Finally wore out a pair of LL Bean boat shoes and looked to buy a new pair. Found the finish on the leather to be lacking, interior sole and leather less comfortable and grip sole inferior to my previous pair. Overall I would rate the product as 'fair' at best.

While these shoes look great, they are too wide--definitely not "Medium D". They can be improved by pulling the excellent rawhide laces very tight, but they still don't fit well. Beyond that, the soles are unlike any LL Bean footwear I've owned, offering virtually no support and allowing every bump or pebble to make its presence known. I have quite literally had LL Bean slippers with better soles. This will be the first time I've ever returned a product to LL Bean after wearing it for several days, but these shoes, sadly, won't do.

The gather or pucker along the seam was way too pronounced on one of these shoes. It ran almost the whole way to the sole about 3/4 of the way around the shoe. In addition, the Medium width was wider than it should have been, especially in a shoe that is bound to stretch. Based on earlier experiences, I'm concerned about quality control at LL Bean's shoe departmentsizing seems off and the workmanship isn't up to standard. Returning these and thinking of resoling my old Blucher Mocs!

I ended up with a 7 and that fit. My normal size on other shoes that I bought from you and other stores has been a 7 1/2. This shoe runs big Also the ball of the foot part of the shoe does not have much cushion. I had to purchase a additional cushion to put in the shoe.

Compared to Sperry, these shoes are not up to par. The interior seams chaffed my feet. There is no comfort padding on the insole. I'm a big LL Bean fan, but this product is not up their standard. I will be returning them.

I ordered these as a replacement for another pair of ll bean topsiders that i got about a year ago that got a massive rip down the side of the toe box and after wearing this new pair for about a week i noticed that the shoelaces would not stay still and always became parallel to the shoe no matter what. To give insult to injury they also came with ugly laces that do not match the aesthetic of the shoe. where has ll bean's quality gone?

I found out that after 2 years the soles of these shoes will split.I believe either no creases on the sole or a different design will prevent this problem.

I have had these quite a while (since '21). The soles are hard as plastic. I have tried to scuff them and put the adhesive-backed grips on the soles with no luck. The adhesive grippers offer a bit of help but the heel and non-covered area remains slick as glass. I knew the minute I put them on several years ago I would not wear these on the boat. I was using them infrequently around the house and constantly slipped on carpet and hardwood. Recently these slipped and put me down the stairs. They were placed in the garbage as they are not worth the risk. They look nice but are a complete miss on function expected in a boat shoe.

The left shoe was extremely uncomfortable. The stitching was very rough on the inside of the left shoe . I returned for exchange. I hope the replacements are better quality.

New Sole material is a significant downgrade -- no longer useful as a deck shoe. The soles quickly became hard, brittle and slippery. Eventually it began to break off in pieces.

I've had several pairs of LL Bean boat shoes over the years (among pairs made by another well known manucatuer). The most recent pair I've had from Beans (about a year old) are a marked step down in quality from years past. The sole material appears to be changed and (without any unusual use or chemical exposure) has become stiff and downright dangerous for its intended marine application: on any surface other than dry pavement you feel like you are standing on ice! Also, concur with other reviews that the stitching is 'sharp' (around the cuff).

I have purchasing this shoe for the last 30 years. They were always made in Maine. My most recent purchase were EL Salvador. They are not L L Bean quality. Why did you ruin a good thing?

This shoe is not suitable for sailing as it has a very poor grip as opposed to the LL Bean camp moc, which I also own, which has a much better sole for boating.

The smaller width is too loose in the heel. The box is fine but it slips on the foot because it is so loose. Guess my foot is too narrow.

Bought my latest pair of shoes about three years ago and the stitching on the soles at the toe is worn away, which causes water to enter even with small amounts of rain on the ground. The earlier model has much thicker, better constructed soles and lasted for years. This model does not meet the LL Bean quality I've come to expect.

The wide size (10 1/2) that I ordered were too tight and short and the Freeport store did not have my size. I was told the new shipment had not yet arrived.

These shoes seem like a cheap imitation of a vsry similar version put out by Bass. Although they are on my feet now, probably wont buy them again.

Terrible fit once I put them on, bulged in some areas and appear to be poorly made. Not what I was hoping for nor expecting. Back they go.

This is my 5th pair of these boat Mocs. Obviously I'm a big fan of them. Usually they are very comfortable right out of the box. But this pair is very uncomfortable. I kept thinking they need to be broke in but that's not it. I don't know if the construction of the Moc has been changed or not but they are definately not the same.

I've had these shoes for about a year. These are the most uncomfortable boat shoes I have ever had (and I've worn many over the years). They lack comfort all over and have little support in the forefoot. For years I wore a competing brand but decided to try Beans again. Mistake. Waste of $$.
