These base layers are phenomenal. The comfort is unmatched when it comes to base layer pants like these. The material is super soft and comfortable next to skin and is a delight for really cold days or nights. I find myself camping in the cold quite often and I'll wear these to bed every time and sleep like a baby. I've had them for many months now and they've held up very well. No noticeable wear at all. The pant is quite stretchy too and feels like high quality material. They are great for time around camp once the sun goes down and things cool off. I've worn them climbing a couple times and for single pitch cragging in the cold, these are a great. Get a little warm if you're moving around a lot but for skiing, these would be great. Overall, I have been super impressed by the comfort and warmth of this pants. If these ever blow out I will most certainly be scooping another.

Have had a pair of black ones & use them every day as well as a pair for skiing. Skied in Eastern Canada -20F used them under a bib. Also keels your bottom warm on the chair. A winner!

These are a great base layer to be used with a shell pant. Used them this past weekend skiing in Vail where the temperature on the first day was 40 and the second day was 25. Performed very well.

Great product. My only complaint is the thigh pocket zipper sticks out through the pants I wear over them. They keep me nice and warm. They are thicker than most thermals but not bulgy at all.

I have two pairs of these and I have to control myself in order to not overwear them as I literally live in these all winter. Thick and warm, they are great against the skin for cold activities without a lot of cardio and sweating, like downhill skiing, belaying or really cold days (below -10c). These things are great and then at the end of the day you can just drop your shell and wear these around all evening until bed. No need to shower and change, just lie around the house in these evening lounge pants. Highly recommended for these activities, I love mine.

I have gladly used RHO bottoms for many years, and now got a new pair of thicker material. This is ideal to be worn under shell pants to prevent cold when sitting in chairlifts or breaks between touring. The lighter model is too cold and always had to wear extra long-johns under shell pants, but this heavyweight material solves the problem completely!

I tend to like a slightly thicker base layer on my legs and these are the ones. Breathable, warm and super comfy.

Bought them for skiing but wear them around the house under a pair of shorts they are so comfy. They fit nice and tight, are quite stretchy and long. Great if you are a bit taller. Super high quality feel and worth the money over merino if you ask me.

These are a fantastic base layer for low and high output activities where heavy insulation is needed. Paired with the Alpha pants these kept me very comfortable on the mountain at 20F (5F windchill).

Muy clido y elstico. Permite moverse con facilidad y desliza muy bien bajo un pantaln de goretex. Es el tercero que tengo y este ultimo talla manifiestamente ms pequeo que los anteriores.

The Rho heavyweight is really well made, super warm and cozy. The stretchiness makes movements easy. Will be using it for skiing.

I bought this a month ago as a warm base layer for ski touring and it's exactly what I wanted! Great fit!!!

I bought this due to the excellent wear, warmth, wicking, fit and quality of a RHO Heavyweight Top and Bottom I bought last year. It seems this set of RHO Heavyweight doesn't fill as thick as my previous pair. The RHO bottoms which are large fit tighter and different from my previous large bottoms.

Wore them for the first time today to test them. Was 20 Fahrenheit, sunny day. Wind was about 6 mph. I went for a walk and wore them as my only lower layer. Given the conditions, I found them surprisingly comfortable. Well, my legs were not warm, they were not cold either. I think this was partly due to the sun, given they got a little cooler when I was walking in the shade. Overall, they kept my legs comfortable on the walk. My intention is to use them as a base layer under my ski pants. They fit like pseudo-tights. Not too tight and not too loose. The lining is very comfortable against the skin. I have a 35 inch waist and 32 inch inseam. I chose Large which appears to be the appropriate size.

Absolutely fantastic fit, warmth, comfort, flexibility, etc. Good for indoor/outdoor, anywhere, really. One of the best purchases.

The devil is in the details here.... I bought some HH bases at the same time and upon initial review, I figured the HH was every bit as good. But not so, Arc'teryx just does it better. But you pay for that "better". Consider it this way, do you want to wear one or two base layers? These are like two of "the other company's" bases.

I lost my beloved pair of TNF summit series polar tech stretch base layer pants and I thought they were gone forever! This is the exact same product WITH a laminated pocket. I'm 6'3" with long legs (35" inseam) and the insane stretch of these just finds its way down to where it needs to be. They are snug fitting and act as a baselayer, but putting a traditional baselayer underneath would not be impossible. The face of the fabric is smooth and layers well with trekking pants or ski bibs. My only complaint is that the website did not include a fabric gsm. This is included in baselayer descriptions, but never fleece. Most people shopping arcteryx are fabric dorks that need to know these facts to build their layering arsenal. I would guess this piece somewhere around 350 gsm - very warm. Not feasible to wear in above -30 celcius for high intensity activities like running or cross country skiing unless its a stand alone. Phenomenal layer to have in the quiver.

I bought this a month ago and happy with the warmth of these bottoms.. I sized up since I am an athletic build and the large would be a bit tight and not allow another layer underneath for the very cold days skiing at one of the coldest ski resorts in Canada. On -20C days I will wear the Rhos along with a Phase AR underneath an insulated ski pant for resort skiing.

This is my 2nd pair. These are the best base layer available anywhere IMO. For a typical ski day all I need is this base layer under my arcteryx shell and I'm good to go. If it's particularly cold, I throw on one additional base layer and happy as a clam.

Disclaimer only used for a day. I tried these on at the Kitsilano re-opening, just on a whim while walking to the change room and was immediately impressed with the warmth and comfort! I am a huge Icebreaker customer and I swear by their base layers, but theses feel more comfortable and the waist is a "soft elastic" which greatly adds to the comfort. I will need to take these through their paces but so far phenomenal and would recommend you at least try. Also worth mentioning I was so impressed with them I had my wife try them on and it was an immediate yes for her as well. She ended up getting both the top and bottom in black and was worn immediately when we got home. Easy purchase.
