Very well designed and good attention to detail. Everything was well thought out on this bag and is very convenient.

I got this as an EDC bag, at first I wanted the black but they were sold out so I got the blue and white (one for climbing/gym one for EDC) I really like the front admin pocket and panel and how the whole thing opens up for easy access. I think there are a couple improvements which will happen on the next generation. Most specifically I'd love to see a top that closed with a pocket, similar to other backpacking bags with the cinch closer. I also wish the shoe pocket was a little bigger. I use this for rock climbing and for swimming and can fit either items in there but it'd be great if I could fit larger wet items too. That being said this is my new EDC bag and I love it, using it almost every day. I'm also really glad I got the blue color as it works both on the beach or on a hike.

I bought this bag to use between school and the gym and I've loved it. It has enough room to carry my laptop, a harness, 40m rope, chalk bag(s) and my shoes. The front storage is so useful for getting to any small items and the designated shoe pocket keeps your bag from getting gross. Everyone at the gym loves it too!

I bought this a few weeks ago and I'm so glad I did! The bottom zip is perfect to keep the climbing shoes away from everything else. Easy access to my harness and rope, and some nice organize for my work supplies so I can just go directly from the office to the gym. I imagine a slightly bigger one would be great for sport or trad gear too.

This is the most practical and functional gym bag I have owned. Well thought out design.

I love this bag. I am a longtime Dana Design customer and have a Mystery Ranch bag I use as my briefcase, but also have Patagonia, NorthFace and Yeti bags (I'm somewhat obsessed with bags). I bought the Superset 30 because I needed a carryon bag that could also be used in a variety of situations. I love this bag and have stopped using the three bags it replaced. Very versatile and spacious. Great materials, solid craftsmanship. The bag has a unique design where it can be carried like a briefcase or a backpack. The zipper that allows you to open the entire bag to access the contents is located between the shoulder blades and down your back (if in backpack mode). That prevents access from people you wouldn't want to access it as you carry it on your back. The top of the bag has a drawstring closure so you can access its contents from the top. I love that the inside has a pocket to protect a laptop or ipad and the back of the bag has a huge flap that opens to reveal a very cool see through fabric to allow you quick access to certain items held in those pockets. Superb bag and I am very happy I bought it for myself for Christmas.

The Superset bag is a good pack for those commuting to and from class/office to the gym. The bottom pocket for shoes and dirty clothes works well and doesn't leave the rest of the inside smelling like a gym bag. Ample compartments for whatever you may need in your day to day. Water bottle pocket fits a tall Nalgene so I'd imagine it fits similar sized hydroflasks/insert brand here. If I could change one thing, I wish the exterior front pocket zipped down on either side to lay out inside of hinging out on the right.

I've been so happy with this pack, as a bike commuter and climber it's everything I need. I was worried about the lack of hip strap for commuting but it stays put quite well without it. The outer storage pocket is fantastic. Highly recommend this bag!

I especially like the duffel bag use. Very functional!

I researched small packs for my daily morning trips to the climbing gym and work for months and landed on this bag. Works perfect for me. Holds my protein shake and thermos of coffee and clothes and harness in the main compartment. I was worried that the small front pocket wouldn't hold what I wanted it to. Turns out the design makes it easier to get to everything I like to put there keys, wallet, charging gear, work ID. The bottom pocket is great for shoes and my chalk bag and is really what sold me on the bag. The only negative I found is that the bottom pocket is pretty small and takes quite a bit of effort to close with shoes and chalk bag. I have small feet so I imagine this would be even more challenging with larger shoes.

Fantastic gym bag. Only wish there was a buckle or ideally a FidLock on the top of the bag where the cinch is. When you don't have the bag completely full it would be nice to have that top buckle to compress the bag a bit.

For a while I had a computer bag and a gym bag and that sucked. This solved a lot of problems I had. I can fit everything I need for the day in here. It also works really well as an overnight bag for quick trips. The only problem I had was the top draw string broke a week after I got it. I contacted the warranty department and I had a new bag in six days.

I have so many MR but the superset is by far the best one yet. I love the look of it. It's multi functional use. I literally can use it in place or 3 other packs in one. It has so many pockets, storage and a ton of room. Very comfortable on my back when traveling. I would like to see it available in more colors.

