I wanted a stylish brown boot that I could wear in the rain or snow and then wear into a restaurant in the city. These are clunky, plain-looking, and the treads are too large. There's not much style. They don't look like the picture online. The Leather is smooth and plain; in the picture the leather has texture. The lace holes are not shiny like they are in the picture. I'm returning them.

Felt great and looked great, but after 4 months the sole on the right boot began to come off after only using them a few days out of the week to walk on pavement.

They are fine. Wish the top 2 or 3 eyelets were hooks. Little too long also.

Love the boot style and fit, at least for the first few months of wear. After that I had to buy inserts as I felt the fit change drastically. I also noticed my feet were starting to feel unstable in the shoe. In looking at the shoe I realized that the heels of the shoe were worn completely down. This changed the entire way my feet fit on the platform of the shoe causing discomfort and an unstable shoe. Don't expect more than a few months out of this shoe if you wear them regularly.

I love them except...after about two months some stitching came apart, not too bad, livable. When the soles started separating is when I started to be disappointed. VERY, VERY comfortable and stylish! I love the way the leather ages. I rated it three stars until I see what Timberland is going to do about it.If they make it right and do something about the obvious defect, I'd be more than happy to give them 5 stars!

The boots fit great out of the box which is to be expected with the softer leather. That said, the sole wore out after a year or so of casual use. I understand the Earthkeeper is eco-friendly; however, boots of this price/caliber (Timberland) should last several seasons. Had them re-soled by a recommended shoe repair shop yet the gum sole could not be replicated.

Wore these boots for everyday use for a year before having to retire them. They're super comfortable and look GREAT with jeans -- at first. A few months in I could tell the rubber sole was compressing from use, and the upper was widening to accomodate my wide foot. The upper does not hold structure well (it's soft leather, after all) and the result looked more like flippers than sturdy boots. I ended up wearing them on a hike up Mt Washington, which turned out to be their last use, as the sole on one foot started peeling away. I replaced them with a pair of LL Bean Katahdin Iron Works Engineer boots and can tell they will last me much longer than the Earthkeepers. I'd recommend these boots with the caveat that regular, everyday use will wear them out rather quickly (in my opinion) for a $180 boot.

This boot is perfect for walking in ideal weather conditions (sunny, warm and dry), that's about all it can do. If you push these boots beyond that then irregular wear and tear will surface along the soles and where the stitching meets especially near the base of the shoe. I live in Canada and after four months I noticed centimeter tear along the upper forefoot stitching on the right boot then along the left 2 weeks after. For $180 you could probably find a more durable but far less fashionable boot. I wouldn't REC this to friends because all my friends are pretty hard on their footwear and based on what I put these through $180 is a hard sell.

Good for style but not actual outdoor camping application. Sole wears out quickly. This boot, along with all Timberland products run large.

Really love mine. Live in the mountains and snow and they have held up for 2 years now. Only gave 3 stars though because the sole at the toe on both shoes has to be glued, and I had to put an insert in to fill the boot because it ran a little big. The sole has worn out as well. Like I said, I really like this boot especially worn in.. Bummed out I have to replace a boot at this price after two years though.

Great boot for everyday wear. Goes with jeans or slacks. Only issue is that the sole is coming part. I would not have expected this so soon after buying these.

I bought these and right out of the box they were really comfortable, but I wear right at a size 13 and these felt huge at size 13. I ordered wide and the entire boot was too wide, from the heel to the toe. It should have been classified as 3E not EE. That being said, my feet were extremely loose in them, making the thin leather construction slouch and sag all around. The shoe itself was comfortable, just didn't fit right. The real problem I had was the sole started to peel off in less than a month. Returned for a different boot.

Great boots for my two sons and husband, but they run at least a whole size too large and I had to return all three pairs. I will start over again when my account is settled. One of my sons currently has this boot in a shorter version and has been extremely happy with it in a very cold snowy climate this past winter.

Great comfortable boots, but the sole wore out after only 6 months walking around New York. I was pretty disappointed and would not buy another pair.

These are good but not great. I just purchased these shoes for the third time in as many years. The fit is great (they run a size big), the leather is soft and distress well over time, and the price is relatively reasonable. I like these shoes and put many miles on them but, the failures always happen exactly the same. The stitching is weak on the two piece tongue and has to be repaired after three months due to separation, the sole is weak and wears flat in a few months; mileage will vary. If you make it to month 12 the sole will begin to separate. If you are asking; why the would I buy these. They are light weight and "good enough" for light trail day hikes and city jaunts. In the summer my feet rarely get sweaty and they shrug off rain just fine. If you are a city dweller who spends weekends outdoors bar hopping, strolling in the park, or knocking out a loop trail these boots are just fine.

These are nice looking. They run a size big. My toe sole came apart on two different pairs. Do not buy them for everyday use in wet/snow climates. I really liked them untill the sole came apart.

Not as durable as I had expected. Tongue came unstitched within 3 months, and after 1 year the soul began making a popping noise. There are no visual defects in the soul, but as you walk it makes a very loud popping noise with each and every step. It's loud enough for people around you to stop and take notice. I expected more from Timberland and my money.

These shoes took a little getting used to after putting them on when I bought them the first time. I actually bought these due to them being 'waterproof'. It was to an extent but when the water went past the toe, that was the end of it. My feet got wet. Just a heads up for those looking for waterproof boots, these aren’t them.

These shoes look so freakin' good, and yet they fell apart with three months of city wear. The soles wore down an inch in the first month (no joke), and the rest of the boot was soon to follow. I wish Zappos had a durability rating - these are very comfortable and extremely good looking with any pant you wear...but unless you're treating these with the utmost care, they are very, very badly made. Incidentally, the first run of these boots had a design flaw (not sure if it's fixed or not) - the sole is actually two separate pieces glued together. Within the first two weeks, the flaps on one boot came undone (making them wag like an open mouth when I walked), and I had to exchange them for a new pair. Timberland was happy to accommodate, saying they had had a number of returns. The same problem occurred on my new pair about two months later. Little Shoe-Goo solved it, but come on. I expect better.

A Nice Boot But Not As Advertised - I am a boot person--always in search of the "perfect" boot (I probably have 6+ pairs). The Timberland Earthkeepers (dark brown) is a good looking, comfortable boot that can be worn even with fairly dressy clothes. However, to get a good fit, I had to order a 10 rather than my normal 10.5 and wonder now if a 9.5 would have been even better. Also, the medium is rather wide and requires a heavy sock. My main complaint is that the boot is not waterproof as advertised. After less than 30" in the rain, the top of my sock was damp. This is very disappointing.

I have two pairs of these from past years and I love them. I ordered two more pairs and was very disappointed, so they were returned. The color is not what you see in the picture, they are much darker brown.

These are not my every day boot I wear them every so often. They are not breathable and hold odor. Have not had very long, and already are falling apart that stitching.

This is my 8th pair of Earthkeepers I've purchased. Like the design, look and quality of the old ones. My only complaint would be the sole tread and wear. This new version of the Earthkeepers are not quality! Leather, interior are lighter but not quality. The laces are garbage and already coming apart. I've only have these about a month. Stitching coming out and I'm already fixing. Back strap is nylon and not even leather anymore! Soles that should have been upgraded are still the same

They look like work boots, but don't be fooled. Buy these boots if you're just going to walk around a city or office. Don't buy them if you intend to actually use them for working or hiking.

Runs bigger. Looks worn after a few steps. They wrinkle very easily and look old fast
