I have been Searching for the right fit in a barefoot shoe for disc golf. Played 2 rounds at throw down the mountain in the Merrell trail glove 7, And 1 round in a pair of xero trail. The merrell felt great on the foot. Like a "glove". Great traction on the oak leaves. So as for the first 2 rounds I give they 5 stars. As for the Xero trail it's a no go for disc golf. I'll give the trail glove 7 a few more rounds and post a better review. My feet were happy!

these get back to the wide feel and toe but run large; my other trail gloves are size 10, these fit nicely at 9.5. New but so far so good

The Trail Glove 7 was an addition to other Trail Gloves that I already owned. It is hard to beleive that my favorite shoes were improved; but they were. The light blue is a welcome addition as are the shorter laces that aren't so prone to stepping on and untying.

I love Trail Glove only because it gives a bit more thickness over the Vapor Glove. I am not a super minimalist guy but also can't stand ultra thick sneakers. This shoe rides that line. There are a bunch of downsides though and they all have to do with the outsole. Out of the box wet hard surface traction is extremely poor and remains for the life of the shoe. Sidewalks, boulders, wood decking are all slip hazards . The lugs wear very very quickly so within 3-6 months the traction is further reduces from major wear surfaces. I have 5 year old Vivobarefoot that don't show this much wear and achieve excellent traction with similar designs. As a street shoe the lugs pick up all kind of junk, as a trail shoe that junk is impossible to shake without a hose down or vigorous brushing. When the wear does set in I feel the structure and the support goes too, bringing foot pain that a new pair doesn't. I've learned to rotate a few pairs since you can blew through a single pair so quickly. Other than that fit, feel, lacing, support all seem on par for this class of shoe. I miss my Minimus 10v1 ever day, but these are Merrell are fine.

The shape is odd. After barely a month wearing those bumps on the sole were already wearing out.

absolutely garbage. I had less than a month with only occasional wear (maybe once a week) and the tread is already gone. I bought to use as trail shoes and that was my only use for them, they had light exposure to sidewalks and i am pretty sure thats what did them in.

I really like the shoes, I also have a pair of the Vapor Gloves that are size 11, which seem to have a little too much room at the toes. The 10.5 with the Trail Glove seems a wee bit narrow and lacking in toe room. Next pair I get will be a size 11, once I wear these out. Overall I'm very satisfied with the Trail Glove as a gym shoe and urban hiking shoe. Great for driving. I rated them having no arch support, which is to be expected from a shoe that is barefoot. I have a really high arch and nevertheless find the Trail Glove comfortable. Not shoes I'd wear for wilderness backpacking.
I'd also recommend:
Keens, Vans, Fleuvogs, and Merrell

I bought a pair of these in March. The sole is already worn down with holes in it. They don't get excessive use, just everyday wear. Less than 6 months use at this price point is ridiculous. Previous versions didn't have this issue, and I loved them. I'm not sure what happened with quality control, but I'll be finding a different brand in the future.

Love the shoe in theory, but the tread design is terrible. The heel tread wears off after a few uses. If you try wearing these on pavement theyll wear off the first time. This is my first pair and I wish I had tried these before the redesign. Im hoping the next generation comes out soon with a new sole otherwise Ill need to go with a different shoe/brand.

Glad the trail glove has returned to form. Back to what makes it a great barefoot shoe. I love these shoes. Ive had every TG since inception but couldnt stand the 5. Im glad that was a temporary step for Merrell. The 6 is back to what makes it great. A flexible shoe with roomy toe box that fits like a glove. I wear these for everything. Intense hikes, walks around the block. They are great

These shoes are very light and very comfortable. They are very flexible and allow great foot movement. They keep cool in the summer heat and slow your feet to breathe. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I like the wide toe box and the shoes have excellent grip and that close to the ground feel I like from barefoot style shoes, but with a little more material than my last Merrells so trail rocks arent as rocky . For my foot, after a long day, I get a little fatigued on the outer side of my mid foot region. Ive also put a lot of miles walking around the streets of Europe and these held up well and were comfortable. I love the look and the feel of them overall and would definitely buy them again.

Great shoe I have loved running and walking trails in. Upper is still like new after 300km. I would have given 5 stars and would have bought again had the outsole tread lasted as well as the upper. Heel and forefoot have lost tread and grip with it after only 300km so I don't feel it is sustainable to have to replace that often.

A shoe that fits! Be careful these babies grip! Excellent shoes that exude confidence and I love the low profile sole makes you feel in control with every step. Will definitely be looking for another pair! True to size.
