Hoka continues to ensure that they won't sell as many shoes as they should by putting out the ugliest color combinations possible.

I purchased my 4th pair of Hoka. A pair of Rincon 3 and two pair of Mach 4. The insole in the Mach 5 has changed it is not as comfortable and what feels like less support. The strings are different too, not as durable and the length is shorter. Just prior to ordering the Mach 5, I used the guide that you have on the site now and did not care for the recommend pair.

While I have many friends who love Hokas as a brand and recommend their shoes, I was unfortunately disappointed by the Mach 5's. They are true to size and soft on my feet; however, they seem to have a lowered heel / reduced heel to forefoot drop. As someone who primarily runs short to mid-distances (2-8 miles) and typically strikes on my midfoot, these shoes seemed to be trying to force me to run more on my heels. The lack of responsiveness and inefficiency of these shoes due to my running style means I will likely only use them for standing at my office desk...although I may still need to use some inserts for them to be truly comfortable. Sad they didn't work out for me, but I'd imagine heel-strikers would benefit greatly from them.

Purchased for marathon training to replace a pair of Clifton 8's. 50-60 miles per week with HIIT, lactate threshold, and a 20+mile endurance run. One hundred primarily pavement and concrete sidewalk miles logged. Cons - The left and right eyelets are too close to each other and it prevents a good lockdown. - Wear pattern after 100 miles indicates that the shoe slips on pavement on push off. Traction can be improved. - Durability is poor. I would expect to get one hundred fifty miles out of this pair. At 100 miles wear is occurring in the midsole near the heel. - Economics don't make sense. One hundred fifty miles for Mach 5 or four hundred miles for Clifton 8 at the same price. Price per a mile doesn't make sense unless they are less than $60 per pair. Pros - Very light shoe. First shoe I was able to log a sub 6 mile in. - Given the low stack height, it feels very padded. This has the potential to be a great product line. Not this iteration though. Do not expect to get more than 100 miles out of a pair. It may be suitable for speedwork on a track or treadmill. I don't not agree with the classification for everyday run. You probably want a different shoe.

A lot of my friends start to use Hoka and raved about it. But I tried two different shoes and just did not find the right fit and feel when working out.

disappointed with the tongue sliding down. this model (mach 5) does not have the slot for the laces to hold the tongue in place. its real annoying. IS THERE A WAY TO PREVENT THIS ?

The shoes are comfortable on walks, but I find when I run longer than 5 miles at a good pace, my feet KILL. Might just be my foot, but these things are not stable enough. The foam has a lot of give and I feel like it making me more injury prone. Highly regretting my purchase and wish I stayed with my tried and true brands.

I loved this shoe from the moment I took it out of the box and put it on. Very comfy and well done, HOWEVER... I didn't want to listen to the negative reviews regarding the tongue which comes without a loop for the laces to keep it in place, making the shoe unwearable and quite annoying. Even after walking for barely a mile, the tongue slips and you have to adjust it. Not to mention while running for a few miles. It's hard to understand why HOKA made such a poor designing choice. I have several HOKAs and love them all, but this one is going back. Please, fix this issue and you'll have an almost perfect shoe.

Changed a lot since the previous mach version which I loved. Why change something? Just keep the old model features and create a new model instead.

Overall a solid running shoe, but that heel makes it worthless. It digs into your heel to the point were you will have blisters and pain in your achilles. I have no idea why they went with this and moved away from models everyone loved. This is a big misfire. You're not supposed to have things digging into your heel that high up. Avoid this shoe.

The shoe caused blister on my left foot near little toe. I don't know what to say. I am getting it exchanged. I hope the new shoe helps.

If Hoka could put some treads on these, they wouldn't be such a waste of money. Liked the fit, but can't justify economically.

This is an awesome show but I need one with more cushion. I returned for the Clifton. These shoes triggered my IT band so if you are prone to this condition get a more cushioned shoe! It would be nice to have recommendations on the site for if you have IT band issues or knee problems which shoe would help

I ran in the Mach 4 love it. I put 600 plus miles in it. I then bought the supersonic and put just a little over 500 miles in it. I didn't like it as well as the Mach 4, but I new it was a transitioning shoe. I bought the Mach 5 on Oct 15, 2022, I have ran two runs 4 miles each and I am struggling with the tongue sliding down below where I tie it and the shoestrings are cutting into the top part of my foot. So the inconvenience is when running I have to stop and pull the tongue up very frequently. I did just a general work out this morning with the weight machine and the tongue still slipped down. If you have any suggestions on how to stop this from happening that would be greatly appreciated. If not I think I will return them.

Prefer the mach4. Upper not as good lockdown and a bit sloppy fitting and boat like.

Great foot support. I chose a wide edition which felt great. Nice drop. The bottom lugs are little wide at the base. Nice neutral shoe. The downside is I have had these less than a month and the treads already show tons of wear. The will most likely only last another month before being tossed. This was my first chance I took on Hokas and it looks like it will be my last.

I bought these expensive shoes thinking they would be comfortable enough for me to wear on my Disney trip. They are really just ok. I wouldn't turn down a pair if they were given to me but I don't think I would buy another pair. I've had more comfortable shoes from other brands that are less expensive.

Running in the Mach 5's, the Shoes felt light, firm, and loose. The soles felt flat and stiff with little cushioning. I couldn't lock down the Mach 5's on my feet and felt they were flopping around.
