These pants are really comfortable and I love the material. That being said, they start creeping down as soon as I put them on. No matter how tight I tie the drawstring, within five minutes, they are falling down. As others have commented, perhaps the waist needs to be higher. I have a pair of the shorts and they stay up, maybe because they have less fabric in the legs weighing them down. I like these pants, but don't like constantly pulling them up!

I like that the fabric has a little texture, and is mostly cotton, so not overly stretchy. Unfortunately, they are designed to sit on the hips which necessitates pulling them up occasionally unless the draw string is pulled very tight. Clothing designers are in love with stretchy hip huggers, and they just ignore the fact that stretchy fabrics want to revert to their ground state (unstretched form) and will creep up or down to achieve it. If you read reviews, you see lots of complaints about this phenomenon with yoga pants and stretchy jeans that also sit on the hips (i.e., they feel like they're falling down). For that reason these would be perfect if the stretchy band fit closer to the waist instead of the hips. Even so, they look polished enough with an untucked shirt that I ordered 2 more pairs. I usually wear a size 16 in Bean jeans and the size Large fits well.

I bought these mainly for the high cotton content thinking it would be cooler than nylon ripstop. It has very little stretch, however, which is a downside for me. The pants are well made, and the fa bric very sturdy. There is more bulk and heaviness to the fabric around the middle than I would like. Also, I prefer a pant that sits at the waist rather than below. I would not be tempted to buy these again, and almost returned them because of the drawbacks.

These capris are real light weight and cool for the summer. But, I can't keep them up! They need to have some belt loops for a belt. So, I just wear them around the house...

I bought these looking for comfortable, cool, summer pants to wear hiking & gardening. They fit the bill, but ultimately I returned them & got the Sun Washed Canvas Cropped Pants instead.
The fabric is odd, soft, very lightweight with some stretch. I was unsure how it would wear. My biggest concern was the stretchy elastic drawstring. Brand new it held the pants up, but overtime I can't imagine it would hold up. If the price was less I probably would have kept them and if they go on sale I may buy a pair. The fabric intreges me. It could be great but at full price I was too worried I might be throwing money away on desposible pants and I love the Sun Washed Canvas Cropped Pants I bought instead.

Pants had no give and are uncomfortable. Pockets are shallow so my phone kept falling out.

Very disappointed in these pants. I ordered petite XL in navy and they fit perfectly! Ordered petite XL in the dark taupe because I loved them so much and they are more like a size small. I ordered these pants 2 weeks apart so I didn't gain any weight. Very inconsistent sizing!

If I'd read reviews, I would have realized that my correct size would be misses medium, not petite medium as in Bean relaxed fit pants. I like the fabric. But I'm returning rather than exchanging these primarily because of the useless front pocket; as another reviewer noted, anything in it would fall out. Thank you, LLB, for asking height and weight of reviewers; this is very helpful!

I am disappointed in these because they are way too big and I look like a sack of potatoes in them. They are very good quality, but I'll only be wearing them aroundnthe house.

The material is lightweight, and the waistband very comfortable. However, the pants didn't fit my 55-year old pear shape. The waist fit fine -maybe a bit large - and the drawstring allows for a custom fit, however the pants were too tight around my calves. The best fit is obviously for women with smaller calves than I have! For comparison, the LL Bean Easy Stretch cropped pants fit me well (although my ideal size in those pants would be between a 12 and a 14). I am hoping to find a similar fit in a lightweight pant.

The fit is pretty loose in in the waist and hips. The Dark Taupe color is really more of a dark gray-green, with none of the brown undertones you'd expect with taupe.

I purchased these pants hoping they'd be a perfect fit for my body type. They fit slightly below the waist and for me put too much emphasis on my backside. I prefer a fit that's a little bit looser in the buttocks area. I ordered a L Regular, which in years past would fit me perfectly, it just seems as others have said, LLBean has changed their sizing and I now find myself returning items purchased which I don't like to do, these will be returned and exchanged for another style pant.

The inconsistent sizing of the ripstop pants is ridiculous. I have purchased 5 pairs of various types - pants, joggers, and lastly capris - all in small. The sizing inconsistency in the pants and joggers was annoying, but I like everything else about the pants and some fit fine, so I ordered some capris. The capris are deal breakers. They are two inches larger in the waist than the joggers. This is ridiculous considering their price. LLBean used to be reliable, but no more.

After buying several pair of the Vista pants, I had high hopes for these Ripstop pants, however I won't be able to wear them. I have a long rise and I hoped these would just sit below my waist but they just won't stay up. Even when I see pants identified as high-rise, they really don't address the fit for people like me. I'd love to find a pair of true long-rise pants.

I had high hopes for the pants. Tough ripstop fabric with some stretchwho could ask for more. Well, you can ask that they fit and are attractive. These pants are fitted through the leg and baggy through the hips. The side pockets, made of stiff fabric, tend to stick out and ruin the line of the hips. Also, the size of the pants was not consistent. So were larger than others. A big disappointment.

The fit, design, roomy pockets -- everything about these pants is perfect -- except that the fabric feels like a plastic tarp -- not an exaggeration. I have other ripstop items - this fabric is nothing like those. Stiff, rough, resistant to being smoothed out after laundering -- unpleasant to the touch. Disappointing at any price.

I have never had pants from Bean. They are STIFF no matter how many washings or softner is applied. They do not fit properly around the knees, Feels like you are pulling them off.

I ordered my regular size but found it too large so I reordered a medium which fits perfectly. I love the easy care fabric.

These capris are made out of nice heavy material, but you will need to size down 1-2 sizes. XS Petite fits more like a regular small to medium.

I bought these and they are way too big and long. If I had left them at my waist they would fit as regular pants in the length, I had to pull all the way up to just below my chest to get them to look like crop or capris. Very disappointed now because I went online to get a smaller size and sold out. I wish they would have said they fit bigger I would have gone down a size at the time of ordering.

So unhappy with these capris. Cost way too much for quality of item. I put up with the fact that I have to iron them after washing, but now today, after I washed them, the tie string wrapped up on itself within the waste band so I can't fix it. Even when I iron the tie, it continues to twist on itself. Something has gone amiss with LL Bean quality. I want to order a shirt as a gift next month and now I'm reluctant to take a chance given this experience.

Well made pants but fabric wrinkles and the fit is poor. I typically wear 1X but these pants in that size swallow me up. Not flattering at all.
