The Timex Expedition North, Field Post 41 Solar, speaks to the side of me that makes a conscious effort to develop a more sustainable mindset, particularly as a consumer. I am happy to see Timex taking the right steps towards offering products that use sustainable materials and consider eco-friendly methods of manufacturing them. I hope this is just the start of things to come. Packaging - I like the stylishly minimalist packaging depicting mountainous geometric shapes in bold green tones. It needs no wild introduction, just open it up and introduce it to the wild on your next adventure, which should start now! Watch Case - The 41mm stainless steel case allows for a larger face diameter, handy while on the move and during harsh weather conditions. Stainless steel is the obvious choice, it is a durable material for watch case's but the bead blasted finish gives you that extra level of confidence while facing the elements. Watch Crystal - Often the first thing to get scratched up on any watch, let alone one destined for the great outdoors, with all its scratchy abrasive surfaces. Traditionally, sapphire crystals are reserved for more expensive watches, so this stands out as a real quality feature for this sustainably driven field watch. Preserving the clarity and general aesthetic of the watch and giving the consumer serious bang for the buck. Dial & Hands- The dial is functional and clutter free. The utility of this piece dictates its appearance of being clear and legible and yet it still manages style and flair with the use of colour. Grey arabic fonts and pastel markers against the olive dial work well. The dial has a certain faint transparency to it which isn't overly distracting but noticeable in certain lights. Although, I believe this is a worthy trade off to provide the solar powered feature, which is useful for a sustainable field watch. The hand style is paired well with the appearance and I really like the lume colour, but the lume itself could be brighter. Caseback- The screwdown caseback is one of my favourite features. Every aspect of it from the coin edge pattern around its outer diameter to the Expedition North design just finishes this piece nicely. It is a stunning touch that stamps a mark of quality on this impressive field watch. Strap- Using recycled materials is something every brand or manufacturer should be doing where appropriate. It is a global issue and something we will have to tackle together. If we can use it in a strap, that's excellent. It feels comfortable and is completely functional. I also really like the olive tone. Wearability- At 41mm the watch is on the larger end of the scale for someone with a smaller wrist, like me. However, it wears well and I think that is down to the crown guards, which add a level of comfort active. I have been wearing the Field Post 41 Solar over the weekend and have found it to be well balanced.and doesn't get in the way or catch on clothing. Functionality- 100M water resistance is an absolute must for a field watch and I'm reassured to see it on the Field Post 41. Having a quickset date is a fantastic time saving feature that I enjoy having on watches. More so, is the anti reflective sapphire crystal which I think is a huge bonus that will also help to preserve the appearance of this watch for much longer than a mineral glass alternative. Overall- I think The Timex Field Post 41 from the Expedition North Series hits the mark. It takes all the elements of a well rounded field watch and integrates a number of sustainable features organically in a way that doesn't make it feel like they were an afterthought. It is a sturdy watch and speaks for itself with a bead blasted stainless steel case and anti reflective sapphire crystal. Those features alone are commonly found on watches with a higher price point, making it an attractive yet functional watch. Yes the lume could be a bit brighter and there is a slight transparency on the dial. But, little touches like the logo on the crown and the stunning caseback design finish this piece well for me, and are a testament to the ongoing quality of Timex watches. Overall, a lot of watch for the money.

Whoever coined the phrase: "Time waits for no one" nailed it. Fall is here and it don't even care. As the summer breeze gives way to the autumn leaves, I'm functionally updating my wardrobe to respect the beauty of our environment. With that in mind, let me introduce you to my Timex Expedition North watch. What do I love about this watch? Let me tell you. Each T.E.N. focuses on functional, eco-friendly, and sustainable strap materials that live and evolve with the wearer over time. Additionally, the manufacturing process is thoughtful and ecological, which (in my opinion) is impressive. The good people at Timex believe that these innovations can create a global impact on our environment and well-being. So please do yourself a favor, grab the Timex Expedition North watch.

Simply Put, Timex is a marquis brand! There's not a corner of the globe where the name doesn't resonate. The Expedition North Field Solar 41mm watch with the accompanying Black Fabric Strap is a refreshing take on a timeless gem. Timex took a supremely thoughtful approach to sustainable design with this latest addition to their collection. The movement is solar powered which eliminates the need for battery changes and the strap is made from 100% recycled plastics. This watch is built to last and once you try it on, the comfort and weightlessness will make you never want to take it off. Last, but certainly not least, It's stylish! This watch can easily take you from the boardroom to the top of Everest and no one will bat an eye.

Thank you Timex for making an amazing watch. When I received my watch I couldn't help but smile. Black is one of my favorite colors so I fell in love with the look. The fabric that was used to make the straps is very interesting, being it was mad from recycled products. This is one of my everyday watches. I highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a great time piece.

The matte grey casing and matching olive hues of the 41mm Expedition North Post Solar are a great match for vintage or military surplus outfits - the fabric strap is light on the wrist but durable, and I love not worrying about winding or changing batteries in the timepiece. I got several compliments wearing this piece and it's become a quick standard in my rotation.

I really enjoy the dial and face. however The band did spark some concern as far as durability while hiking and camping. I would prefer to have a more durable option overall it is an excellent piece.

I am on my third Timex Expedition, and true to form, the indiglo night light stopped working within 2 weeks. I don't mind so much, as the hands glow 24-7, so if your eyes are adjusted to night vision, you can still tell the time. I keep buying the expedition because it's fairly accurate (loses about a minute every three-four months), durable, and relatively inexpensive.

I've owned a number of Timex field style watches, both new and vintage, and am a big fan. I really enjoy the MK1 Mechanical due to it's mechanical movement and it being more true to size. With the Expedition North solar watch, while the proportions are sized up I think the execution is great. The finishing on the watch, the weight of it on the wrist, and additions like the screw down crown are definite steps up. While I appreciate the fact that the strap is made of recycled material and that Timex is making eco-conscious decisions, I feel like the quality is missing there. Also, while this is a very attractive watch (especially the olive green version), I'm a little puzzled at why they would do this as a blackout version. Field watches are, at very least, supposed to be legible. Other brands who do blackout watches either have lighter indices or some kind of illumination to aid with the legibility that's sacrificed. Here, I think it's just too hard to read.

I bought this watch hoping it would look pretty close to what the images show. There is only one thing I am not satisfied with and that is the brightness of the numbers. In the image those numbers even the 24 hour once are clearly visible. But in reality I cannot see them really. I have to angle the glass such that the light reflects off of them. Too bad. Other than that no complaints so far. But I only had the watch for 3 days.

It's a handsome watch and I'd really enjoy wearing--if it worked. Even when exposed to full light for many hours, the watch simply stopped working after a day or two. A big disappointment and I was very excited for this watch. I sent it back.
