This is an extremely high quality and gorgeous product. Unlike the previous reviewer, I don't think the arms are not warm enough (and this is coming from someone who is ALWAYS cold). I am 5'4/115, got the parka in XS and it fits perfectly. The cut is very flattering, slimming, and it hits right above my knees. I get compliments on it all the time.

It feels so squishy and cozy, like getting a hug from woolly mammoth but without the awful stench of sweat and muskeg. I just wish it came in turquoise.

It's warm for the weight, true to size, and elegant, yet sporty looking. Blocks the wind and sheds the rain very well. Perfect for cold and wet days. It could be a bit shorter.

I bought this coat two or so years ago. I've LOVED it! It's warm enough for most days in Michigan's winters, and it's not overly bulky in appearance. I've worn this coat EVERYWHERE. My coat is pretty well worn out, so I ordered another. I just received it, and I'm disappointed. It has the Arcteryx logo prominently plastered on the hood. Because of that prominent logo, this coat is only good for very casual wear. I would never wear a logoed coat to a dressy occasion. This edition is not the coat I've loved. Get rid of the prominent logo!

I'm really happy with this parka. Coverage on the upper leg makes a big difference in balancing out the warmth provided by the coat, and the zip can be opened from the bottom, which allows me to use the parka in active situations. Feels great to be comfortable outside for long periods. I've had several people remark on how nice the coat looks.

It is gorgeous, comfortable, and windproof. Hasn't gotten cold enough in Madison to see if it will pass that test, but I am hopeful. Love the color! I initially bought size S but it was too tight in the chest. I was worried size M would be huge through the hips but it is great.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
This jacket is light weight. Slim cut all around. I am 5’ tall and I got an XS in black and it does not have too much room for layering. But it looks sleek and nice. It fits longer than my other winter parkas. Good coverage to keep the body warm. However not sure why the shell attracts lints before I start wearing it.

I bought the Patera Parka online a few weeks ago since the store did not carry XXS. I especially like the dark hazelnut color. It was very warm when I tried it on indoor. I did not try it outdoor as even with XXS, it was too long, fall below the knee, and too wide in general for me. Im 51 and 95 lbs. Even though it was light and had a comfortable feel, I returned it. I hope Arcteryx will come out with a size for the parka that fits petite women. I like it a lot but it doesnt fit.

I bought this coat yesterday in store and was assured that it would be warm enough but sadly after wearing it for 1 day I wish I had purchased something else. In order to stay marginally warm in 17degree Fahrenheit weather I had to layer a cashmere sweater and a wool hoodie to get through the day. I'll need to add a technical layer daily plus a sweater (2 sweaters is insanely bulky) and I still wont be super warm. Even with the layers today I could feel the cold. This is not a proper parka for below freezing temps. Seems great for fall and very early spring but not for Jan, Feb and March. I would have spent a bit more to get a proper parka from this brand and been cozy but now I'm going to have to layer way too much and not be comfortable. Even more frustrating that I took the time to go to the store and ask questions etc. Also, the zipper is glitchy and it's been 1 day. This is a great brand so I am surprised.

I've had this coat for nearly two years and it is so warm and comfortable. I don't need to wear a sweater under it when the temperature is above 30. The coat is so light which is surprising considering the outer goretex layer. It is just a tad long on me (I'm 5'3") but others have told me that it doesn't look too long.

I love Arcteryx but having worn a Centrale for many many years this parka was disappointing. It is not as warm as the Centrale and longer--falling below the knee. The length for a 5'3 person was not a good look:)! I returned the parka and continue to wear my old Centrale that has a malfunctioning zipper. All that being said the fit is to size.

This jacket has been better than I expected. It is form fitting, but not restrictive. Doesnt look bulky, and a really nice length. Im 54 and the length is just above my knees. Its also been very warm with minimal layers underneath which I love!

Wonderful coat. Very attractive shape, kind of clean cut and trim. Very warm. And yes it is waterproof. My only issue with it is that it is under-pocketed like everything for women. The men's version has an exterior pocket, this one doesn't. It would be 10 out of 5 stars if it had: external zip pocket AND large sling pockets inside the coat for something like a hat.

This is the best parka ever. It is very warm, yet the weight is light. The surface is GORE TEX which will definitely protect me from rain and snow in New England. The new color, Boxcar, is outstanding in winter when black outwear dominates. All the specifications of this parka are amazing. You will never regret.

Purchased Patera Parka in 2022, overall the coat is light weight, petite size has the perfect sleeves and coat length and waterproof, however the tiny snap buttons are of poor quality, and inadequate for coat of this calibre, as they easily 'pop open'. These tiny snap buttons are suited for tops such as blouses, shirts, etc, not for a winter GORE-TEX down coat.

10 stars for this massive hood with slight bill. The coat is very stylish and flattering. This is definitely a city persons coat... very slick. It will definitely keep me dry and seems reasonably warm, though I'll need to layer for sure. Only change I'd ask for on it are more pockets. IMO, all winter coats should have an interior AND exterior chest zip pockets, along with low interior mesh or sling pockets for something like a hat. True to size.

An okay coat. Not super warm for Canadian weather, maybe could be comfortable up until -5 C but dont expect it to keep you warm without a sweater underneath. Started to show wear and discolouration after 2 years despite only wearing it occasionally and carefully washing it once with special detergent. This cost is not built to last. I found the hood to be too big and unable to block all the ice and snow. For the price I as expecting

I purchased this jacket in Dec 2020 knowing I would be spending a lot of the winter outside. I read some reviews about the zipper but ignored them figuring these people were exaggerating. The jacket is definitely warm and has some nice features like the wrist cuff. However my biggest complaint is that recently (after 2 winters of mild wear - mostly walking my dog and driving in a car to work) the zipper pull ripped completely off. This left me with a half zipped coat during an extremely cold 8pm NFL playoff game. The worst part was I could not unzip the coat so I had to have someone yank it off of my many layered form. It has now been 3 weeks since I've contacted the company with no solutions. As an aside, another company (who highly values sustainability and has a comparable product) completely replaced a zipper on a used jacket and only charged my $5 for the shipping. I think if you are purchasing a high end item like this it should last. Hoping for some follow up from the company and if that happens I will absolutely update my review.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I really wanted this coat for its lightweight and sleek style but I hate the design of the collar/hood section. I’m 5’2” so perhaps a taller person wouldn’t have this issue but for me, zipping it up to keep my neck warm means having a very stiff collar in my face. On a winter coat I think there must be a soft inner collar to make the neck snug without hampering the ability to eat (for example) or breath and it definitely should not chafe. I couldn’t adjust this to have the hood up without 1/2 my face being covered. Also I don’t ever like a zipper in my face and neck. In cold weather this painful. I’m looking for something with a separate inner down collar and maybe a zip off hood. For a city coat this is the best option as wearing a hood when dressed up looks dumb. The coat is otherwise beautifully made and it’s clean lines make it fine for dinner out or whatever. For the price I expect perfection.
