Loved them right out of the box. Most comfortable shoe for me ever. Heal stays secure. Roomy toe-box. Stiff enough shank for protection on rocky trails. HOWEVER, the waterproofing while good to start, completely failed by the 4th day of wear in wet terrain. My socks were wring-them-out soaking wet for days 5-8 hiking in Denali. I wore Gore-Tex knee high waterproof gators and know the water was coming in from the sides and bottom, not over the top. The shoes were basically new. Wore them on a few training hikes in dry weather, for about 30 miles and another 50-60 miles in Denali. Total distance worn is less than 100 miles. My buddy who had a different brand with a different waterproof membrane stayed dry. Since I bought them specifically for waterproofing, in the end they made for an unpleasant hiking experience.

I just crossed Iceland unsupported and the boot performed admirably. It was mostly waterproof, felt good on the feet on long road walks and steep technical hikes even and crossing sharp volcanic rock, even with a starting pack weight of 62lbs. Sole barely looks worn after 400 miles, laces are intact and toes are just beginning to peel, which usually happens way earlier for most well-used footwear for me. Much lighter than all other options. Amazing. If you need a boot, but you primarily use trail runners and loathe the idea of wearing something heavy, go with this. I do agree with one review that on long steep downhills, these don't provide a ton support, but with good technique and poles, that shouldn't be a problem. Certainly more support than trail runners. Make sure to lace 'em up tight though, as they do tend to untie, but that's a small price to pay for such an outstanding shoe. I almost never write reviews, but I knew after my trip that I had to provide a review on these as they performed above expectation.

I normally hike in Hoka trail shoes but find they are getting smaller in the toe box every year. Also, I am finding them to be a little unstable especially since I have to keep the laces a little loose because of foot pain. These boots are so comfortable and have helped me deal with some chronic foot issues. Over the last several years I have had metatarsal stress fracture, plantar fasciitis and other issues and some big toe arthritis. I have found these boots to be not only comfortable but super stable in loose, steep and wet trail conditions.

Hiked in the Canadian Rockies: Banff, Jaspar trails for a week. This shoe felt really comfortable. Was true to size. Wide toe box meant i did not feel the squeeze in front. At the end of 10 miles of hiking, still felt good wearing the shoe. Walking through slushy ground and some small streams without trouble. Grip around ankle felt very good. Not the most important but still to be mentioned: When driving a car with these shoes or travelling on a plane (taking it off and on during security), it was easy. No need to carry another pair of shoes for non-hiking functions.

I'm impressed with the lightness of the shoe and the stability that it offers. Needless to say, the toe configuration is paramount. I recently switched to the Topo's after to many hot spots from previous hiking boots. The switch was perfect timing as I departure for the Pacific Coast Trail next week. Wish me luck

I like the wide toe box. I do mostly mountain hiking, lots of rocks and gravel. Tread has a good grip and the overall shoe is very comfortable.

In prep for our ventures in Alaskan waters this year, I needed a WP boot that wouldn't kill my old legs n feet. These were the perfect choice. Just enough warmth and perfect weight to keep me moving all day & still be able to complete HIIT workouts and elliptical workouts with and without 20# vest...at sea! Love them and will probably continue to buy this model.

I tried about 5 different pairs of boots until I finally settled on these. They are my absolute favorite. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a wide toe box boot. I had to get a half size bigger than my regular shoe size since the waterproof liner adds some thickness to the interior. But usually you want to slightly size up anyway when buying hiking boots since your feet swell after a long day on the trail. Great grip. Great footbox. Perfect boot. Had to try 5 different brands of boots before settling with this pair. I even tried the previous model of this shoe and didn't like it. So whatever you guys did for this model its perfect.

The additional cushioning underfoot is terrific, and the slightly higher cut than previous model is good as the boot no longer bites at the ankle. Very good!

Hiking, Backpacking, also for work sometimes, when there's lots of outdoor walking.

These boots are amazingly comfortably!!! I was a little worried about the durability of these shoes based on the reviews of the original Trailventure but I have beat them up pretty good daily for the last 3 weeks and they show no signs of any issues. I have worn Keens for 20 plus years and every once in a while would venture to try a different brand but always came bake to them. I'm fairly certain I'm staying with these for the future! Fit like a glove with great cushioning footbed!! I wear them everyday during the week at work as a surveyor and all weekend taking care of my property. Love them!

The comfort and support is superior to my old Keens and Tevas. I wear them to work outdoors, and whenever its pouring rain.

My version 1s had some type of defect and one boot started to fall apart within two weeks of a big backpacking trip I went on. I told customer service and they replaced my defective boots with the version 2s and I can already tell that they are way more durable. Thanks for the great customer service topo.

The hiking boot is extremely comfortable, however, they fall apart quickly from light use. Logos peel off, Sean's come undone, and the sole separated with less than 20-30 miles on them in fairly easy terrain. Despite that they are still extremely comfortable. I just wish they held up better.

I'd hoped to find light boots that would be similar to my Solomon X Ultra Mids but with a wider toebox/more anatomical build. While I can usually get a couple years out of the Solomons, the Topos are falling apart after just a few months. The soles are starting to peel between both the lower sole and midsole, and midsole and upper, and parts of the toebox are separating as well. It seems like the glues they are using are very bad. If these were half the price I'd say it's worth it.

I wear these every day m-f 7am-5pm on concrete floors and in wet conditions. They are amazing! They feel like I'm wearing my new balance 1080's but are rugged enough for work and waterproof. I'm on pair #4 and my only complaint is the lack of color options. Will buy again, and again.

I purchased a men's wide shoe because the women's shoe was too narrow. The men's shoes fit very well. I downsized one size. At first I had some heel pain but withTopo 30 day free trial I kept on wearing them and the heel pain was less. I love the shoeit is very comfortable, nice looking and the waterproof liner seems to be working quite well. I've been wearing them through the winter months and find them to be warm enough on most days. Overall very satisfied and would definitely buy another pair!

Finally a shoe with a wide toe box. I love the fit for a really wide foot at the toe that isnt sloppy in the heel.

Love the way these shoes fit and the generous toe box. The insoles are super comfortable and durable. I've had them for about 6 months now and don't feel they are breaking down at all in their cushioning. The tread is durable but also provides really good traction. The outer shoe is holding up well and does not have any wear other than scuffs from my use. The waterproofing is great but my only criticism is that they stopped making the non-waterproof version that breathes far better.

This is my eighth pair of Topos and they continue to impress. The toe box is roomy but my toes don't swim in them either, which I attribute to the heel and mid section of the keep conforming to my feet.

I normally wear a women’s 9.5, but often purchase men’s 8.5 for the width. As someone with myriad foot issues (high arch, wide width, hammer toes and neuropathy) it’s so hard to find decent shoes. Barefoot shoes work well during temperate months, but finding a lightweight, generous toe box, rugged sole, waterproof, well-made high top for winter activities is such a challenge. I’m extremely happy with these! I can enjoy winter hikes in the woods!

Trailventure 2 WP boots are just the thing for me. Bought them before taking a trip to Norway, wore them just about every day for weeks, never an issue. I need shoes with a wide toe box and thanks to Topo for thinking about how most human feet are actually built. Why more companies blow off the toe box is anybody's guess, but they decidedly don't get it. I've got two pairs of Topos now, love them both, wear them all the time. No regrets and I know where I'll be getting my next pair of shoes...
