Tried this on in-store and loved everything about them, except for the pocket.....what? Why a pocket in a base layer, especially one whose zipper pull will rub against an outer layer?!! I'm 5'3", 105 lbs, and the XS was a perfect fit. Not too sheer but even if it were, this is a base layer. Happily purchased the matching top, but not these bottoms. Arcteryx, your designs are usually so mindful.....please remove the pocket on future revisions!

These are the best merino base layer I own, and I have many wool base layers. They're plenty warm on their own for skiing in the PNW when the temps are in the 20's, and when it gets colder than that, they are still thin enough to layer under a pair of tights or puffy pants. I can also wear them for a couple of days (including hiking and sweating in them) before they start to smell. In terms of sizing, they are pretty true to size. I go between a M and L and chose an L for these. The L has plenty of stretch/room without being baggy. I love them so much that I bought a 2nd pair.

Great base layer. Yes they're see through but they're not meant to be leggings worn on their own. Perfect for winter sports keep you warm outside, feel light, and don't make you uncomfortably warm indoors.

I was looking for a merino wool base layer and these are perfect. They are warm, soft and sleek. They fit great under my hiking and ski pants. I actually wear them quite regularly by themselves when at home.

An ideal base layer. Not as opaque as I was expecting considering the reviews. Would wear as leggings - I did order a size up.

I bought these to wear at night on fall backpacking trips and they were very comfortable. I particularly appreciated the comfortable waistband and higher rise. They are not fully opaque so I would not wear them on their own, but I am happy with my purchase and am sure that I will wear them as a base layer throughout the winter on chilly days as well.

I have been wearing these long johns all winter long. They are super thin and yet keep me warm on most cold days. They feel like silk on and I never feel restricted. My favorite base layer pants to date.

I bought them in XL even though my normal size is L. They are just too much "next to skin". Yes, they are thin and see through, but they also do the job what a light base layer should do. I don't recommend to wear them as a stand-alone piece. They are soft and warm and feel great under pants during cold days. Yes, I do recommend them. Just try them before purchase, and don't wear them as a stand-alone piece.

These base layers surprised me! Mainly because I never find base layers that also look good, but these are incredibly flattering - the seam on the back is curved to accentuate your peach shape :) The high waist also stays put - I wear them for backcountry skiing, resort skiing, and also wore them in a climbing gym when we got rained out and I had no other clothes to wear. They are quick drying, don't stink, and are very comfortable. I hope Arcteryx comes out with more colors. I definitely want to get a few more of these. I ordered more normal size (S) and found them to be sheer in some spots - which is fine since they are base layers. However if I wanted to wear them as leggings, I'd probably size up one size. The pocket fits a decent amount. Fits my iPhone 13 Pro Max or a Passport + credit cards. I'm 5'6 and the length was perfect, hits right at the bottom of my ankles.

These are my go to base-layers. This product is not intended to be worm on its' own as tights, but instead layer with outer pants and used as an insulting layer. They fit small and do become somewhat sheer when worn (I ordered a medium, although I'm normally a small, and these fit). They are warm and live up to the merino wool standard. I use these for cross country skiing and everyday activities in the Canadian arctic. I've worn for multiple days (while sweating during ski trips) and the shirt doesn't smell.

These are perfect, so comfy and actually fit with some stretch because of the elastane. I will get more pairs for the ski season. They are not see through and are super soft and cozy. They fit true to size.

I recently purchased and love this product for layering. The pants are see through, but I don't mind as I use these for extra warmth for layering.

I bought these to replace an older pair of Rho wool bottoms that I loved and have been wearing for years. The fit is really similar to my old ones, which means a really flattering, comfortable cut with a smaller waist and ample room for my athletic legs. I sized up one size this time in hopes they'd be a little less see through to wear around the ski resort. They're not, but I don't care. They're so comfy and warm and I love that they don't need a drawstring on the waist to stay up. The new pocket that fits my iPhone is a nice touch too. They're perfect to throw on for cold nights on alpine trips and backpacking. I'm usually a 4/6 and purchased a medium, although I think a small could've worked too.

I love these layers, I have them in every color! I am always warm and fashionable too. I always get compliments when I wear these. Some colors can be a bit see through but that's okay because I wear them under my ski pants.

Bought these to replace a size S Smartwool brand baselayer that got holes in it. Since I do understand wool bottoms can get running holes easily if stretching while putting on, I sized up to a M and these are quite form fitting but much more comfortable than the Smartwool given the extra band at the higher waist. The black and dark green colors are lovely. No issues with them being see through. Of note, the size M matching top is very loose on me. I am 5'6" 136 lbs, usually wear a small in tops and size 4-6 in pants. Arc'Teryx usually runs small so I sized up on both.

These long johns are like your favorite pair of leggings - but wool! So even better for keeping you warm and dry in the mountains! My favorite part of these is the waistband. Its a great stretch material that goes up and over your mid section and stays up. Its very comfortable and makes you feel like everything is tucked in nicely under your outerwear. the wool is soft and warm , not itchy! Then only downfall of these bottoms is that they are a bit see through - so dont plan on wearing them as a stand alone piece.

Great base layer for backpacking and hiking in cooler temps. I love the soft next to skin feel! I gave it a 4 star because the stitching in the inner thigh area is a bit bumpy, wish it would flatten out instead of bunching up more when walking. I would love to try another pair in dark sapphire blue. Please improve the stitching and make more colors.

I really love how finde this material is but also warm. Wore them hiking in Canmore for several days in the fall. Really outstanding. My only comment is that I found there to be some holes developing in the crotch area on the seams. I am very careful with my merino wool and care for it quite well, and have never seen this before. I mended the whole, but it's in an awkward spot so

I got these to use as a base layer for snow sports and hiking. After reading multiple reviews noting they were see-through, I sized up from my normal size (small, 4) to a medium. They are very comfortable and keep me warm, but still completely see-through. It's a bummer because I can't just take off my snow pants after I get off the mountain.

Purchased the item in Sunshine (yellow) and immediately returned and they were completely see through. Disappointed because the fit was great, nice high rise, flat stitching and soft wool. Just can't start going around with everyone seeing through my pants.

These are see through. I'm 5'8" 165 athletic bought size L,fit great but can see my underwear through them. Was hoping they could double as leggings but it's just enough that I'm not very confident in them.
