The only criticism I have of this shoe is it makes my feet look huge.

I have worn Bondi 7 and LOVED them. I cautiously ordered Bondi 8 in the exact same size. They seem slightly shorter and slightly narrower in the actual shoe, although the "footprint" is broader and rounder. See photo - Blue Bondi 7, Black Bondi 8. But I care most about fit and comfort, so would live with the 'clown foot' look! I will try 1/2 size larger and consider men's shoe to see if they are a better fit. (sigh...wish I could get Bondi 7!!)

I have been wearing Hoka for quite awhile due to problem feet. In the past these shoes have provided comfort and support as I am on my feet alot. Because the Bondi 7 has been discontinued I was forced to buy the Bondi 8. Well, I was shocked! This shoe fit NOTHING like the Bondi 7. It felt at least a half size smaller and narrower. AND, fabric: who in the world decided that all mesh fabric surrounding the toe area (where the foot first comes in contact with anything) was a good idea???? The Bondi 7 had a very tough exterior material surrounding this area. And it was made to last. Needless to say I will not be buying the shoe again. The quality is gone from a very popular shoe that was the mainstay of many who enjoyed the outdoors, hiking or just plain walking along a dirt road. These shoes are not worth the price Hoka charges for them. Very disappointed and dismayed.

Toe box on this shoe still feels narrow on me. Maybe wide will work.

i have always worn HOKA - Right now I have 4 HOKA Bondi 6 - great and one pair Bondi 8. The HOKA Bondi 8 is a big disappointment! At first i liked them because i had had surgery on one foot and needed padding. BUT now that i have worn them a while (only 2x a week) they are SO wide that i slosh. I bought the same size i always have (7 Med) They cost too much for me to ditch.

One of the reviews I read before ordering these said they run long, well they do not but they in no way measure up to the Bondi 7's in style, comfort and cushioning, and I should know as I am wearing my 3rd pair of the bondi 7's . Whoever made the decision to discontinue the bondi 7 should be fired.

I loved the Bondi 7 and I’m getting close to wearing out my current pair. I ordered the Bondi 8 but it is quite narrow and truthfully comes across as clown shoes in style. I returned it and bought 2 more of the remaining Bondi 7 in my size and I’ll maybe reconsider Bondi again after they update to the Bondi 9.

Incredibly disappointing. Toe box is so narrow compared to the Bondi 7 that they are painful to run in. Do not buy these.

I needed new sneakers for pickle ball. I tried Asics and New Balance hoping to get a pair that were wide enough for my bunions but with some great support. I ordered the ones that had great reviews online for playing in them for tennis/pickle ball. None of the ones I received came close to feeling comfortable. I wear Hokas for my everyday activities and love them but avoided ordering them for pickle ball for fear that I would fall in them because of the higher heel lift. After reading good reviews online about playing tennis in the Hoka Bondi 8 I decided to give them a try. I was surprised to see that the bottom of that sneaker is wider than the other Hoka pairs that I have. After playing in them now for about a week I absolutely love them and my feet and knees feel so much more energetic after I’m done than any other sneaker I have worn on the court. The wide bottom seems to be the key for more stabilization on the court since the heel is higher than a normal sneaker. Definitely try them out on the court. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

The fit & size were EXACTLY as described. I recently had bunion correction surgery on my left foot and all over the web these sneakers are recommended posted surgery. I thought it was all hype & really didn’t want to spend so much $ given that I also have waterproof oncloud sneakers. Well, I caved and bought them….you will NOT regret this purchase. I’m so glad I got them. The support is incredible and will come in great use in Sept. when I go back to school. I’m a Para for DOE and I’m always on my feet. These sneakers are a wonderful investment for my post surgery recovery. Buy them.

These came just in time for Mardi Gras parades. After years of MTP joint pain, I finally got a diagnosis of hallux rigidus. This shoe makes walking tolerable again. The pressure is off my great toe joint and I actually had fun walking to parades! Thanks for the speedy delivery, Zappos

If you too have a non-healing metatarsal fracture, and need to start weight-bearing before you would normally be out of a cast/surgical boot due to foot atrophy, STOP looking, this is THE shoe for you. I don't think I've ever described a shoe as "life changing" but it has been. In a previous life with a healthy, non-fractured foot, I might have thought the thickness of the sole excessive - but it is PRECISELY what I need to absorb the impact with the floor so that my broken foot doesn't. The width of the sole also provides a good deal of stability which is helpful considering the height of the platform of foam, and even more desirable considering the atrophied state of my foot. I'm honestly just so happy that these shoes have gotten me moving again relatively pain free, after a very long time in a surgical boot, and have made that transition really smooth for me.

