Great pack for what I need! I use it for a daily bag to carry my uniform/gym/change of clothes. I don't know how well it would be for an every day carry; but for a travel bag/carry on great choice. My only complaint is that some of the straps have a Velcro tie down, while others do not. I would add Velcro "tie downs" to the compartment lid and shoulder straps; no matter what great bag and quality. I also enjoy that you can remove the waist belt when you don't need it.

Love how much I can fit in this backpack. The interior bottle pockets keep my water and coffee bottles secure and the laptop compartment fits (just barely) my 16" 16:10 laptop. My only suggestion would be to consider adding more/better excess strap management. I had to buy clips to keep the straps that didn't come with velcro keepers from flapping around while using the pack on my motorcycle.

Current active duty military. I purchased this pack 2 months ago, just prior to going to dive school. I used it every day to carry dive gear to and from the training area. The pack was often wet due to the environment. There are other better packs on the market but the quality and capability you get for the price this pack is hard to beat.

Construction and Design - Yoke adjuster/stiffener system works, get your size right. [MR does know a thing or two regarding backpack frame design, load transfer and earned industry respect with their Guide Light Frame and Terraframe systems] - Durable 500D CORDURA fabric and Coated YKK #10 Zippers were a good choice. With thoughtful organization and weather resistant design throughout, the Blitz-35 did accomplish the best of features and versatility, though throttled to meet a price-point. These sum-up to a V-Good weight to function ratio (and price). - The Blitz side panel webbing is suitable for two, 2.7L pouches per side (see photo). - Side (elastic band) pockets diameter capacity - barely impedes interior pack space with 3" or less diameter fuel bottle etc. or kidney shaped canteen. (4" dia. will impede some pack interior space) Blitz-35 the Drink Tube Routing The internal padded, laptop sleeve (with exterior side zipper access) will also serve for a hydration pouch with usable drink tube routing (see photos think price-point). The packs inside back-panel area also has Loop Velcro panel for customized organization options. What's a Perfect Pack The Perfect Backpack - is a pack that will meet most of your needs without hindering your performance and yet versatile enough to adapt to changes, enabling you to achieve the goal. That said - there is no 'perfect' backpack - the backpack is a tool which varies according to a place and season, guided by the aforementioned principles. Gear isn't fashion clothing gear by choice must perform, endure with you and if needed, assist in saving a life. Happy Trails 70's wilderness explorer, former SAR volunteer

This is my second mystery ranch pack. I've been using this pack for a month as my EDC pack and I love it. Here in Indiana the temperature can fluctuate 20 or more degrees in one day, and having the ability to stow all my layers while also being able to collapse the pack down when I need it is a game changer. Another very high quality pack, I'm a happy camper.

Everything about this pack exudes quality and forethought in design. I am using it as a daypack--duties much below its capability.

I love this back pack! I bought this bag three weeks ago and have taken it around the city as an EDC back and on one long hike...it worked great for both purposes.

I bought this for traveling to help not to have to check bags. I am going to Alaska then to Africa in the next few months. I used it on a 3 day archery shoot and it was awesome very comfortable and light weight and more than enough storage space

I'm not sure who designed this bag, but it definitely comes with some serious experience attached to it. Everything on this bag has been so well thought out. I've abandoned my other EDC bag in favor of this one. It definitely stands out a little more but not so bad you look like the sarcastic sheep dog. This pack is my EDC pack for offshore and wildland fire work now. I am a medic that needs a comfortable bag with plenty of space for EDC gear and first line medical equipment. It even holds a radio and a Nalgene bottle securely. The versatility of this bag cannot be understated.

The side zip is quick to get to all of your gear. Not quite as good a as my 3 day assault 3 zip but this is close in real use. The side zip design allows you to overpack it if you want and has come in handy.

USFS LEO here. I use this pack everyday while out on patrol. Its held up through some serious conditions. It's rigid yet flexible. Pretty much bomb proof. The side zipper comes in handy when needing to get some essentials out. It can hold a lot of gear and at the same time, hold just a few things without folding over. The outside pockets are just the right size for specific gear. Very happy with this pack and hope it lasts a long time.

