Got these to replace my altra lone peak 6 for trail running in the white mountains of NH. These are just a better overall shoe: more cushion, better soles, more secure fit.

I have peripheral neuropathy, I've had problems with my feet for years. Decided to give these a try and man am I glad I did! I stand all day on concrete, my feet take a beating. These shoes are like walking on air! At the end of the day my feet are no longer fatigued and no more nightly cramps! I highly recommend them!

Other companies have staked their claim in the zero drop, wide toebox world, achieved success and the promptly moved to a conventional narrow toebox. THANKFULLY Topo remains true to the spirit of their prior shoes. This has just the right amount of cushion without feeling like a marshmellow on stilts. Keep up the good work!

Huge fan of the Pursuit and Topo in general but, like the Mountain Racer 3, find the Pursuit a bit tippy unfortunately. My wishlist for this otherwise stellar zero drop offering is: 1). Lose the arch support (on all your zero drop shoes). 2). Drop the stack height to 25mm. 3). Design the last so the shoe has a slightly wider footprint (especially through the midfoot)like the Altra Lone Peak basically. I LOVE the comfort and build quality of the Pursuit and I think the Gray/Olive colorway is one of the best looking shoes on the market right now. My only real issue is with stability so maybe I just personally need to stick with your lower stack shoes like the Runventure and Terraventure but I really, really want to love the Pursuit too. Kind of hoping you guys will make it a little less high off the ground in the future is all and when I talk to other Altra crossovers, the thing that comes up time and again islose the arch support. Overall though, Topo is killin' it! Keep up the great work!

I put many miles on a pair of Terraventure 3s, including several 100 miles on the Appalachian Trail. Absolutely loved that pair of shoes. Was excited about the zero drop and higher cushion offered by the pursuit. The shoe is close to being great, but the arch support is way too prominent and slightly painful. It sort of breaks in over time but never quite goes away. Out of the box it's like the entire arch is filled in with foam so subtle foot movement makes it very noticeable.

Toebox space, great.
Sizing, great.
Looks, great.
The one flaw these shoes have, is that they have too much "arch support" built into the structure of the shoe, and it is very close to the heel of the shoe. For me it pushed on and aggrevates a tendon in my heel and makes them unwearable.
Was really hoping to get away from altras, but my feet say no.

Too tight on my instep but your experience may be different so give it a try. Seems to be a well made shoe.

I'm on my 3rd pair of these. Full on happiness. Please do not change them too much (if at all) Topo. Theyre comfortable, durable, supportive, with the right amount of cushion and trail feel. Black would be sweet. Please retain the magic durability, traction, and comfort you have achieved with this shoe.

Love the classic Topo fit and zero drop (although there’s less sole directly under the toes). Just the right amount of cushion for running over rough, rocky terrain.

I don't think it needs changing, but perhaps a gray color way would be nice. I have several pairs of Topo Athletic shoes and boots, and this is always at the top of the rotation. Great traction in all conditions. Just really well made and durable. #sweepstakes

I originally bought these as walking shoes thanks to the thicker sole, but tried them on my runs and loved them. Even less PFS knee pain with these. Being trail shoes, I appreciate the more grippy road feel, especially in moist conditions. Highly recommend. Good build quality, never had a pair flake on me. #sweepstakes

I thought I'd celebrate reaching 800 miles with THE SAME PAIR of Topo Pursuit. These shoes are incredible all-rounders: the heel lock is reliable, the shoe is incredibly durable, the outsole grips well, the mid-sole is responsive and sensitive, yet cushiony enough for the rocky/gravel terrain, and water drains surprisingly well. Oh and the toe-box! For us with EEE forefoot width these shoes are a godsend: no blisters, no rough spots, no discomfort. Super recommended!

Completed my second 24 hour ultramarathon in the Topo Pursuit. Fantastic experience with these shoes in both training and competition. I am a bigger runner weighing in at 220 pounds. The Pursuit gives me adequate support. They are incredibly durable. The toe box width is amazing. After my first ultra my feet were horribly blistered (wearing a different brand). After this race in the Pursuit, with its extra room, two blisters total. My recommendation is to buy these shoes.

