Just picked these bad boys up and I am so stoked! I have Freibergs Disease (metatarsal bone issue) so shoes with carbon fiber footplates are a must for me as they help keep the metatarsals stable. Coming from Speedgoat 5, the fit is almost identical but the Tecton X2 definitely feel lighter and springier. (I've not tested them on technical terrain yet so I will likely come back and update this review soon). My only dislike is the narrow toe box. I have wide feet and I can already tell it will cause issues on longer runs as my outer big toe "bump" is pushing out the seem even when standing still. I'm really hoping Hoka will release a wide fit version of this shoe soon!!

This shoe feels great on flat roads or light, non-technical trail running. I went from the Stinson and speedgoats to this and I do very technical trail running on steep, rocky terrain. The Stinson handles amazingly, and is super stable over rocks and steep descents, however, this shoe is incredibly unstable over the same terrain. Lots of ankle rolling and rocks constantly getting stuck in the foam on the bottom outer sole. I get the idea behind cutting weight for racing, but I tried one trail race in these and never again. Your speed is limited by the unstableness of the shoe so if you like going fast down a rocky trail, you're out of luck in this shoe. Also, the price point of this shoe is no where near its actual value.

So comfortable - sturdy, soft and bouncy on trails. A real winner! It would be nice if there were a C or D width in this shoe

I have been running in Tectons religiously since the first version, the insoles in the X2 continue to bunch up and get caught in the shoe. It's beyond frustrating I have tried super glue but a lot of the time I end up having to run with no insoles

The fit is great. The color appears to be a more dark purple than I thought it would be. I was expecting a dark pink. I still really like the shoes though!

I'm not a fan of the new tectonic. I don't like cuffs around my shoe. I hope you keep the original design

I now own three pairs of Tecton 2 sneakers! I stocked up due to the sale as well as the new style coming out. Love the roomy toe box, great fit around my ankle, and the extra traction on the sole. Super comfortable, all purpose, walking and light hiking shoe.

I really love the Tecton X2. It has good cushioning, but it's very responsive. Fast, nimble, and just the right amount of stability and protection for the trail. Note that it runs just a little small, in my opinion. I'd recommend going up a half-size.

I usually hike in Speedgoats but really dislike the colors of the latest model. So I decided to try Tectons. Not as cushioned as SGs, but light and responsive - with great colors to boot!

I bought the first Bondi ever made and never looked back. The HOKA TECTON X 2 is perfect for running and for walking, hiking or flat tracking. This shoe is a Bondi with incredible responsiveness and it holds you to whatever surface you are running or climbing or walking on. This is my 2nd pair ! If you like the Bondi but want abit more oomph under your feet - this is the shore for you!

A friend had recommended Hoka but I was unfamiliar with the brand. I decided to jump full in with this pair of sneakers. I've had problems with pain in my heels and shin splints over the years. These shoes are possibly the most comfortable and light sneakers I've ever owned. Heel pain is gone and shin splints are far less. They genuinely make me want to run (and I'm not one to love running).

Great trail shoe with tons of sole support and grip. I love the carbon plate technology. The carbon in the sole helps me to stop bending my big toe which normally causes pain. These shoes propel you and are super speedy. Breathable upper is perfect for hot days and lets your feet breath nicely. Love the colors!

I love my Hoka Tecton X2s! It's like running on clouds. I am a slow low-mileage runner, but it is what keeps me sane and healthy. I mostly run on trails in the woods or sandy trails near the coast. These shoes work well under both conditions. Nimble enough for root-bound wooded trails and responsive on mushy sand. And they are so light! And comfortable! I really love them.

Legitimately amazing trail shoe. Light but still supportive and responsive. Let me climb rocks in Moab like a little spider monkey. Tread holds up through many rocky conditions. You should probably buy these!

I really love the Tecton X shoe. My foot doctor recommended the Carbon X but it is no longer available. HOKA "chat" helped me by recommending the Tecton X instead and I am very pleased with it.

This is my go-to shoe for all kinds of trail - smooth, rocky, hilly - you name it. These shoes are light, responsive and (I feel) offer better protection underfoot from rocks compared to the Torrents, which I also use.
