My son loves it so far, it matches his backpack and is a simple design. It's much sturdier than previous ones that were only a few dollars cheaper. I wish it was just a little bigger to comfortably hold a water bottle and his lunch but it's OK. If I bought again I think I would go up to the expandable lunch box version of this.

This is a great lunchbox; however, I wish the inside would expand more. My son packs his lunch for school in this lunchbox, but is unable to fit two small containers with lids. He has to carry an extra bag with his lunch. He cannot fit his lunch and snacks in this lunchbox.

Keeps item temperatures consistent while moving from hot to cool environments. Zipper stays put and moves smooth. Inside and outside pockets are pretty tight. Good for a tea bag, spork, straw and thin items. Over time the netting does relax a little bit. Handle makes it easy to carry and pull out of a backpack. An added bonus, if soup leaks it appears to stay contained in the bag and rinses out under the faucet.

I cut the name tag off. It gets in the way of the zipper. I wrote my name in magic marker on the inside instead. Otherwise, very nice. Made well. I got the blue bag. Very pleased so far. Many sleeves for different things. I wish it was a little bit bigger though because it fills up fast.

This is a fine lunch box with plenty of room. The only draw back is the "if lost" tag is right next to the zipper. It keeps getting caught anytime we try to zip it closed. Its the only reason I gave it 4 stars. I'll have to cut it off so it won't get stuck, but now the name label is gone -- so let's hope it doesn't get lost. I probably won't repurchase this one next year unless the name label is moved away from the zipper.

Product is well made, water proof, seems rugged enough.

My granddaughter wanted this lunchbag but I would have liked one larger with a place for her water bottle.

Sturdy lunch box, with zippered mesh pockets to protect fragile items like cookies, etc. Would be five stars except it is too narrow to fit a standard sandwhich container along side a standard drink container. An additional 1 to 2 inches in width would make it much more versatile.

Our family has 2 of these lunch boxes, one that has survived 2 school years, and another that has survived 3 or 4..... From the product description, they don't look like they have changed much over the intervening years. The lunch boxes are designed to perfectly fit into the front pocket of LL Bean's backpacks (at least, the Deluxe size that a MS or HS kid uses).... although, it fits SO perfectly that the backpack zipper has trouble closing if the backpack is full and the lunchbox is extra-stuffed. The size is good, and we use the interior pocket for plasticware. (The only thing my son has ever put in the exterior zipper pocket is his school ID and a few coins, as it is very flat.) What I was hoping that LL Bean had improved was the interior liner..... The liner has folds at the corners, so it DOES catch crumbs and other nastiness. Also, although the liner wipes clean of most things, it will stain..... I put a little cinnamon & sugar on apple slices in the kids lunches, so that the apples don't discolor. Sometimes the juice leaks out, especially if the kids don't remember to close the containers tightly for the trip home.... As a result, my son's lunchbox liner is now a mottled tan color, as even soaking the lunchbox in dishwater for a few hours does not remove the cinnamon color. Also, over the years, plastic forks and corners of containers have poked holes in the liners. LL BEAN, IF YOU READ THESE REVIEWS, PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR LUNCHBOX LINERS! IT IS THE ONE THING THAT WOULD PREVENT ME FROM BUYING ANOTHER LL BEAN LUNCHBOX! I work in a school lunchroom, so I know other companies are beginning to sell creative solutions to this problem.... Please let the next one be LL Bean :)

I take this lunch box to work everyday. LL Bean needs to add more depth to it. You can barely fit a reusable lunch container in it. I just wish LL Bean made this lunch box more salad-friendly vs sandwich friendly.

I use these for my kids, who are pre-school aged. Its perfect for them, fits a small water bottle and a few food containers. There's a slide pocket on the inside for an ice pack or utensils. The slide pocket on the outside is narrow, it can only fit napkins or utensils; it would be more useful with a gusset. The interior material is really easy to clean, the liner has no seams or corner to catch crud. Overall, its well designed and well made, but small. I would only recommend this for kids.

We purchased this in August and my son has taken it to school everyday. It still looks great and is wearing well. We do not use the outside pocket so I cannot speak to some of the reviews that state that pocket is flimsy. My only complaint is that this lunch box is not very deep. If you use a sandwich case or even put in a drink bottle, those items are about as deep as the lunch box itself. Even 1/2 in more would be good. This being so narrow is the only reason we won't purchase the same ones for our other children.

The lunchbox is well made but I wish it had the hard plastic insert to help keep its shape when filling it

I bought this lunchbox to replace my son's broken LL Bean lunchbox - the last model lasted 9 years. My only complaint is that it's a little small, particularly if you pack reusable containers. The outside pocket is perfect for a couple of items that my son needs to have with him at lunch time.

Small and looks like a kid's lunch bag (or an adult's toiletries bag).

I have have three of these lunch boxes half a school year and I am not impressed. I use the yum box lunch containers (those are great) and occasionally a plastic fork or spoon but there are holes poked all over the inside and small slices. What's more, the white interior stains easily and shows a lot of wear and tear. I'll use these until they are no longer functional but will not buy again. Three star because the outside is great. It's made of the same fabric as the backpacks, also a great product. Just a hard pass on the lunch boxes.

Meh....good quality material and daughter loves the lilac purple color but size and function are just average (sandwich container and small thermos do not fit side by side). For the price, if I were not already ordering a backpack, I would have skipped this purchase.

Not my favorite so far. No place for drink outside the lunchbox (no mesh cup holder). My grandson uses a bento box which fills the lunchbox and leaves no room for a drink container. It's also very early for a review as he has been using it for only a week.

The material was a little disappointing, I thought for L.L. Bean and the price it was a little thin. The monogramming was absolutely terrible. It was very tiny, and it was off-center.

It's definitely smaller than I thought but it's my fault for not paying more attention to the dimensions. However a Bentgo will fit but with nothing else

Too small for lunch, bottle of water and snack never mind ice pack. If you're packing a snack for a toddler it would work. Needs long strap to carry. Quality not what I would expect from LL Bean. Would not recommend
