My husband and I both purchased the Speed Eco Waterproof for trips to Norway, Iceland and then a safari in East Africa. The shoes are super-comfortable and performed well on all types of surfaces. We are not super hikers but walked a lot in the Northern climates. They kept us warm in cold climates and were fine in the heat of Kenya and Tanzania where we walked less and were in safari vehicles. They are a little softer on my feet than my old MOAB lowcuts which I will probably never use again.

Perfect 2 weeks in Ireland, had a shoe insert, because, let's be honest, you gotta have one. But stayed at the Merrion hotel, one world class hotel, and went to many nice restaurants, we t to Belfast and Kilkearny. And this was all I wore. Walked countless miles and many Guiness pints. The shies were perfect. And they look great with dark jeans and can wear anywhere.

Very light yet waterproof. Hiked to the alpine Williams Lake, New Mexico and encountered some snow along the way above 10,000 feet. They're great.

I took these shoes on a 3 week Europe trip to Italy and Switzerland. As part of the trip the temps ranged from 35-75 degrees with rain off and on. I walked in snow, mud, shallow puddles, and through rain storms. I wore water resistant pants from Outdoor Research which kept the water from getting my socks or top of the shoes wet. Even with the rain, I didn't have a single wet sock. Nothing soaked through the shoes. Obviously, they tend to run a little bit warmer because of the water proofing, but in cooler climates they're ideal. Additionally, I was wearing a photography backpack with about 30lbs of gear. The padding in the shoes kept my feet from getting sore even with the additional weight. I can't speak to the longevity of the shoe, but I can say they're built for traveling in all sorts of weather. As mentioned by a few people, they can be a bit slick, but this only seems to be true on non-porous surfaces like metal for the occasional manhole or metal plates covering sidewalks, take some extra caution.

For me they were supportive in the right way for my ball-of-the-foot neuroma, and and at the same time, light and able to slip on. I bought two for my South America three week trip, both waterproof and net. I had no pain issues with 12000+ steps a day!!

Very comfortable and well built. I walk from 5 to 10 miles a day and these shoes provide excellent support. My feet and legs are not tired after walking.

I am very pleased with my choice and I am a long-term Merrill shoe customer.

Exactly what I was looking for. Great water repellent shoe that I use for lawn services which is comfortable for all day wear.

I use them for golf shoes, waterproof, great grip on the tee box and perfect for a round of golf.

we just wrapped up a 14-day trip to Europe and I bought these shoes to keep my feet dry in the rain. As it turned out, I wore them nearly every day because they were so comfortable, and they performed very well on the rough cobblestone streets of Northern Europe. My new favorite travel shoes come rain or shine!

Best shoes for men who experience foot neuropathy from diabetes or who have worked in construction. My husband wears these shoes in rain, snow and sunshine. They really help his feet, and they are an excellent looking shoe to wear with jeans or dress pants

These shoes are super comfortable and are the perfect size/fit. My ankles keep getting super chewed up every time I wear these, though, to the point where I noticably hobble back home. I'm hoping they'll properly break in and make my ankles happy eventually, but for now I can only give these shoes 4 stars.

Great wear from the beginning walk. I walk on urban trails. Only caution is they are like skates on ice

Very nice hiking shoe. Great colors: LAVA/CABERNET, but runs a bit wide.

The initial feel is quite stiff and inflexible. i am quite used to Merrill fitting well at the start.