I love a lot of things about this bag as currently many backpacks don't combine the features it has.... I use it as a gym work bag, and I often carry bigger workout gear, and I just love the cinch top functionality on a gym work bag.... the flexibility in volume and ease of access is really pleasant to use in my opinion. Love: 1. Cinch top 2. OffersLaptop Carry 3. External utility loops on side 4. 30L liter capacity 5. Stands up on it's own Gripes (mostly in regards to laptop compartment) 1. Laptop compartment is way too snug. It takes me at least one minute to put my 15 inch macbook pro. I really have to wiggle it in. This is a huge miss in my book 2. internal vertical pockets are quite small, and when I do use them, I feel it through the backpack back panel. 3. Water bottle pocket is not very stable.... this is also something I wish you'd fix with the District 24, my water bottle often falls out. Suggestions: I'd really appreciate a different setup for carrying electronics.... maybe the same front admin panel as the mission rover could work well, or an external zip like the 2-day Assault....I'd also appreciate one more external detail pocket and a slightly bigger overall volume...maybe 32-35L! More thoughts: Lastly, I don't use the bottom pocket because I find it challenging to easily get in and out of it, but nevertheless I really appreciate that the compartment folds out the way when you are not using it.

Great design the bag just needs to be bigger probably about double the size like other reviewers have said. If you fill in the main duffel area too almost full/full the shoe pocket on the bottom and dirty clothes pocket become almost useless. The duffel storage area is also way too small if you plan too put anything somewhat bulky in there, for me a pair of boxing gloves and shin guards barley fit in the bag, Add a gi and a change of clothes and it's too much. Anything long like my shin guards will poke into the shoe pouch on the bottom and make it very tiny, i use it as the dirty clothes pouch instead because there's no way shoes will fit in there. it would be fine if you only need a change of clothes, towel, a snack and maybe a few other things. this is what it looks like with just a pair of shin guards and boxing gloves inside. i wish i could take a video too give a good view of what it's like with stuff inside.

Great build quality. Works well. Its even better than I thought. Just make the shoe compartment a little bigger. Maybe have some type of top closure as well. But the whole bag is well thought out and works absolutely great. I would absolutely buy again

Two weeks into using this bag. As always the Mystery Ranch quality is always on point. The design is excellent. The only thing this bag needs is doubled in size at the least. The internal storage sleeve for dirty clothes or shoes is worthless when there is anything else in the bag. I would enjoy some daisy chain along one edge for attachment of items. I would also like to see a fixed loop of some kind at the top so the bag hangs vertical. I plan on adding these myself. All in all it's a good value

It could use a top closure and/or lid! Not sure what the point of leaving it open on top is...

This spack shines as a gym bag and for day hikes. I've also tried to use it for overnight trips and as take-on luggage for airplanes. Not completely ideal for the second function. Pocket not designed for a laptop computer or to store a lot of hard goods. First-rate quality, but important to get the use case right.

I like all the access features and stowable shoulder straps. I'm not sold on the cinch closure top just yet but will continue to field test.

I really love MR bags and own/have owned a bunch of them so when i saw a gymbag / Boulrdering bag i was overhyped :) This bag looks really cool, well design, tough as nail.... But need improvements after a couple of weeks of bouldering. First, not that comfy, especially for short people. And second, it is not as spacious as any crag bag, and that is really the most disapointing part. The opening on the back is more a gadget feature, and also rip off the possibility of a rigid frame :/ Overall so not that great, i'll wait for a revision to try again

I've been using the superset for about a month, and while I wanted to like it, I'm underwhelmed. There's a lot to like about the pack at face value; it certainly is a different take on design, but as I used it more, I found it more frustrating. It feels like a pack that is different for the sake of being different instead of being useful. For example, the trim around the bottom panel of the bag is poorly finished. I believe it's a plastic tube/wire insulated in fabric. The finishing point is in the bottom middle of the pack right where it sits on your back while wearing the pack. If you are wearing a thin shirt, you're going to feel it, and really thin shirts get snagged on the roughly finished material. I don't carry the bag using two straps anymore for this reason. The bag is generally not comfortable to carry because of the way the straps are attached to the bag, but the poor finish made it really disappointing. If the finish was off to the side, it would be a non issue. The other frustrating design choice is the trade off between the full zip back panel and a vertical carry handle. The two tiny vertical carry loops on the side of top opening seem flimsy, and I'm afraid to use them with a full load. I've tried the side carry briefcase handle, but it puts the bag at an angle where your water bottle will fall out the bottle pocket on the other side of the bag if you're not careful. There needs to be a better way to vertical carry the bag. I may try to add a vertical carry handle somewhere, but I'm not sure what to do about the rough finish on the bottom tubing. I may try to tape over it or sand it down.