Was an Altra devotee until the Timp 4 went on a diet or something? Run in Mtn Racer 4 and Persuit. Both lock heel and forefoot without question "best on the market" Another review pointed out foot bed began to "form" or cave to outline base of toes and I agree, like sleeping on a mattress body outline. Already aware stock insoles just don't fit the bill I invest in a firmer platform via Sole wide cork footbeds, I did put 20 miles on stock beds to check platform, no go, scrap and save OG's for their retirement into gardening shoes.

I like a no-drop shoe and enjoyed my altras, but I found they gave me little to no protection in places with lots of rocks, either hunky gravel roads or rocky trails. The traction was also not great. These are much more durable, better traction, better comfort without being too heavy. I sized them up for steep downhills, and that has worked well. #sweepstakes

Did a R2R hike of the GC this past weekend and had ZERO foot issues. My feet were fresh enough to get up the next day and do another hike. I've done a small bit of trailing running in these as well, but they are a bit heavy and firm for that purpose for me. Really excellent fit, ZERO hot spots or blisters after 10+hrs going 5000ft down and 5000ft back up.

Picked up a pair of Pursuits after a recommendation from a fellow trail runner. I'd worn Altra up to this point and have been looking for zero drop, roomy toe box shoe but with more foot lock. The Pursuits were just the ticket. Did a 100k trail race last weekend, didn't need to change shoes. Feet felt great the whole race. I've got about 200 miles on these shoes and the tread still looks brand new. Would highly recommend.

I've been searching for an alternative to Lone Peaks ever since Altra was sold a few years ago. The quality, durability, and fit of the Pursuits is everything I've been looking for. These shoes can take a beating. They've survived 400 miles and counting of thru-hiking and still have life left in them. The toe box on the Pursuits is roomier than any of the -venture models, which is was a welcome surprise for my duck-shaped feet. The heel cup is robust enough to hold up to varied terrain without collapsing and causing heel-rim blisters (a recurring problem I've had with Lone Peaks and Olympus'). The laces stay secure and provide ample adjustability. And there's still a gaiter hook at the front!
The Pursuits' only drawback is their proprietary gaiter trap in the back. I already have standard, velcro-backed gaiters and don't want to buy a set that will only work with one brand of shoes. But that problem was easily remedied by supergluing some velcro on the back of the shoe.
All in all, this is an excellent shoe that performs well in conditions much more demanding than it was designed for (all-day, every day use on rugged terrain for multiple weeks or months with a 30+ lb pack weighing me down).

My husband owns a pair of 68 year old feet. We use them a lot for urban hiking - Pursuit delivers cushioning on asphalt and concrete. The olive color is great for not drawing too much attention to the exorbitant length of his feet - look great going errands. We very much like the darker sole colors so we don't have to keep cleaning them after each wearing. They're not too hot either - good for our searing Las Vegas temperatures.

The combination of zero drop, excellent arch support and wide toe box really make this shoe a winner. I think it checks a lot of boxes to prevent injuries while still being extremely fun to run in. I would love to see a stripped down 8oz racing version of this someday.

Let me start by saying I've been an Altra wearer for the last 3 years and have had multiple pairs of lone peaks, Olympus, and mount blanc. This shoe beats them all. More cushion than the lone peaks, better heel lock than the mount blanc and less bulky than the Olympus. If these shoes can turn out to be more durable than Altra (the bar is pretty low) I will never go back. Price point also greatly favors Topo. Only thing i would change is i would prefer a more traditional gaiter set up. Well done!

I wear these shoes for hiking in the National Park. They are the most comfortable shoe I have purchased and the soles are really good at providing great traction. I love how the toe box is roomy but the mid and heel fit like a glove to give great support. Topo are now my go to shoes.

Topo better NEVER change this shoe. Here's Why.
1) It's truly wide for a 102-110mm forefoot person 2) 28mm and zero drop is goldilocks 3) Vibram megagrip is way better 4) Appropriate trail lugs 5) Mesh upper breathes but doesn't let in fine particles 6) Huge toe bumper 7) The rocker keeps momentum.
DO NOT CHANGE this magic shoe!
