Amazing shoes just what my size 15 needed, too bad I can't get a straight answer when more will arrive.

I had to return the shoes I ordered, but we have an Altra dealer in town and I found the PERFECT pair of waterproof shoes! They are actually men's, not women's, but they fit like they were made for my feet. This is my 3rd pair of Altras, and only one have I been able to order without trying them on. (Probably because I ordered the exact same shoe I wore out!)

I'd recommend ordering 1/2 size larger than usual. 9.5 in Lone Peak 6's fits me perfect. Need a 10 in the Men's Olympus 5 Low GTX. Bought them as a secondary shoe for the AT for a little more protection.

I'm using these as my winter all-weather trail walker and hiker. So far they have kept me feet warm and dry. I love the wider Altra toe box. This is my third pair of Altras.

Have enjoyed these shoes as best zero drop option and , allowed me to enjoy running again but durability and lack of decent weather proof tech had been an issue. Finally Goretex! Love the new option and enjoying them already this winter, thank you!

I wear these shoes as my golf shoes, and all around athletic shoes. I can say I've never had a more comfortable pair of shoes and they're lasting way longer than my Salomon's and my Saucony's. I'm honestly surprised that Alta doesn't make a golf shoe, as the wide base is perfect for lowering your score. Great job!!

Wet environment, trails and light hiking. Very comfortable and durable especially in wet environments and challenging trails. I have tried at least 12 different pair of shoes and these are the only ones would do the job for winter outdoors activities.

I was impressed with these shoes. They are not light and responsive like a running shoe but rather heavy like a boot. Once they are on, the weight is not as noticeable. But they are still heavy. The shoe is not as wide as I expected (based on the foot shaped design) but is true to width and fits comfortably. Wearing the shoe you feel like you are raised a bit (kind of like a platform) but that's because of the zero drop (flat sole) I felt that the exterior was very durable and although all of my excursions has been in fair weather, these would keep your feet protected from the elements. These are very comfortable and have a sock like feel while being worn.

When the shoe first arrived I wasn't sure what to think. They are rather wide because of the concept and design behind them. I really wanted to log some decent miles on them to see how they fared. Once I got used to the extra width of the shoe I was very impressed with the comfort they provided. I put about 200 miles of hiking on them so far and they are holding up well and are very comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a more barefoot experience while still getting full support and protection.

This is my first Altra shoe, and I now understand the hype. These are outstanding hiking shoes. The wide footbed is the first thing I noticed. It gives my toes freedom to spread and helps with mobility, especially on steeper terrain. The Vibram outsole and lugs provide great traction - I only wish I was able to test it in mud with the gore-tex (very dry here in Cali). The shoe has a sturdy structure to it while still allowing ample ankle movement and bend at the toes. Lastly I'm very pleased with the black look - it's stylish but minimalist as well, goes with all my gear. The shoe does take some breaking in, it's pretty firm at first, but then it's golden. And this is definitely a structured and cushioned shoe. Great for hiking. If you're new to Altra shoes, these are definitely different from other shoes. Takes a bit to get used to the wide look, but the performance and feel easily outweigh. They are a tad heavier than I would have preferred, but I got used to it fast. Overall a fantastic, cushioned, structured and grippy low hiker. Absolutely recommend!

Excellent for difficult mountain hikes. I've tackled camelback and piestewa peak so far. Excellent grip on rock surfaces. Camelback has two sections that are almost vertical, these were great to keep steady. Post hikes, no issues with calluses or soreness.

These hiking shoes will help you get to where you are going! They not only fit well, but they also help you concur the conditions you are facing to get to your destination. Good grip on wet rock, good support, and they look good to boot (get it?)! Highly recommend.

These are some of the best hiking shoes I have had the pleasure of wearing. They fit well while providing great stability when navigating the terrain. The only problem was that they were stiff the first couple hours they were a little stiff but that's to be expected with shoes this sturdy. I feel like my feet are well protected while still being a to maneuver as needed. The shoes also look good which isn't usually the case with hikers. I feel like they will hold up well but won't know for sure until many hikes, which I look forward to with these.

These shoes were a great find for me. I've worn them for a few hikes and they provide great support but at the same time are comfortable to wear.

The shoes fit great and are so comfortable. It takes a bit to get used to the larger wide and how it affects that looks of the shoe. The soles are so good walking over gravel and the gription is great and stable. I am curious how they will perform in the snow but I think they will be great from what I have experienced so far.

I am large-framed, non-runner Had sore feet for years. Then got the Torin 4.5 with 0 drop and original wide foot bed. Altra changed to regular bed, did not fit. Feels great, better cushion, durable

Olympus I have been monitoring the 5's durability closely since my first wear, as many reviews had me concerned. On trails, my pair has seemingly adequate durability thus far. On cement, I have scuffed a few areas of the sole's orange rubber fairly easily, but what I think some people fail to grasp is that this shoe has AMAZING grip. The traction control is literally out of this world, like teeth sinking into the earth. What that means is the rubber vibram provided on this project is so intensely tacky/sticky, it is going to be excessive for frequent cement contact. The ideal conditions in mind are wet/dry grass turf, mulch, rocks, dirt, pinestraw, sand, roots/stick, cobblestone, moss etc. (trail terrain). Having so much traction on the soles for offroad conditions means the overly adequate conditions, like dry cement, will make the rubber pull off the shoe early. Because it is designed for scenarios where very little ground traction is available, the sole is designed to be as sensitive as possible to sacrifice its material for ground contact. You have way less adequate ground contact on trails than on roads and sidewalks. So in a trail use case scenario, this wears normal (maybe some QC exceptions). It is a trail shoe, albeit there may be some confusion with the chance the gtx may initially come across as more trail oriented (which I admittedly misunderstood at first lol). Footbed cushion is dense to adequately fortify ligaments and tendons, metatarsal region laid out with medical precision. This is the best running shoe in the world.

Like walking on a cloud!!! MAKES ME WANT TO WALK!!!! Well worth the money- your feet and knees are so very important- get these shoes, you won't be sorry! Craig Mains uses them on the Appalachian Trail- he has hiked the trail more than five times!!!! Even did a YoYo in 2019 using Olympus Altra!!! They are light weight and very durable. Normally, I am a 10.5 wide but 11 normal width is perfect!!!!

Most shoes hurt my pinky toe so badly because they're not made for people with a wife ball-joint/toe box. I discovered Altra shoes at a local shoe store and fell in love. I own 3 pairs now for different situations.

Have been wearing these for a little over a week now and did Mt Major in NH with them practically out of the box. VERY grippy, super comfortable - but extremely stable. Wish they had more colorways but they do the job.

I just ordered and got next-day. But, my old Altras were size 10, so I order 10 on these. Just sent them back and no question will need an 11. I have some neuropathy in my right toes, and Altras are literally the only shoe that have the wide toe box that works. Grateful!
