I bought these shoes on a whim after trying to find a replacement for the speedgoat 5. These have much better lockdown on the entire foot and overall are just a fantastic shoe. I've racked up 100 miles in around 3 weeks here in Colorado in all different kinds of conditions (snow, roots, rocks, gravel, buffed out trails) and I haven't had any issues. My foot at times can feel a bit warm in the shoe, but that might just come down to my sock choice!

This was my first pair of S/lab and I have been very happy with the purchase. I also run in the Ultra Glide 2 and will continue to run both for different terrain and paces. The S/lab Genesis has been a great shoe for rugged and technical trails. These have allowed me to run confidently on some sketchy terrain that other shoes would not have been able to handle. The tread is solid in mud and loose rock - much better than the Ultra Glides for that. I have about 150 miles on these so far and can say that the fit has been true to size and they feel comfortable at distances up to 50k with no blisters or hot spots. I will be taking these out for a 50 miler soon and have no doubt that they will perform well. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a medium / standard width trail shoe for rugged or muddy terrain at distances beyond 25K.

The durability and comfort of these is unmatched. Prior to these I had Limited Edition S/Lab Ultra 3s, and I suffered from sand and other trail debris entering the holes at the bottom of the tongue/the top of the vamp. These, however, have a perfect fix with an added layer on the upper that still allows for breathability without as much exposure.

S/Lab genesis surprisingly larger toe box, lighter, and softer than other Salomon shoes. I have run many ultras including 100 plus miles with this shoes and never had any issues regarding foot pain, blisters. Definitely worth try it. I

Easily the best trail runner that Salomon has ever made. This one accommodates wider feet, is a little softer cushioned and built like a tank. Best outsole by Salomon to date as well. The upper is well built too, Love the collard gaiter.. A lot to like here.

Feels like I've been waiting forever for this shoe to arrive. Lost track of the number of Salomon shoes I've ordered as someone said they are a bit wider than normal... had to send every pair back. Don't get me wrong, these do not fit wide, but they are notably wider than the typical Salomon shoe and fit me like a glove. My normal go to shoe is a Hoka Speedgoat or Tecton X(2), so if you like the width of those, these might be worth a go. Love the cushion, fit and tread, great for a variety of terrain and seasons. So happy to see this model carried forward into the 2024 line-up. This shoe is now a staple in my quiver and will not be my only pair I'm sure. I've got around 200K on this pair and they are holding up well. No complaints here.

My first trail run in these was 12+ Miles. Then I ran a trail 1/2 marathon in Moab. Comfortable and supportive I had no blisters and no knee pain. I've barely broken them in and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

The Genesis fit is exceptional. Light, breathable and fast on all terrain. Drains well on those long boggy or slushy runs.

These shoes have awesome grip, do great on wet rocks, mud, and technical trails. They're a bit wider than the typical Salomon shoe, fit securely on my foot, and aren't overly heavy. They're comfortable and lock in your heel well too.

Great out of the box experience. Fit is great, true to size. The semi-gaiter sock liner fits comfortable and does not allow any debris to come in. Shoes are breathable and create no hot spots. The upper materials are well made, so I expect this shoe will last for a while. Mid sole has good cushion and outer sole is nice and grippy.

Having waited for what seemed like an eternity for these to be in stock, they finally arrived ready for TRV 2023 (had wanted them for TRV 2022 but were always out of stock); they proved to be a great shoe for running on rocks and on/in volcanic ash. Hardly any debris got inside the shoe and I found the stability across rocky terrain to be awesome.

I've been an S/Lab fan for years and have tried every model made but my 1 issue had been a dependable looooong distance trainer that protected my feet while I pounded the miles. I'm ok with giving up weight for speed to races but for building mileage I found that all of the other S/Lab shoes needed a bit more protection in my environment in southwestern BC - even the Ultra 3. The Genesis is exactly what I was looking for at this time of year while I'm building mileage. They're bulkier and a bit looser than a typical S/Lab but the materials are as you'd expect and they have a sock-like feel. The lace box is large and easy to fill/access which makes tightening the shoes for downhill easy and fast. They have quite a bit of cushioning so you feel the trail a bit less but I don't find them unbalanced or tippy. Overall they've done a great job building a solid distance shoe. 350 km on them so far and they're like new

Been a fan of the Speed-cross syle for a long time. This is my first purchase of a pair from the SLAB edition . They are amazingly comfortable and provide support where needed in my feet.

This is actually my second pair as I use women when one pair is drying out and I'm running the next day . I absolutely love these trainers their perfect for me , I did use the ultra 2 but they didn't cut it regarding their durability, the Genesis are fabulous on all types of terrain , I'm training for the UTS 100 so I have plenty of miles in the shoes their well protected on rock their very durable , great in the wet and mud , great for long distance comfort, excellent fit They are the best Salomon trainers I've used so far !

I purchased the shoe after reading a comment on the site about possibly being better than the Sense Pro. I was a big Sense Pro and disappointed they aren't available. I took a leap and order this shoe, it hasn't disappointed and continues to be the shoe I reach for over my other options (Sense Ride 5 or the S/Lab Ultra 3s). Highly recommend if you were a Sense Pro fan.

I have been waiting for a more suited shoe to surpass the slab ultra3. The Genesis has better traction and more cushion. Absolutely love the semi gaiter ankle protection and lightweight design. I use these shoes for mountain running here in Alaska. So far I have put about 200 miles on them. I can guarantee that I will test the durability of the Genesis. So far they have held up nicely.

Outstanding shoe. It handles great on most surfaces (wet, full coverage rock is a bit dicey). The slightly padded tongue is nice. Shoes drained very well when going thru creeks on a 43 mile adventure. Shoes were padded enough that doing all of these miles on the crazy Pinhoti rocks did not have a terrible impact on the bottoms of my feet. I would strongly recommend these shoes. I won't wear them a ton on training runs, but these are certainly being saved for races and for longer efforts on mixed terrain. This shoe reminds me of a better version (if there can be one) of the Sense Pro - my favorite race shoe. I typically run in the Speedcross (favorite) or the SenseRide (great, but only for half mara distance or less). The soles are closer to a Sense sole. The added upper saves me from using a gaiter.

My beloved wildcross 2 died and needed some replacements. Pretty much all of salomon's new shoes are ugly, including these, though they look better once they get dirty. The tread, protection and cushion seem pretty good so far. Rubber is a good compromise between grip and longevity, not as grippy as the wildcross, but look like they'll last longer. I need to get new custom insoles for these as they are quite a bit bigger than all my past salomons of same size and my old ones don't fit. With the stock footbed you can expect your foot to slide around a little, or you can expect the top of your foot to be a little uncomfortable because you have to cinch the quicklace down a little too tight. My biggest grip with these is the fabric, I have no idea what they were thinking with it, other then yes Maybe it's durable? But they don't let air through, so are very hot, yet water goes through like there is nothing there. They are as hot as my speedcross 6 gore tex, but offer none of the benefits. Also the little sock ankle gator is nice, but they might as well have made it a little longer so it actually prevent more debris from getting in.

Good all rounder and as usual very comfortable. But they are not suitable on wet rock or soft ground/grass where they offer absolutely no grip whatsoever. A wet weekend in the English Lakes and I slipped over so many times and had zero confidence on rocky or grassy descents. I'd recommend them in the dry but not the wet. I bought them for the Dragons Back but after a weekend test I need something else more suitable.
