I have been wearing Cliftons since version 6 and have multiple pairs of each version. I was excited to try to the new Clifton 9s as I felt the Clifton 8s lacked a little bit of durability/longevity compared to the older versions. My biggest issue with Clifton 9s is the plush cushion. I previously tried a pair of Bondis, which is also a neutral shoe with a plush cushion, but they were too soft for me and made my feet hurt. The Clifton 9s feel similar to the softness of the Bondis. Additionally, the upper is too tight and lacks flexibility of the prior mesh uppers, which can be problematic for those with a wide forefoot. This version may work well for others that like the more plush cushion as opposed to the balanced cushion of the older Clifton models. If you are looking for something similar to the prior version of the Cliftons, I would recommend trying them on first before purchasing them. They have a much different feel than the prior versions of the Cliftons, and I wish they would have just released this shoe under a different model name rather than making these changes to the Clifton model.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! These shoes are wonderful!! I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis for a long time now. I have tried heated foot massages, foot stretching boots from my doctor, several stretching devices from Amazon, several arch support insoles and I even bought Sketchers Arch Fit sneakers and none of these products have taken away the pain in my heel. I never heard of the name HOKA before. I was actually on Amazon searching and praying for anything else that could possibly help me and I was reading the reviews of this one foot product when I see in a review of a person giving praise about wearing HOKA sneakers for plantar fasciitis. I immediately decided to order a pair but not from Amazon because in that persons review, the price for HOKA shoes are much higher priced. I researched and found Zappos to be the most affordable. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes on April 9th and received this pair the next day. When I put them on I was AMAZED!!! I felt no pain in my heels. It felt like I was walking on a cloud. These shoes are so lightweight and comfortable. I normally wear a size 11 however I decided to get the 11.5 and I am so glad I did. First it is so difficult to find an 11.5 in women’s shoes. I have toe space without the shoe flopping on and off my foot like a size 12 does. I don’t feel like I need to add any kind of insole. I have the arch and heel support in this shoe. I will forever be thankful for reading that person’s review on Amazon and extremely thankful for HOKA!!! I will absolutely recommend HOKA shoes to anyone with plantar fasciitis. I will forever be a customer and will be buying more shoes by HOKA!!

This is my first pair of Hoka. I am 47 and have arthritis, bone spurs, plantar fasciitis etc.. It is very hard for me to find comfortable shoes. These were amazing from the start. I have now worn them 3 times. Not only do my feet not hurt while wearing them, my knee pain is also reduced.

I'm always in need of a neutral colorway that you can dress up or down. The most appealing color with respect to this is shifting sand/eggnog (the white gets dirty so fast, and the grey doesn't have as much character) Love the shifting sand except for the light grey heel logo which feels out of place on this shoe. Feels like it should have used the darker shifting sand accent color (or even gold, or light brown); something slightly more contrasting. To me, the Clifton 7 Almondmilk has been the best Clifton colorway. Wish they would just bring that colorway back unchanged.

Everything about them is great but the decision to put reflective lightning bolts that go on left and right uppers knit doesn’t flow to me i would prefer a clean matte aesthetic. Standing upright they responsive. The toe box is roomy and breathable. The mesh on both feet feel nice and cradled. Walking in them its an absolute comfortable ride the heel and metatarsal comfort is what i expect and it delivers a cozy plush stride. The tongue is light breathable and doesn’t get in the way just disappear in the silhouette. The Birds Eye view wearing them they look amazing on my feet.

I've had them for almost 3 weeks now and st first they felt great. It might of been the excitement of getting new shoes and finally giving in to the hype and wanting to believe they could live up to it, however, after 3 weeks, my feet have begun to hurt - in a Different way. I got the wide versions and I feel like I'm struggling to make the arch support work for me. Also I feel like I'm constantly leaning more on my heels than evenly distributing my weight. When I first laced them up, I loved that they felt like walking on marshmallows with a bit of arch support. However, lately I think it just readjusted my pressure pain to a different area of my foot. I'm a physician and I walk on average 5-6 miles a day within the hospitals. I've struggled to find shoes that work best for me, and I cannot recommend these shoes at this time. I would be inclined to try to narrow versions to make a better assessment. Please let me know if I can get an exchange going.

I was hesitant to purchase anything but Brooks. Glad I did. These shoes have been great since day 1.

My husband is on his feet and the concrete 10 plus hours a day and as soon as he tried them he said these are going to work fine and I am going to have to get another pair.

I haven't worn sneakers to work in the aircraft plant in years. These eliminated knee, back and numb toe pain on day two. Looks like my NB work boots are parked.

I have the Bondi 8s and thought they were the best ever but these are less bulky and even more supportive somehow. Lookswise they're so much cooler than the Bondi too in my opinion

I have osteoarthritis in both feet. At one time I could wear just about anything comfortably. Over time though, fewer and fewer shoe styles offered the comfort and support I needed. Upon recommendation from my MD I bought my first pair. I have since bought a second pair will certainly be purchasing a third.

The Clifton 9 feels better than the 8. I feel the shoe maintained the consistency of the fit. The tongue is improved and does not fold in. The back of shoe design maintains the fabric to help and support the placing your foot inside the shoe. Ran 10 miles in them yesterday and was like running without effort.

From reading reviews I thought the Clifton would be better for me because of its lighter weight. After 10 minutes wearing the Clifton 9 I just received , I realized I need more cushioning . So I’d like to return these and buy some Bondi 8 instead

My 8s are my favorite shoes. Wanted to replace them but the newer shoe feels like it is cut differently and is a little "cheaper" than its predecessor.

These are nice looking shoes but I noticed that they pronate inward a bit and are not as stable as other Hokas I have.

Purchased for my husband. He has some issues with his feet. He ordered a size 10 and a 10 1/2. His normal size is 10, but felt the 10 1/2 was perfect. He loves his new shoes. He is looking to buy another pair. He highly recommends the Hoka Clifton 9.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've had in years. I could tell I'd like them the minute I put my feet in them. They are well-made, excellent quality materials, stylish and the fit I've been searching for. Everyone's feet are different, but I'm happy with them.
