I bought this raincoat because its very lightweight and it is supposed to be waterproof. It is not waterproof. Just got caught in a monsoon rain and when I got to my car only a few feet from the door I was thoroughly drenched.

The jacket is comfortable and fits better than most rain jackets, with some shape and was a little more fitted than most jackets that are too boxy. One of the reasons I chose this jacket was that it did not have velcro by the zipper as a lot of rain jackets do. Your hair or clothing always seems to get stuck on the velcro which isn't fun. The jacket is very lightweight, does not have a mesh liner, so it does feel very slightly clammy/plasticky if I'm describing that well, but most rain jackets have that feeling when I've tried them on. This one wasn't any worse than any other rain jacket. However, this jacket was quiet! Some rain jackets are stiff and make a lot of noise when you walk, and this one wasn't noisy.

I got this to replace my wonderful Adventure jacket from years ago. It was the most versatile item of clothing I have ever owned. I was beyond excited to see that this is the same jacket but with a few awesome updates, like an added chest zip pocket & the velcro flap has been removed from the front. This is a wonderful jacket for rain or as a layer for walks/hikes. Worth every penny even if it only lasts half as long as my other one although I see it lasting just as long!

This jacket is perfect for the rain. I love the variety of pockets and the air vent at the arm pits. It's super light and I can also use it for running or every day use. Most importantly, it does not have velcro, so I can wear it over nice clothes and not worry about snags on clothing. I'm typically a medium but got this in a large because the medium was tight on the shoulders, with many other styles of rain jackets as well. I have not yet washed it so I don't know how well it holds up, but I'm very confident in the North Face warranty!

Purchased a few months ago and just wore in the rain for the first time today. Water does not bead up but just soaks through. I was thoroughly damp underneath after being outside for ~20 minutes in light rain. Emailed warranty to see if this is covered.

I was very disappointed after wearing this "waterproof" jacket. The alta vista jacket is far from waterproof. Rain went right through my jacket. I do not recommend this as a rain jacket.

I use my Rain Jacket of course when it rains. Also at times when it windy, Love the Underarm Vents as well Reason why I purchased it Love the color

This is the perfect rain jacket! It's lightweight material, perfect for rainy days when it's still warm outside. The fit is flattering, not too wide or baggy. It packs easily and can be used as a light jacket in cooler temperatures. It checks all the boxes!

This jacket withstood the winds from the Drake Passage and kept me warm without being too bulky. There is no better test than that!

It fits just right and I love the zip pits for ventilation.

I use this all the time. It doubles as a light jacket even if it's not raining. There are vents under the sleeves and a solid hood. It rolls up tightly to take traveling
