So far, so good. Have taken several 30-min walks through the rain and have come home bone dry. Need to run your thumb up ahead of the zipper to prevent it from getting stuck when zipping the jacket up is about the only thing I've noticed. I think the recommended sizing is a little small - says model is 6'1", 40" chest, and 32" waist. I am 6'0", 42-44" chest, and 32" waist and bought a Large and it's just right. Medium would leave no room for a shirt.

Don't let the lightweight fool you, this jacket can handle some pretty wet conditions. Been putting this jacket to some serious abuse in the open Pacific Ocean in Hawaii and it is standing up the the challenge. Love it, and already bought an extra one for a friend who is getting soaked next to me.

Love the material and zippers. But like other reviewers have stated, the hood is way too big for a normal sized head. It seems to have been designed for use over a helmet. There's no way to cinch it smaller when not wearing a helmet so it obscures your vision. Wearing a baseball cap helps.
The other issue is the pit zips, which cannot be open/closed with one hand. It's difficult to hold one end of the zipper with one hand and zip it with the other, meaning you have to take the coat off to zip them open or closed.
Other than those two (big) issues, it's a great coat that keeps you dry.

Nice lightweight rain jacket, folds into itself and zips up into a nice small pouch (although had to YouTube how to do it should be included with jacket). Good to keep in your car for those unexpected rainy days!

Love this jacket, I have 2 TNF in the women's and i have a problem with the sleeves being too short, I read a review where someone had purchased a men's jacket because it was sold out in women's, and that the
men's jacket worked out better due to the sleeves being longer. I am so glad that I came across that review. I love this jacket and the sleeves are perfect

Worked great to keep out the wind and rain. Its thin, of course, so I combine it with an insulating layer (Thermoball) and the two are surprisingly effective. Even in 20* and light snow, I was only slightly cold wearing these two layers.

As a Night Auditor, I often have to deal with unpredictable weather, and the Men's Alta Vista Jacket has been a lifesaver on rainy nights! It provides excellent protection, keeping me dry and comfortable. I especially love the adjustable cuffs and all the thoughtful features of this garment. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a durable and functional jacket. In fact, I'm planning to get another one for my son soon!

Great quality. Breathes well. Been out on the mountain a couple times with this thing and it holds up and keeps me warm and dry. I've had many north face products in the past and they've all done well for me. Great value.

This is an excellent everyday jacket. Even though it is a light shell, all you have to do is layer underneath to use all year. Stuff pocket is great for packing. Weatherproofing is solid. Fits perfectly.

I don't live in a rainy area of the world, but the times I have used this jacket have left me completely dry. The best analogy I can think of is a freshly waxed car wicking away any drops of water.

It is very thin, it does not feel like an outer layer, but it has a good finish.

This jacket was a Christmas gift for my niece and the women's one was out of stock but this men's one is exactly the same and what she wanted! It is light weight and comfortable, she absolutely loves this jacket. She is about 5'9 and skinny with long arms and it was perfect for her.

Great jacket, the pit-zips are always a bonus! And the chest pocket is a nice feature as well, especially with the ability to pack it into that pocket.

It was everything I was looking for in an outdoor rain jacket for active endeavors. I have not tested it in the rain, however.
