These are the most normal looking barefoot shoes I have ever found. They are very comfortable and versatile. Mine are black, and I’m planning to pick up the brown ones, too. They are incredibly lightweight and the cushioning is just right. I’m in between sizes and the larger size is better for me. After a foot injury, I am only wearing shoes for the strength and health of my feet and gait. I have a few different styles from Xero, and it’s hard to choose a favorite. In fact my favorite Xero shoes tend to be the ones I am wearing that day!

I love these boots and while ordering a second pair in a different color, thought I'd write a review. A little background: An avid walker, I've had constant foot pain the past couple of years - even my faithful Asics and Merrell caused pain due to bunions and Morton's toe. So about a month ago, I bought a pair of Xero. Then another pair, then these boots. I will never go back to 'regular' foot wear and I will try other 'barefoot' shoes. No there is no arch support and turns out, I don't need it. I am in no way affiliated with Xero. I just love their shoes.

Fit was good in toe box, but huge in the rest of my foot. The adjustable strap does nothing. Oceans of ankle room. Very cheaply made for the price.

This is my third pair of Xeros. I have a wide forefoot, low volume foot, normal to narrow heel and skinny ankles. I like these boots a lot but they were a little bit big in the ankle. Thick socks helped make them not look wierd. I put a fleece insole in the bottom for warmth and wore them for several days of a lot of walking in the freezing cold in Berlin.

These look great! I am returning them for a half size smaller but I think I'll be very happy with them. I have always been a size 10 but I border on 10.5 after having my son and in most boots, I need that half size up. These are very roomy and would work well for wide feet. (I actually am debating sizing down to 9.5 because the 10.5 felt more like 11 to me, but am trying 10 first and hoping it will be perfect.) These are the kind of boots you can slip on and just go, no struggle with pulling them on, and you're not really even aware of them on your feet because they're so light and comfortable.

I usually buy size 7.5 to accommodate my wider foot but since these shoes are wider than conventional shoes, I found the 7.5 was slightly too big unless I wore them with thicker socks (think hiking socks). Since I live in Southern California and the weather is pretty warm, I opted to exchange them for a size 7 and I am very happy with my purchase. I like these because they don't scream "weird barefoot shoes" and can blend in quite nicely. If I were going to wear these in colder areas, I'd probably opt for the half size larger and get some wool or sheepskin type shoe inserts. I know others have complained that the strap at the ankle does nothing and I tend to agree although I have no desire or need for the ankle area to be tighter; I find them to fit quite well as is. They appear to be well-made & am very happy with these everyday ankle boots.

This Xero Chelsea boot is the perfect casual, short barefoot boot! You can dress them up or dress them down and I love the versatility on top of the incredible comfort. Zappos recommended I get them in a size 9, which in many styles I do wear, but they were just too big. 8.5 were perfect! You get the barefoot comfort with the wide toe box, zero drop so they're perfectly flat and flexible.

I only wear barefoot shoes and have had really good luck with Vibram Fivefingers and Vivobarefoot!

Was nervous to buy shoes online, especially since I usually buy in men's sizes, but these were perfect. The material is good. Where the ankle straps are attached under the sole might be an issue for pooling water though. I immediately greased them, & since then I've worn them in mild rain for a 15min walk including through wet grass & they kept my feet dry. The traction on them is not so great, but Xero makes very durable soles for how thin & flexible they are. Seems like solid construction. Toe box is not so wide to look goofy, but my feet are not very wide either & these are very comfortable particularly in relation to standard shoes with narrow toe boxes. Chelsea style allows for more ankle mobility than other boots, which is ideal for the zero-drop philosophy. These look nice & are very gender-neutral/flexible.

I love these boots! They remind me of the moccasins I wore all the time as a kid. They are so comfortable and give me the feeling that I'm almost barefoot and that makes me happy. :)

I have been looking at these boots for awhile now & finally ordered the toffee color. I am so glad I did! Absolutely love these boots. I am going to order them in black as well. I have 3 pairs of Xero shoes/sneakers. Love all of them but these boots are my favorite. Full disclosure - Xero footwear is made to have that “barefoot” feel - zero drop heal and no support in the footbed. In the past, I had plantar fasciitis- once in both feet at the same time! Heard about barefoot running and the rest is history. My feet are stronger now and I have not had plantar fasciitis since! I’m looking forward to fall/winter so I can wear these again!

I’ve been looking hard for a flexible sole shoe to replace my dying “airport” shoes and I’ve found it!! Chelsey style boot is easy to get on and off and has plenty of toe space. Very happy.

I didn’t expect to like these as much as I do! They’re my first attempt with a minimalist shoe and I’m excited to try more. I usually wear 11W or 11.5W, but a regular 11 was great in this shoe. They’re understated enough to work with dressier clothes (Sunday morning) and great for everyday.

Shoe fits great! Enough room for my toes to spread out and they keep my feet warm.
