After a recent winter race I clearly needed thicker and better quality winter running tights. These are ideal and add a stronger layer of insulation at a very competitive price.

I feel very comfortable in these tights and love the reflective material that adds nighttime protection which allows me to be seen in dark environments.

I'm 180, 6'. Large is just about right fit wise. Pockets are great including the one in back that holds a phone, plus one zipped around the knee (sounds odd) and a third on the right hip. Reflective but not overly so. Tested so far down to 5 C without issue.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I’m 5’11 and 185 lbs. normally I wear a medium in Nike. I went up after reading other reviews and it fits well ( a little big on the waist, but overall not a bad fit). I’m not a huge fan of the reflective design at the bottom despite not thinking I would mind when I looked at the picture (I usually wear under shorts and it looks strange together). My biggest complaint is the pocket on one knee. It’s in a strange location, it’s uncomfortable, and unnecessary (there is another zip pocket on the back).

I've worn these for a few days to assess them and for comparison's sake, I'm slender, 140 pds, and about 6 feet and size S is perfect and matches the sizing chart given. I can see where. a stockier individual with well-developed calves and thighs might not be the perfect fit for this garment.
Okay, the two things on reviewers' minds: are zippers and pockets.
Yes, the zippers are a bit hard to close over the calf, but if you don't pull the tights up fully in place and bring the fabric together before zipping it works out pretty well and I have not found that the zipped part seems under undue flex and stress, so hopefully it will go the distance without tearing
Yes, the pockets are small and not really suited for a cell phone (think ID and cash), but if you're like me you bring along the least weight as possible, so I leave my cell phone at home. Not everyone can do this so you might consider a low-profile running belt for the waist. I've used these and they center the weight of the phone around your waist and make at least tolerable to drag along.
What I do like:
*Excellent reflective accents
*Feel of a compression tight without being a huge struggle to pull on; good knee support
*Allows for modest appearance in public, they sit at your waist but a. natural "pouch" forms below the groin so that appearance is near to a flat front as might be
So far that I've tried, they are warm to 29 degrees, and probably good to low 20s

Way too small! Not even close. Looks like a great tight though (for someone who is rail-thin).

I'm a normal size guy and thought the zipper would work. Once received, I couldn't zip the calves at all and had to return them

I really wanted to like these pants.. I had purchased the Impact Run (at a lighter weight) and had hopes that this would bridge that gap between Fall and Spring runs. However :
The PROS: the fit is good.. snug where it needs to be (offering good compression to combat muscle fatigue on long runs.
The CON (and this is big) is the location and pockets. In addition to the (GOOD) back pocket (perfectly centered at the base of spine, if has a zippered pocket located mid thigh that is small enough for gels but too small for a phone. and a non-zippered pocket , also at mid thigh, of the other leg. This is the big enough for a phone, however it's (1) at angle that affords no security; it felt like it was one stride or fast brek/stop away from slipping out! On top of that it (2) is at the same mid-thigh location, a terrible place for a that knee given the added jiggle and weight for each footfall.
Sadly I sent them back (a shame, because the fit, weight, an contours were spot -onQ
