walking and running. When I unboxed them, I thought they were not "trendy" but when I put them on I got so many compliments. Everyone who I saw said they loved the look of them. Except no one asked me if they made me run super fast :( Over all I would recommend these shoes! Super comfortable lots of support awesome shoes

After trial and error with various running shoe brands and various Altra styles, I have finally found a shoe that fits and works for me. I've been training for my first marathon; clocking miles on the pavement, gravel trails, and icy paths have been hard on my body. Once I switched to these provisions, any pain I had from running went away! There is the perfect amount of space in the toe box, the cushion in the shoe isn't over the top but is just enough for hard surface running, and my high arches never ache in these shoes. I wish there were better color options, but the orange ones look really sweet!

Super happy with the Provision 7s. Love the orange color! I wear the Timp 4s for trails and needed a good road shoe to add to my lineup. Super comfortable cushion and toe box. Altra4ever

These shoes are super comfortable and lightweight. I used it for walking and never felt any soreness or pain in my feet. I also used these during my last trimester and they helped me walk with ease. I would recommend it and will definitely buy some different designs. I have dusty pink which look super cool and adorable. I also got so many compliments

I am an avid runner that has tried MANY different running shoes that fall short of expectations until I tried Altra Women's Provision. With each step you take, it launches you in a forward momentum almost like a spring! Both my hips and knees feel significantly better because the shoe works in a way that encourages proper alignment. Also wanted to mention that the shoes are flexible, lightweight, and most importantly comfortable on different types of running terrains, especially on concrete. Could not recommend Altra enough! I'm buying more in different colors.

I have narrow feelings from heel to toe and so I usually don't reach for Altra. Overall, I'm really impressed by the fit of these shoes given that Alteas tend to run wide and not fit my foot well. The shoe is clearly engineered to fit a variety of foot shapes as advertised. The heel and toe box fit amazingly and, for me, these are great for walking or running errands but they just aren't narrow enough through my arch/mid-foot to be supportive enough for running. I am flat footed so this is critical for me personally. I found my arches collapsing too much during my run leading to some knee discomfort by the end. However, the support is great for lower impact activities and these have become my go-to walking and day-to-day sneakers. I also love the color and design and could see great potential for additional colors.

I have been wearing Provision 6 with great success. The Provision 7 has a much tighter toe box, so tight that I am unable to wear them and have given them to someone with smaller feet.

Best running shoe I have ever owned. My first run in these was 8 miles with total foot comfort and less leg fatigue than other shoes. They have a slight rock forward in the toe that I love and haven't seen in other zero drop shoes. After using these for a couple weeks I bought another pair to stash in my closet.

I love Altra shoes. The wide toe box is a must. This style was not as comfortable on arthritic feet as the viva Olympus.

This is my first purchase of Altra shoes and I really love them —- very comfortable. I have a corn problem between my toes and these being wide in the toe area is great. I ordered my normal size of 10 and I wear orthotics because of high arches. My insert works well underneath the removeable one. Great purchase will buy again in black.

Amazing comfort: wide toe box allows spread, but still locked in at midfoot and heel (I have relatively narrow feet). Good to go out of the box, no break-in period. The upper is mostly mesh and from pics I was worried it might be too much like the escalantes where the uppers were like wearing a sock: amazingly comfortable for daily kicks, but when it came to running I slipped all over the place with any lateral movement and really needed more structure. These Provisions have a light, breathable mesh upper AND do provide that support. Good level of cushion for me - makes higher mileage comfortable yet doesn't feel super squishy. The tread is true road tread, so do not recommend for trails or hybrid terrain. Love these, might get another pair now since I never want them to change.

Great for protecting my feet on rainy days or the wet ground afterwards. Heel support is off for me, I have to add the soles from an older pair of Brooks to get the support I need. Also they are heavier, which I guess is why the rain\wet ground protection is good. I alternate between the Altra's and Brook's depending on the weather. I walk 3-5 miles, 5-7 days a week in the early morning hours, before dawn.
I'd also recommend:

Love the enhancements in heel (inner cushion and harder backing from provision 6. Color options are horrible. Need a traditional black with grey/white detailing.

My first week with these shoes was rough. The spot where the inner wall of the shoe meets the heel rubbed painfully against my foot. I had to use moleskin on the inner part of my heel for a week before they stopped being painful. The wearing in period was difficult, but now that they're worn in, I love them. I'm on my feet for 12 hours a day and they don't hurt by the end of my shift. I wish the heel was a little wider, but it won't stop me from buying these again in the future.

I'm still on the fence about these. I love Altra and have had a pair of Provisions a few years ago. These have extra padding near the heel and seem to be rubbing (the toe box is great).

I have three pairs of Altras and I have always liked how roomy the toe box is in them. I actually think they run large, and could go down a half size, which I did when ordering the Provision 7 style. At first, I thought they felt fine, but then I realized that my toes were getting squished and these are narrower than my other ones. So unless you have narrower feet, these might not work for you.
