Fit: Generous in the body portion of the shirt. At LLBean, I'm generally a M or L; in this I ordered a M and it was perfect in the body portion. However, the sleeves were WAY too short for me. (I'm 5"6' with long-ish arms.)
Fabric: Thick and soft and pretty in the Fig color. I do agree with others who've said that it looks like horizon stripes.

I ordered this shirt in both petite and misses. I found the misses had the best leangth for me. The material is quite soft, and a nice thickness. The only complaint I have is that the plaid at the side seams doesn't quite match, but it is close enough for me to keep it. At this price, however,I would expect the plaid to match perfectly. I think LL Bean needs to improve their quality control.

Quality material, the size was good all over, mostly, but could have been a bit larger in general and too short for my arms. Sending it back for 3x, then when it shrinks a little it will still fit in sleeves. All in all does not seem like a 2x. Usually I take a solid 2x. To me it seems like a Women's 1x. Also, its not a tunic, it a flannel shirt nothing different about it. These just came out in the catalog and already they are out of colors and that's that. I experienced this in the spring also. They run out of sizes and colors within 1 day of getting the catalog. This is not good. But would buy again just a bigger size.

Love this shirt EXCEPT why did they put brown buttons on a navy and white check shirt? They looked awful. I replaced them with white buttons and now the shirt looks quite lovely. I can NOT understand why there are brown buttons on everything...quite frustrating.

I ordered the purple and blue and red plaid. I love the colors. And I love the softness, thickness, and warmth. I wear it as an over-shirt. It was too big at first, but shrunk to fit me perfectly (I dry it in the dryer). It works perfectly when it is chilly but not cold enough for a thick sweater. I highly recommend it. I gave it only 4 stars, because after a number of washings, it is pilling just a little.

I really liked the flannel. It is a relaxed fit, great for layering. The petite M fit well except through the shoulders. It just didn't look right on me. It gave kind of a rounded look. The fig color was beautiful. However, one review about the vertical stripes not having enough contrast unfortunately made me focus on the horizontal stripes. The price point was comparable to high end outfitters and I did buy it on sale. However, I did send it back because of the shoulder fit on me.
But if you are looking for a nice relaxed fit flannel without those little pockets with flaps right on you chest this is a nice shirt which will give you a lot of wear. For size reference I'm 5'2". 148 lbs, 36DD

This flannel shirt would be perfect if it were a few inches longer. The description calls it a tunic, but the length is no more than a regular shirt. My favorite outfit for fall and winter is a warm tunic with heavyweight leggings and this shirt barely covers your backside.

Love the print and the quality of the fabric - soft, thick, and cozy. 4 stars because the fit is a little boxy, and I'd rather the fit have been a touch longer and more tailored (for layering) instead of boxier but shorter.

I love the shirt - it is soft and very comfortable. I haven't yet washed so cannot comment there. It seems to run true to sizing. My one gripe - this shirt is expensive, couldn't we ensure the stripe pattern match at the seams? This is a "quality" and "value" factor. All this "offshoring" of all of our services is a big shame and it shows up in quality very often lately (cheap materials and cheap workmanship). I am very happy that the inner seams around the arms are finished and not rough seams which really bothers my skin. I would have given this shirt 5 stars if the pattern matched.

Beautiful shirt! I bought a Med. and it fits like an extra large. I want to send it back but cannot find paperwork, and fear a small would have too short of sleeves. Not sure what to do yet, but nice shirt!

I loved the material, great quality. I was disappointed that the red wasn't more like what the catalog showed. (Brighter red) This was the reason I didn't give it a five star. The black seemed to dominate the color. Fit was great and true to size.

I tried on this shirt in the LLBean store. It was great! Sturdy flannel and loved the navy/white plaid. However, it was HUGE! I normally wear a Large ( and sometimes an X-Large for certain items). But the Large was huge and I tried on a Medium and it fit well.
I have not worn anything that is Medium in over 25 years! LOL!
I am nervous about buying a Medium doesn't seem right.
Have others experienced this with sizing issues of this shirt? Thanks.

I've never had a problem with anything from Bean before, but... Okay, the shirt is really nice. It's a great fit. The material is very soft and thick like really good pajamas. It holds up wash after wash. The problem is that I spent my Sunday morning sewing all of the buttons back on. Every button originally had two threads holding it on. That didn't last a month. I have old shirts that I've had for years that have never lost a button. Shame on Bean for selling a shirt for that much money without first doing a quality check.

I loved this shirt when I first got it and after the first few timesI washed it. Unfortunately, every time I wash it the sleeves get shorter. I can't wear it anymore because the sleeves are so short. I really wish that LLBean carried women's tops in Tall.

Really heavy fabric - could only use outside in winter. Too long in body.

The fit is a little strange on a petite athletically built women (5'2", 115 lbs, ordered petite XS). I like that the arm holes are not too constricting because I have muscular arms, and many shirts are too tight on my arms. But the seam going across the shoulder blades is strangely tight, while the torso is huge (really wide) and long, even though I got the Petite XS.

Heavier than I was expecting, and the plaid is really ugly. Sometimes I buy the wierd plaids that end up on sale and am pleasantly surprised, but not this time.

Really nice shirt but it shrunk a little bit. I only wash on cold and don't dry on hot but sadly it shrunk some. I would have sent it back but don't know if they take returns if it shrinks. Absolutely love this company and other than it shrinking some its a great shirt. Still fits but just barely.

Unlike the previous two buffalo plaid shirts which fit perfectly, the shoulders in this buffalo plaid shirt are too snug. The previous shirts were ample-fitting through the shoulder as and made in Vietnam. This red buffalo plaid shirt was manufactured in lndia and the shoulds were too snug for comfort. All are of good quality flannel.

Stripes do not match at sides or sleeves. Why not? Stripes match on knit shirts though.

What a great shirt...until I washed it, according to the label instructions (light dry). The length, on me, is not thigh length, it's mid hip length in the front, longer in the back. When I tried it on after I washed it, the length in the front was no longer comfortable, it was higher hip length and the sleeves were then too short. Because it's relaxed fit, after washing the front just billowed out like a maternity top. Not so flattering to a grandmother. I loved the color (sapphire) and the thickness of the material. I would love this shirt in Tall sizes. If you're tall like me, don't dry the shirt.

The flannel is very heavy and warm, almost too heavy for daily wear indoors. The buttons were so tightly sewn on that it was hard to unbutton for the first couple of wearings.
I wish the sleeves were a bit longer as well. I hope that this shirt breaks in over time with several more washings.
