I use this as a sun hoodie for hiking and it's become my new favorite hiking shirt. Not as high UPF rating but I haven't been burned under it and it's much more breathable than a UPF 50 material.

Just what I was looking for.

I typically fall between Medium and Large so based my decision on reviews. The Medium fits perfectly (6', 1", 188 lbs) with ideal arm length as well as proper fit in the torso. Neck opening is slightly smaller than other brands but once on it fits great! My wife recently shared that I have way too many grey and black pieces...so I mixed it up and found this Smartwool Merino Sport in 150 weight in Laguna Blue! Super look and feel & found a sweet deal!

Outstanding light weight hoody. The medium fits perfect.,! I wear the hoody for at work - not too heavy, but looks great. After ski touring, sitting by the wood stove with a cocktail, a perfect lightweight merino wool top.

Great layering shirt or by itself. Lightweight but warm. Will definitely shop Smartwool product again.

right out of the package onto my back in Colorado. Great heat management on an 80 degree day, running through scrub oak (not recommended) the shirt pilled slightly but didn't tear. Fantastic. sun protection allowing a little sun through to avoid the pasty look, fit is between slim and loose, I'm 5'10" 185 and the medium is perfect. Its a great base layer on colder days. paired with the MERINO SPORT ULTRALITE NECK GAITER really max the sun protection. the hood is fitted, my head is huge but the hood has room to spare without blowing in the wind. I can't say enough about this hoody. Wear for days and it dries fast without major stink being 56% merino with 44% polyester for strength, maintaining shape and fast dry. I've been wearing smartwool for 20 years and will continue

This piece is brilliant for hiking and I keep buying it again and again. It is really durable, the hoodie gives great shade from the sun, and works really well to add a little extra heat in the sleeping bag. My only complaint about this new upgraded version is the hidden pocket with a zipper. It is places exactly where the hip belt from my backpack sits. Without modifications (removing zipper and hidden pocket), this new addition made it useless for hiking.

It works. On the thin side. Fit is decent.

I love this product when it's brand new, but even after a day or two of wearing it, it starts to show signs of pilling. I don't remember the previous versions of similar products from smart wool being so quick to wear out.

This would be the perfect hoodie if it didn't have the stupid side pocket. I have some older ones without it, get rid of the pocket so I can buy a bunch more!

Great, weird zipper pocket on the side. If your in between sizes, go down a size.

When my Merino Sport 150 Hoodie arrived, I could not wait to put it on. The iceberg blue color brightened up the midwinter blues of Michigan, and I was genuinely excited to get out for a run! However, my excitement and #SmartwoolLove was tempered as I donned the hoodie for its first outing. The Merino 150 blend provides a perfect weight for those spring & fall temps (mid 30s-50s), and the lightweight, breathable nature of the hoodie left me feeling comfortable throughout my runs, even on a day when winds were gusting 30+ mph. But, the fit for me is a big negative, as the L feels more like an XL than a L. I feel like I'm getting both room to move and bulk in sleeve length, extra fabric in the upper arm/armpit area, and length, and because of this, I've worn the hoodie as a compliment to t-shirts and my Merino 150 base layer (on really cold days). I appreciate the zipper flap for key storage, and although there was a lot of movement, after a couple of outings I didn't notice it anymore. I'm not sure if I'll wear the hoodie outside of a top layer for spring/fall activities, as for me, it's too baggy to wear as a lifestyle option. If I were to order it again, I think I would downsize to a M instead of my usual L.

I returned the hoodie for the classic base layer 1/4 zip. The hoodie is good quality just didn't fit my need. I found the good got in the way for layering.