I need cushion on the soles of my feet and the Hoka Bondi 8 do a great job, the cushion doesnt last as long as I would like, but they are perfect right out of the box, so overall they get top marks

I was a little leery of this color because the placket surrounding the laces looks more brownish in the pix, but it blends perfectly with the shoe. I’m a nurse and Hoka Bondi are one of my very favorites for busy 12-hr shifts. They’re worth the extra $.

I think HOKA is a great sneaker for many people. I bought them since they come highly recommended for people with back issues -- and their comfort. I tried on 3 different pairs -- the Bondi's are the most comfortable, I had to order wide to get the best comfort, I'm not typically wide - I'm normally 8.5 average/Med. However, after wearing them in the house for a few hours, they increasingly become "heavy" on my feet -- and not comfortable. Sadly -- they are going back. I prefer a much lighter sneaker with the same support. However, I won't say this isn't a quality sneaker, since I know it is - but just not for me.

The fit was good and they were comfortable but I don't understand all the hype around Hokas, especially given the price. They did not meet my expectations for cushioning and support. I could "feel" the hard floor just as well in the Hoka as I can in my Brooks WITHOUT an orthotic support. So, I decided to go back to my Brooks or Asics which have been the best shoe for me for a long time. Also, I'll keep using the orthotic insert since that combo gives me the most support and cushioning.

Not so attractive and not as cushioned as other Bondi models, but don’t pinch my toes like HOKA usually do. Really, my feet aren’t that wide. What happened to the cushion HOKA? Expensive shoes need to deliver.

I love hokas so when it was time to upgrade from bondi 7 to 8 it was a no brainer! However i got the 8 and i guess they changed the design a bit. They attached the tongue of the shoe to the inserts with elastic. At first i thought this was my pair but a friend had it n didn't notice it. Not a fan i couldn’t get comfortable in them. Def tempted to cut it but too expensive to ruin them!

I have arthritis in my feet and HOKA were recommended. I tried five styles and eight pairs to find the right ones. Ended up taking my true size but with a wider width. It still puts a bit of pressure on the inside of my heel, and the odd dimensions of the outsole require you to lift your feet more than feels natural, but overall it helps with foot pain. My one criticism is that the removable sole squeaks loudly. I've tried repositioning the insole by degrees but they keep slipping back to a place that makes them crunch and squeak loudly. Considering that HOKA is supposedly a higher end, certainly higher priced shoe, the overall materials seem really cheap.

Bought this Bondi 8 to replace my Bondi 7. They don’t have as much arch support, Achilles heel support as my 7’s, and are generally less comfy. I am returning.

I have been running in the Bondi since the first iteration from Hoka One One back in the 2011? 2012? I agree with other reviewers on the 8. It is not the Bondi I am used to. The toe box feels squished/tight and the shoe itself seems to be much narrower and shallower. I have a high volume foot. I also have to wear custom orthotics. Bondis have always beautifully accommodated both. This shoe accommodates neither. My foot feels cramped from a width standpoint, and when running, my heel slops out of the shoe, not matter how tight I tie the laces--the shoe is just too shallow. The shoe itself also feels less structured and not up to the excellent standard that I have come to expect from Hoka. I have had stress fractures and chronic plantar fasciitis in the past. I credit Hoka Bondis as the ONLY reason I am still able to run--they provide just the proper amount of cushion and stability...I am an underpronator/neutral shoe wearer. I have a wide, high arch foot. I wear a size 9 in non-running footwear, but always go to a 10 in Bondis to accommodate the aforementioned issues (wide Bondis are ridiculously wide for my feet...I have experimented with this, and for me, it doesn't help). I have done this with this shoe for over a decade...this is the first time I have felt let down...even though different years of the Bondi have been better than others...the 8 is a disappointment. Hoka, please rethink these changes and bring the Bondi back to what long term customers expect. It is a big, chonky shoe...but that is what makes it great!! Thanks!

Don’t drive in these shoes! They are so wide that the edge catches between the brake & accelerator pedal…almost caused an accident twice

I am gradually getting accustomed to wearing what I think look like clown shoes because the trade-off is that my joint pain has largely disappeared! I wear them on walks that I take around my town and that's it. I don't wear them when I'm doing anything but taking walks for exercise. But I just today noticed that after only 2 months wear, these shoes are really not looking so good. I'm afraid they will not be long for this world and at $165 a pair, I don't see me replacing them multiple times per year. I'm hoping I just got a lemon pair, because I would like keep wearing Hokas!
