Fantastic shoe! I have purchased this item twice before, this is the newest model of the same shoe and did not disappoint. Rugged and supportive. I'll be back for another pair when I need a replacement.

This is an update to my review from 19Feb2023. These shoes have proven to be just what I needed for sturdiness and comfort. Performance has been great on hikes along my favorite trails. The comfort has also been a big plus as I now don't mind wearing to and from my hikes. As mentioned in my previous review, I wear a light wool sock and ordered a size 10 which is 1/2 size up from other shoes I own. Feet can certainly vary person-to-person, but those finding these uncomfortable may have ordered the wrong size or expect too much support from the low rise style when hiking steep and uneven terrain or climbing rock areas off trail. Mine fit great for flat and steep trails. Pictures here from a hike yesterday on a favorite trail in a national park near home.

First time wore them for three days hiking in the rain at Acadia. No blisters. Dry feet. Great boots! Glad I bought the waterproof version.

I purchased the Keen Circadian water proof hikers. At first glance of these shoes, I'm immediately impressed with the looks. Overall, a good, solid looking shoe. After a closer inspection, I noticed how well made they are with double stitching at every seam, thick tread and a sturdy rubber toe. The people at Keen must be avid hikers because they have had the foresight to address issues that might arise from hiking rough trails.
In some of the reviews I read before purchasing these hikers, reviewers said they rubbed their toes, therefore were not comfortable. I can honestly say, I've been wearing them all afternoon hiking and find them to be very comfortable, in fact more so than my previous hiking shoes which were more expensive and a popular brand.

I look for a good sturdy comfortable shoe- but not 'clunky' or heavy. These are my favorite shoes for traveling and everyday wear.

This is my second pair of Keens, after wearing out my first pair over the last 4+ years. I wore them in pretty heavy rotation, mostly city and trail walking. My wife thinks they are quite ugly, but they are extremely comfortable and well made. :) I would definitely recommend them!

Much better than my previous high-top hiking shoes. I wore my previous hikers (different brand size 9 via LLB) several times but they always felt a little too tight in the toes and never wore-in/loosened up. I usually order size 9 or 9.5 depending upon brand. I've owned Keen shoes before, which tend to run a little small for me, so I already planned to go with a 9.5, but decided to order sz10 in these to allow use of a little thicker sock. Glad I did!
I hike mostly in parks (local, state and national) on usually well-maintained trails but some include rocky paths. Shoe will probably be fine with a normal athletic sock, but fits and feels best with my wool hiking socks. For weather flexibilty, I have ankle height and normal crew height wool hiking socks which both feature some cushioning on bottom. This Keen low cut style shoe still feels secure while my toes greatly appreciate the room. I usually like grommets and metal hoops for lacing but fabric hoops here do allow for easy lacing and on-off; hopefully lasting through full shoe life. Sole is good width for feeling well-balanced. I'm glad I got these, especially with LLB price break, in time for Spring hiking. They are just right for me.

My experience with ordering and returning these shoes probably tested LL Bean's customer service to to the max, but LL Bean came out looking great! Here's the story:
After talking with a customer service representative, I decided to order a size 10, which is what I received via UPS. I wasn't sure of the fit--the shoes seemed a little large, so I sent them back and requested size 9.5 to try. When I received the size 9.5 shoes, they were way too small. So, I returned the 9.5s and asked for size 10 again. When I received the size 10, surprisingly they were too small! Apparently Keen changed the styling of the shoes, and after a phone call to customer service, it seems as if both styles were in the same shipment that LL Bean received. So, I wrote a letter explaining the situation to customer service, and would you believe it? The customer service people were able to send me the exact same pair of shoes that I had received the first time! (I could tell because when I'd taped the box closed, the tape had wrinkled a little.) And, of course they fit the best of all the shoes I had tried. They're going to be fine on long hikes. I really appreciate the patience that the LL Bean customer service people showed in my situation. Thank you so much!!!!
And now, the "buyer beware:" The makers of Keen shoes seem to be afraid that their shoes with the big toe boxes are too ugly for people to buy; however, the big toe boxes are comfortable and I think they look fine. (We are not doing fashion shoes on backpacking trips!) So, if/when you order this style of Keen shoe, bear in mind that two designs of the toe boxes are possible, but they are not differentiated by shoe model number. Good luck!

Being blessed with a high arch, these shoes fit the bill. They needed a short time to be broken in, which was no problem. The Keen hiking shoe was a suggestion of a LLBean specialist, very happy I took her product experience.

I ordered these as a birthday present to myself and have only worn them to get the feel of them. Out of the box they felt great to wear and had the desired fit. It is my fourth pair ever of Keen boots and shoes and always the fit is true. So on August 31st, my birthday, they will be officially unveiled and I am confident they will be wonderful hiking footwear.
