They run pretty large. I originally bought 2x in several colors and wore them in the fall. I also ordered some 1x and they fit better. Very comfy

I love these pants. Three things would make them outstanding - cargo pockets that are large enough for my phone - I have yet to find any womens hiking pants with cargo pockets large enough for a smart phone. The second is if they were convertible into shorts. Thirdly - the tag in back is scratchy and uncomfortable while wearing a day pack - I've had to cut it out.
I would own multiple pairs of these pants if they did the first two things. (The front zip pockets will fit my phone, but hiking with a phone in front is really uncomfortable).

I have two pairs of the cropped versions, and decided to order the longer ones....these are by far the BEST pants for daily use in mild climates. While I love my other knit pants, these are the ones that have the wonderful zippered pockets and comfy waist: perfect for walks. While I often wear a large in pants, my experience with the cropped version is that a medium fits better. Thus, they fit just as expected, but if you normally wear a large, you may find them too roomy. I love the way you can tighten up the ankle, which makes them more like slim-fit knit pants - my one issue is that they are still a bit short on my 5"9" legs....now if Bean would just carry them in a tall!

I bought 3 pairs in different colors in early 2020, and they still look good. They run large, however, and will be trying a size down.

It is difficult to find hiking pants that fit me length-wise since I am short, but these Vista Camp Pants in size petite small fit me perfectly! I am thrilled! They are comfortable and fast becoming my go-to pants for not just hiking, but running everyday errands, too. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is when I got caught in the rain, I found that the wet material was sticking or clinging to my legs, making me cold. It did, however, dry pretty quickly once the rain ended. All in all, I would buy this again.

I like these pants a lot. I also have several colors in the shorter version. They are comfortable, and they have pockets. They do have one flaw: the lower pocket is too short. Apparently the manufacturers of women's pants think women only need cute little pockets (or none). The lower pocket ought to be at least large enough to hold a normal-sized cell phone. If it was, these pants would be perfect.

I wore these hiking in Acadia in wet weather (temp mid 60s). Overall, I would recommend as I didn't think the price was too bad, especially compared to similar pants from other brands and I was comfortable the entire time I was hiking in them and did not feel cold.
Pros: comfortable, lightweight, actually pretty flattering considering they are drawstring cargo hiking pants (roomy enough for athletic thighs but fitted enough not to be baggy), convenient cargo pocket for map or phone, they held up well for sliding on granite boulders, wash well, and they dry fast (don't remember if they were actually water repellent though).
Cons: fabric snagged on the lower leg on the first wear (maybe caught on a bush/branch?- although it did not run and I was able to push it to the back side of the fabric) and they get significantly baggier over a long day of hiking with misty conditions.

I bought a pair as we prepared for a cross-country camping trip. I had limited packing space so planned on wearing a few pair of pants and shorts multiple times throughout the trip. These held up well through camping and hiking in Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and the Rockies. They are very thin and lightweight which was wonderful for warm or humid days when other pants were just too hot. They dried well after getting wet, and washed up well after getting mud, spills and everything else that a camping trips bring. They have a nice stretch to them and were always comfortable, especially the drawstring/elastic waistband. I sat on plenty of picnic table benches, rocks and logs and did not get any snags! I will probably get another pair in a different color.

Very lightweight pant so it's great for hot summer days. The waistband could be a little more snug.

I have been wearing these pants every day since I got them (I have two pairs). I got them for the hot days of the summer in Kansas when I want pants in the a/c but shorts outside but not enough to change clothes multiple times a day. I have not found them to be entirely mosquito-proof but they are better than bare skin. They do dry quickly. My only complaint is some pilling on the legs; for the price, I didn't expect that. As far as fit, they work for my curvy hips, which was an unexpected surprise.

I bought the pants for warm weather hiking and for canoeing, since I don't like to use sunscreen and wanted something to cover my legs in the canoe. They work fine for that. But the button pockets on the pant leg are not big enough for a cell phone, which is another reason why I bought them.

