I already own the Clifton 7 and 8 and love them. But the new Clifton 9 are my new favorite! More cushioning and the top material doesn't pucker as it did on my Clifton 8. I chose the Eggnog/shifting Sand color for something different in my collection but will most definitely be looking for another pair in a different color. Size is consistent with all my other Hoka's. This shoe looks sleek and stylish and is the most comfortable running shoe. I run about 15-20 miles a week and alternate my shoes.

Comparing the Clifton 8's to the 9's I am a fan of the extra cushion. There isn't too big of a difference between the two models however, I needed a size wide for the 9's and not the 8's. I just wish there were more color options for us folks with wider feet.

I am a long-time Hoka fan and have put literally thousands of miles on Hoka Clifton's 6, 7, and 8s. These are the most disappointing version of the Clifton's ever. The toe box is so narrow compared to the previous versions and the support around the heel feels so minimal. I tried going a half size up to see if it would give my toes more room but it just caused my heel to slip out even more. The material seemed to wear down a lot quicker as well particularly around the heel and sole. I do not recommend.

I wish I loved them, but I didn’t. I’m a nurse and I walk an average of 5 miles per shift, and these shoes made my feet hurt after a couple of hours, especially in my arches and inner mid foot area. My feet feel like they’re pronating in these shoes, putting extra stress in the arch area. Unfortunately they aren’t for me.

These were my first ever pair of Hokas. Immediately they were extremely comfortable and very little breaking in was required. I do a lot of walking so I may never buy anything other than Hokas moving forward

Usually take 9 1/2 but a 9 wide was a better fit. These shoes are amazingly comfortable. I have a bunion and a hammertoe, but more debilitating is peripheral neuropathy that causes severe pain. Why not 5 stars you ask? Reasons: 1. Limited color choices in women's 9 W 2. These shoes are UGLY!!!!!!! Even the other unavailable color combinations are UGLY. Guess UGLY is the price I pay for comfort.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance is good, but I have found these obscenely expensive Hoka shoes more comfortable.

I love Hokas and loved the look of these (I got the vanilla / astral in 8.5 Wide). I'm happy they had a great looking color combo in wide, a lot of times it's just the basic black or white. As much as I wanted to love these though, the second I put them on I could immediately feel my feet tilting inward. I don't naturally pronate, so this was super uncomfortable and made my stride feel very different when running and not in a good way. There was just no arch support on the inner side and the shape pushed you inward. I'm shocked more people don't call this out!

Not sure why Hoka is calling this a Clifton. It's a hair longer than the 8 and definitely wider. More room in the toe box sounds great until you realize that the base of the laces start higher on the 9, so you can't really secure the forefoot properly. The tongue is longer and the upper is higher, strangling the ankle. This is like a completely different shoe, and stores update to the new version, so you have limited options. Not happy. Be careful before purchasing.

I had foot surgery 1.5 years ago and have been wearing Hokas ever since. They definitely helped with recovery and are so comfortable!

I love this shoe. It is extremely light and very comfortable to wear. I had plantar facilitis which is why i purchased the shoe. My foot felt great in them and I could walk or stand for long periods without pain. I have worn sketchers for many years but now Hoka is my Go To shoe. I have bought another pair.

These shoes feel amazing. I have had them now for quite some time and the only thing I don’t like is the blue paint around the sole seems to flake some. It’s not terrible but it is frustrating to pay so much for shoes and they defect even when you take excellent care of your shoes!

These shoes fit perfectly right out of the box. So comfortable. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the back tab that sticks out and gets caught on jeans.

Fantastic shoe. Wore them to Rome. Cobblestone streets. 40 miles in 6 days. My feet only hurt from standing in 1 place (lots of museums) never from walking. I was shocked at how good they felt. I survived a trip on cobblestone streets and dozens of flights up and down stairs. And my feet came home and weren't bruised or tender at all. Very impressed. My previous long trip shoes were brooks and altras. They didn't even compare to the Cliftons. (I tried the Bondis too but the Cliftons were lots better).
I'd also recommend:
I use to recommend Altra. But I am a Hoka believer now through and through.

I honestly think Hokas are ugly, but they fit amazing (I am flat footed) and they are so comfy. Definitely adding these to my rotation

I bought these after being suggested to me at a running store for plantar fascitis. Before this I usually just wore ASICS. Even though I hate spending this much money on shoes they are amazing. My heel that hurts in my ASICS doesn’t hurt with these. I have been walking my dogs in the rain and they aren’t slippery. You really notice the cushion on the street or hard floors. I tried more squishy shoes like the more but they made me feel off balance (bad ankles) or hurt my feet more because I felt like my feet were gripping more because of feeling off balance. These are cushy but I don’t feel off balance in these. The only thing I noticed is I usually wear a regular and I went up to a wide because the regular made my baby toe feel tight. I have a pair of ghost max and their regular looks like the HOKAs wide. Otherwise size was right on. I do wish they had other colors besides super bright or black

These shoes are great! I supinate, especially on the left. I can't find shoes that don't hurt and have been through 4 pairs of custom orthotics. But these shoes don't hurt! They are supportive and very comfortable. Will definitely buy another spare pair.

Absolutely amazing tennis shoe. Not like anything I've ever had. I'm a little on the heavier side and my feet always hurt after being on them for any length of time. Now that I have these I have zero pain in my feet and my back is hurting less. I've always had to wear inserts in my tennis shoes but not with these. Highly recommend.

This version (they always differ slightly) is less spongy and more structured, yet it is still supremely comfortable. I'd say that it offers a bit more support and stability. The shoes look a little less chunky than previous iterations. I bought the shoes in black and they are perfectly presentable.

I am 73 yrs old and used to be frustrated by uncomfortable footware because I felt I could walk all day long if I just had comfortable shoes. Thankfully I found those shoes with HOKA. I usually walk 2 to 4 miles/day with my dog and never have sore feet anymore. It's a blessing.

I wear it to work as a retail pharm tech and regularly take it to the gym and for runs. My feet feel great. I also used it at Lollapalooza/State fair and it looked cute with my outfits. No feet pain after either one!!

I work giving tours, walking about 5 miles on mixed terrain per day, and have planters fasciitis. These shoes are amazing, better than the best orthotics I've had in the past. Support, toes can move around, plenty of cushion, can't say enough about how much I love them! I did order a half size larger than what I wear in Chaco's or OluKai.
