This is my second pair of Lone Peaks and it did not disappoint! Not a heavy shoe at all and has perfect traction for trails while also being comfortable on roads. The wider toe box is a no-brainer. I recommend everyone try this brand!

I love these shoes for the wide toe box and protection they offer around the toes. I like the feel of the trail and I get that with these shoes but yet I still get cushion where I need it.

Very comfortable for hours and plenty of room in front for my wide toe area, which is somehow not so easy to find. I submitted a claim to Altra due to faulty fabric lining that has frayed around the edges at the top. They frayed within under a month of wear. I have never had athletic shoes do that even after years of wear. They sent another pair which has also started to fray. I find it puzzling that the most costly pair of athletic shoes I have ever purchased had such a defect. Surely Altra can do better in selecting fabric to line the shoes.

I love the color and fit. It would be nice to have more cushioning. It saddens me that so few styles have shoes in the original footprint with cushioned soles, not necessarily for running or hiking, but just all day wear and or traveling.

I bought the lone peak 6 in a blue last summer, and was THRILLED to find this Altra shoe with the very comfortable and needed wide toe box (due to my bunions) My last several pairs (TMPs) were way too narrow for me. Given the way styles change from year to year, I was excited to find this line peak 6 in my size, in case the LP 7 is too narrow. But I don't know why they called the color red. They are more like burnt orange. Doesn't matter. Altra, please keep offering more styles with the wide toe box. I know many people who buy Altras because of that!

I bought these on a whim to do some light walking/hiking. I wore them for 8 hours while shopping just to see how my feet would hold up and was pleasantly surprised. They have nice cushion and plenty of toe room. I've seen reviews saying they don't hold up to wear and tear. If they do hold up, I'll definitely purchase this brand again.

I love Altra. They are the only shoes I have found to support my foot issues. Bunions on both sides and other issues. I can't walk, run, or even clean my home without these shoes and I am not ready for major foot surgery. I really wish you would offer more styles and colors in wide width. I have an old pair of Paradigm in wide but it's not an option anymore. Thank heaven I got an all weather Lone Peak wide before you canceled it. Please show some love for people with foot issues because your shoes are the best out there for us.

My second pair and my only disappointment is the the shoe lace size. I contacted customer service to see if they could provide a longer lace and was told to just purchase a pair of laces. I should not have to invest more money right away in a quality shoe. Still considering returning them for this reason. (Not to mention with my OCD I want my lace to match the shoe when they are new.) Otherwise a great shoe for my neuropathy discomfort.

I bought these shoes after they were recommended by a hiking friend. I always have an issue with the exterior bony side of my little toes not having enough space - but these do, and they are SUPER comfy! The only thing I would change is to make the sole a little stiffer - it's a little too flexible for walking on uneven surfaces. I LOVE these shoes!

I love these shoes! The zero drop is amazingly different from any other shoe I've worn. I have the blue pair and the soul color is the same as the body color making it easy to wear with jeans without looking like I'm on my way to the gym or for a hike. The toe box is a bit wide, Altra, please offer this shoe in narrow and keep offering understated, zero drop shoes so I can wear them for every day activities as well as exercise. Thank you!

The orange is a lovely color and the shoes look great. Other reviews said the style runs small, so I went up a half size; the 10 feels a little loose, but my usual 9.5 would have been too short. I wore them out of the box on a long walk and they felt good. They are more minimalist and have less cushioning than I am used to with Torins. They are also wider than other Altra styles, which is ideal for those of us with bunions and spread-out toes. I just got these and have only worn them once, so I cannot comment on durability, but I for now am pleased.
I'd also recommend:

and it was a perfect fit! I was sooo happy to find wide shoes that actually fit. Sadly, this last pair I purchased was made in a smaller width even though it was a similar style. I was so crushed to discover that I will have to send them back. However, I am sure that Altra's quality is still the same.

VERY comfortable shoes. I really do love them. However, disappointed in the seemingly cheap material used on top of shoe. Both pairs i purchased (one for me and one for my Dad) of the Lone Peak 6 now have holes by the toe and embarrassing to wear. I have only had them for a little over 1 year. For the price, that seems not acceptable and hesitant to purchase another pair for that price. Everything else great. I wish they would fix this. :(

Shoe is awesome, shoe strings are way too short on the Lone Peak 6's. I wore a new pair of Lone Peak 5's to hike the Camino in Spain. They made the 500 miles. A perfect shoe for the journey!

They were recommended by my podiatrist because of the wide toe box and narrower heel. They fit very will and are comfortable. But they are really ugly. Very much granny shoes. I was hoping to be able to wear them often, but I'm only willing to wear them when going for my walk or to the gym. Maybe the grocery store, but that's it. Clearly well made though and I do like the materials and white shade of the shoe and the pale green trim and laces.

I had a pair of Lone Peak 4.5 and I loved them for trail running and dog agility. I measure 6.5 EEEE for women's shoes and wear a custom orthotic, so it is very hard to find shoes that fit and have a narrow enough heel. Needed a new pair and saw there are now two widths. I contacted Altra chat and asked which width I needed based on the Lone Peak 4.5. Chat told me nothing had changed between models, so I ordered Lone Peak 6 regular width. NOPE ! Regular width is too narrow! Returned those and bought the wide. Heaven!

Love the roomy toe box. Love the advice to order 1/2 size larger BUT I have a thin foot so the fabric atop the wider toe area is ripply -- I don't fill it out. Still it is a VERY COMFORTABLE shoe. I have to tie the laces tightly so it fits my thin foot. Just because I wear size 10 1/2 does not mean I have a fat foot! But the toe spread from reduced cusioning in the ball of the foot -- which I'm told is a 'normal' with aging -- was a priority for my longs walk up and down hills, so thanks Altra.

I have been using Altras the past 10 years switching between Superior Trail and more recently Lone Peak for trail running. I really enjoy the zero drop, and relatively thinner base/cushion. I have very wide feet, and order the wide shoe. I have really appreciated the wider toe box of the shoe, but it seems like more recent material has made the wide shoes less stretchy. The shoes seem to be adding more cushioning, which is great for long distances, but I would really enjoy a little less cushion. Aesthetically, it would be fantastic if there could be more variety in color options available for people like me with wide feet. Overall, a nice shoe I plan to keep getting.

I normally wear the Vionic Miles sneaker. The toe box of the Altra gives me more wiggle room. The sole of this shoe is a bit too squishy for me, but I know a lot of people enjoy that feeling. The color is cute, but definitely on the casual side.

I love the shoe color-a pretty blue. The original toe box is a good fit for me because of my bunions. I was not impressed with the shoe's cushioning but once I added my orthotics they felt much better. No need to break the shoes in, they were comfortable right out the box.

Best shoe I've found to allow room for bunions, eliminated the pain. However, I hate the colors. Stop with the orange. Need more options, please. Would have given a 5