Enjoy wearing them: they fit well, and look good and are comfortable and cool. Pant legs would be too long if they didn't have the ties. I was not happy about all the restrictions on the fabric, which were not mentioned in the description...no ironing, no hot water, warm dryer etc. They do not come out of the dryer perfectly smooth but I'm afraid to go near them with an iron. I wear them around town not for camping.

I bought 2 pairs in olive and black. With the pandemic, I've been avoiding taking my purse into places where I could pick up germs on or in my purse, so these pants are perfect for loading pockets with phone, keys, credit card, driver's license, mask, etc. I wear a Size 14 and am 5'4', and the Large size fits perfectly. The elastic bottoms make the pant length appear cropped, while the elastic waist is perfect for taking on and off quickly without having to undo anything. The only reason I did not give these pants a 5 star, is because I feel the side pockets (button flap), and rear pockets are both too small for an iPhone. I don't like putting my phone in the front zipped pocket, preferring it be away from my organs; it also is difficult to sit with a phone in the front or back pocket. Men may be more used to this than women, but that's my personal preference. I wish they were more affordable, I would get one in each color!

Bought this pair last year. Yes, great pants. Very comfortable. Nice fit. I wear them for vacation travel since they are versatile and so light weight to pack. However, my one complaint was the drawstring in the waist band. It was very stretchy and never felt tight enough to be secure. I replaced it with a very long black boot lace. Did the trick, but would have preferred not to have faced this problem with new pants.

I have 4 pairs of the long pants and 3 of the capris in different colors. (A lighter "stone" color would be nice someday). I didn't give them a 5 rating because of the string ties at the waist. I cut them off and tied knots. I wear these a lot now that I'm retired.

This is my 4th pair. I'd buy even more if they had add'l colors. They're lightweight, fit great, super comfy. Only complaint: the fabric tends to ball up a bit. Fix this and then 5*.

I could wear these pants 24/7 365. The material is silk soft. Whenever I wear them someone I am with always ends up buying a pair. HOWEVER, the bottom of the pants has a tie loop but not a way to actually clinch it tighter?? Like no clasp or anything. So it's like a open loop of string that you have to figure out what to do with if you want them tighter- I have not found a solution for it so I just gave up.

I love the weight and feel of the material. Wish that they have fit me. The 2X was a bit too tight across the hips and the 3X was way too big. I was very disappointed that I couldn't keep them.

I love the light weight. My only disappointment is that even though the pockets are ample I can't really use them since weight in the pockets pulls the pants down unless the tie is uncomfortably tight.

I have 2 pairs of these pants, lined and unlined, and I love them both. The unlined pair are great for summer hiking and you can cinch the legs to keep out ticks (I also sprayed mine with permethrin). I have not had the problems with pilling others have mentioned, but I hang mine to dry, which they do very quickly. However there are 2 things I wish Bean would fix: 1) the elastic drawstring. The pants have a nice elastic waist, so why do you need an elastic drawstring? If you have anything the least bit heavy in your pockets, it's hard to keep the pants from sagging. 2) the pockets. The cargo pockets are too small to put a cell phone in, and the zipped pockets are uncomfortable to put your hand in. Why don't you reverse the two and make a larger, zippered cargo pocket and leave the upper pockets open? Please?

I like all the pockets, but the leg and back pockets are not long enough to hold a cell phone and the weight of my phone pulls down my pants, not a good look. I do love the lightweight material, it's like wearing PJ's all day they are very comfortable, but maybe a tad heaver???, also I am confused by the leg ties, If you have them, why not provide a lock?? I think maybe the rise could be a tiny bit longer, they fit great as is for sure, but it wouldn't hurt to have it a little tiny bit longer. Bottom line is they look good and feel good so I'm happy.

I bought these pants mainly because when I go out photographing there are lots of pockets for my lenses and filters. They are VERY lightweight which is good in the warm weather and they offer lots of space for bending down and sitting on the ground without binding, especially around the knees. In colder weather I will wear some tights underneath. I wish they were an inch longer. Don't like to buy the tall as the waist comes up too high. I wish there was some way way to keep the ankle drawstring tight without making a knot.

My wife loves these pants so much that she asked for a second pair in another color. I love her so much that I got them. She is working from home and I am pretty sure these two pairs of pants are the only ones she is wearing.
