Please PLEASE make an XS version of these pants. The stretch ripstop material is lightweight and exceptionally comfortable, and the zip pockets are an excellent feature for those of you who're prone to losing keys (guilty). But these pants are UUUUGE!

True to size, comfortable, versatile. I wish the waist tie string was INSIDE the pants instead of the outside; it's placement keeps them from browns suitable for "office casual" relegating them to being glorified warm-ups

Comfortable. Fits well. I'm disappointed in the elastic drawstring. Why elastic? Makes it difficult to tie tightly. Plus one side of the string is considerably longer than the other. And since it's sewn into the waistband in the back, you can't adjust the drawstring.

Excellent casual pants. Perfect fit and color. Very pleased L.L. Bean offered these with a 28 inseam, which can be difficult to find. The zippers on the pockets and the drawstring are useful. The rubberized tips of the zippers and drawstring are also a nice touch. My only minor criticism is that I would've appreciated a second rear pocket.

Excellent quality, materials, and workmanship. But with HORRIBLE SIDE POCKET ZIPPERS that are EXTREMELY abrasive. The zippers irritate your hands whenever you try to go into the side pockets. Perhaps the individuals who "spec'd" out these pants need to be forced to wear them for about a week. I would wager that that zipper design goes away rather quickly. And I see that I am not the first one to complain about this issue.

Beautifully made with good zipper pockets. Great material too. Stretch wasteband is a big plus.

I bought a pair for my husband. He liked it initially, like material, great design, especially the back pocket with zipper. Day 2 he wore it I noticed that he had to pull up every time he stood up, as if the waist elastic or string were not working, or could not keep the pants up in place. It is the right size, with perfect length, perfect fit overall. He is 72" and weighs 171lbs, typically fits size large..

These pants fit great and feel great, particularly as a stockier fellow, with a tapered leg that looks refined, modern, and complements my bigger rear end. The only thing keeping these from being a pant I'd where every day to work ina more casual office is the reflective LL Bean logo just below the left pocket that stands out like a sore thumb. The zippered pockets conceal well, and always a nice to have if traveling through areas where you need to watch for pickpockets. Perfect pants for traveling through airports, exploring hot urban environments, or a sunny summer hike. The cotton/synthetic ratio (73%/27%) is a bit lopsided, which makes this better as a summer/desert hiker. The higher cotton content brings more breathability in the heat, but the pants won't dry as quickly as other hiking pants I've worn (but they dry quick enough for a warm sunny day-hike). Probably too much cotton to use as a winter hiker, in cool rainy regions, or in the high alpine, where the cooling effects of wet cotton can range from annoying to hypothermia. Its not a quiver of one, but very close to it.

I was looking for something to wear around the house other than my usual grey sweatpants. These are perfect as I can also wear them outside and not look like a lazy couch potato. My waist size in other LL BEAN pants has been 35 normal cut even though I measure as 34. These Medium size fit but loose. As someone else said they tend to slide down as I have no hips and these don't take a belt. Wish they were less costly so I could get another pair. I bought on sale with the only one color available.

Runs slightly large. Nice alternative to jeans in summer. Cooler and looser, somewhat water resistant.

Feels great to wear; very comfortable. The only drawback (pun) is that the drawstring is very slick and hard to tie without losing your position.

Just purchased two additional similar style multi-purpose pants. The only problem recently recognized from others purchased, they do not breathe.

If you're looking for casual pants that are unbelievably comfortable and look good, look no further. Super pleased with this purchase and would definitely purchase again. If I had one critique it would be 'too many zippers.' Otherwise great!

I loved them but the first pair was too loose for me, I wasn't sure about the waist size when I ordered. Returned 36 for 34, still en route. Looking forward to using them for exercise classes

Went shopping for jeans at L.L.Bean and came home with these. The Good: Material feels great, a worn-in feeling from day 1. Built in stretch makes them comfortable no matter where or how I sit, stand or stretch. Zippers on pockets! No worries about pick-pockets, keys, phone or wallet slipping out on a bike ride. The elastic band holds my pants up. The tips of the pull strings are coated in rubber so loose ends won't be an issue. The Bad: The only version available is the "below the waist" fit. Wish they were sitting "at the natural waist". The Ugly: The pull string on the outside is going to be a fad. I think it looks dumb anyways. Put the pull string inside the waist. The Unknown: How much will they shrink?

Pants are very comfortable with excellent construction and detail. However, they do shrink in length no matter how care you are with the laundry. Also, the draw string is made is a very smooth, slick material and it's very hard to tie, and even when tied, the knot comes apart frequently. Should have used the rough textured drawstring that is used on other pants sold by L.L. Bean. These could have been among the best casual pants I've owned, but with the shrinkage and drawstring issue, I won't be buying any more.

Very Comfortable. My only complaint is that the drawstring does not stay tied as tight as I would like or it could be that the elastic waist is very stretchy. I have to re-tie every so often. I love the flexibility and they are great errand pants and for exercise as all the pockets have zippers to secure wallet and keys.
