I love these and I’m going to keep them! I usually go for a size 11 (10 is usually too small)…I’d say they’re true to size or a little big on my feet. They’re a little loose on my heels. The zipper isn’t the best quality, so I’m going to avoid using it. I can slip the shoes on and off ok without unzipping.

When I first saw these boots, I knew I had to have them in the brown. I love a taller/longer shaft boot -- most ankle boots shaft are just too short for my preference, as I find a taller shaft more flattering on my legs. I would consider these just under mid-calf. I was worried from the photos that they would be too chunky (I love a lug sole and have for the past 8+ years but this new/90s super chunk trend really isn't my vibe) but they aren't too bad. The other thing I love about them is that they are not loose around my calf! I DO NOT have wide calves by any means and I feel that most boots just have too large of a circumference for my calf -- this is not the case with these -- they are snug yet comfortable! So maybe keep that in mind if you consider your calves to be wide...Lastly, I am a true size 9 and always wear wool socks (smartwool junky here) and these are a bit long for me (about 3/4 of an inch too long ). I'd consider them a half-size too big. If I didn't need to wear them immediately, I'd likely order an 8.5 and give them a try but there just no way they will arrive for me in time. I've never owned Sam Edelman boots before so I'm not sure if too large of sizing is common in this brand or not... My only concern I have with them at this point in time is the strip of brown sole between the black heel -- I think I read a review that the paint was chipping and upon initial examination, I could believe that statement. I just got these and have them on out of the box, so I cannot attest to durability or all day comfort but based on appearance alone, these are a winner.

These boots are fashionable but, they are very heavy.