I recently purchased the Blitz 35 and put it through its paces by taking it out on several hikes and climbing trips. The first thing that stands out to me is the quality of the construction: this pack has great hardware, excellent zippers, and very durable stitching. The other feature I really like about this pack is how easy it is to adjust the size of the frame: the included instructions walk you through how to properly fit the pack and make adjustments. This makes a huge difference when carrying a load for distance. Lastly, the abundance of external pockets and the top access flap make for convenient stashing of high use items so that you don't have open up the whole pack to rummage for your head lamp or multi-tool. Don't pass on this one!

Very versatile pack, top lid design allows the monster 35l TK cinch down easily for smaller profile yet side zippers allow quick access to contents both from back (for laptop) and front (for main). My only complaints are the location of strap around the water bottle pocketI wish it didn't go over the pocket. Molle is also unnecessary for me, could have been lesser cuts instead (may also save some weight) waist belt are also too narrow, why not full 2" or 1.5"? I have been using this pack for traveling and liking it quite a lot. It also nailed price point.

I purchased this to use as a field pack but also to use as a laptop carrier in the winter months. The pack is well thought out and extremely durable. So far I have taken it on a 50 mile hike with the only issue being the removable hip strap clips coming undone several times while negotiating scrambled rock descents. The compartments are excellent and the yoke feature is nice when I let my wife use it to fit her upper body. Overall It is a great backpack and their is non other like it on the market.

I bought a Blitz 35 as a replacement for a 3 Day Assault CL that had been stolen. It is very versatile, and the compression straps allow you to really adjust the apparent size of the pack. There's a few minor problems/niggles with it, some of which I was able to get fixed by a good local bespoke pack maker/cobbler. 1. Only about 1/3 of the straps came with velcro to tie off the loose ends (fixed this by buying a set of spares online). 2. The velcro panel on the lid is too small - I had extra velcro sewn on either side of the existing loop patch to make a large panel big enough to take a name tape and extra morale patches. 3. the Laptop compartment is very light on for padding, but has enough give in it to hold the laptop in a sleeve. 4. The interior tablet pocket is too small for an iPad 12.9 - it's sized for medium/small sized tablets only (say 11 inch and smaller), and is pretty marginal on padding. In a "perfect" design, there would be better padding in both of these, they'd be a removable "module" or "modules" and both would be accessible from the excellent side zip setup. I delt with this by getting 2x 25mm nylon web hanging loops added to the top seam, and used a tablet sleeve from a competitor attached to those to store the larger tablet. This ok, but requires the main compartment to be mostly opened up from the side to access - the Blitz 30 in some ways has a better opening to the main compartment the the 35. 5. I had the repair guy sew in a large velcro loop panel on the inside on the interior, behind the MOLLE pouches, so I could attach 2x Mystery Ranch Removable Pockets (with the clear windows) against the inside of the rear panel as organisers. I think something like this should be standard in the pack - the soft loop in the laptop compartment can be useful, if you aren't putting a laptop in there. 6. The waist belt and integrated pouches are smaller and more lightweight than I'd prefer (I'd prefer something more like the older military spec 3DAP BVS waist belt, with MOLLE and have something similar to the Mystery Ranch Forager Pocket sized waist belt pockets and/or be able to attach torch/multitool to the waist belt.) 7. The Carrying handle loop at the top of the pack is just 25mm nylon webbing and could do with being heavier duty/padded for comfort (even a hyropalon handle wrap would help). 8. Similarly the bottom row of 25mm nylon isn't stitched at MOLLE/PALS intervals so certain things (like say a Stick.it) attached there are sloppier an move about more than they should. 8. Mystery Ranch do not do the Stick-it or Rip Zip pockets in Black, so you'll need to get the pack in Coyote/Multicam (or get a BlackJack 35), have a colour mis-match with the accessories or a 3rd party option for a beaver tail or side pouches. 9. Bonus points for releasing a modified version of something like the Rip Zip Pocket that had velcro loop on the interior, that had a matched organiser pocket that could be opened from the top or pulled out. 10. Bonus points for a contrast lining on the built in pouches. Overall it IS a pretty good every day pack that scales comfortable to loads for 1-2 days, but a few things aren't quite there that make is short of being a GREAT pack (particularly at its price point)
