I purchased a half size down based on the other reviews I saw…girlies, how narrow are your feet?!?! My feet are pretty narrow, and I’m usually a 7.5. I order a 7 based on everyone else’s recommendation. Returning the 7’s, and ordering a 7.5. Overall, the shoes look great. Wrong size may be effecting comfort levels, but it feels like I’m gonna have to spend a good amount of time breaking these in. Definitely not the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever owned…but I look cool, so who cares.

Great fit right out of the box - wore them straight to the market, just because. Quality is great, leather is nice and strong - my first pair of Madewell shoes, and I was unsure of what to expect. Now, I am fairly certain I will purchase the black! Oh, and the color is less orange-y, more cognac/British tan (like the vintage Coach bags).

I wanted to love these, but the left shoe was about a size bigger than the right shoe, even though they were both marked as the same size. These are very cute and very comfortable, but it is so strange that one shoe was so much bigger than the other!

Had to reorder a half size smaller and STILL they fell off my heal when I walked. Tried thicker socks and loafer socks. Neither was going to keep that shoe on. So pretty. GREAT color. But clearly a wider heal than the Elinor of years past.

Loved the color and the lug sole. Shoe did run too large by half a size. I’m returning them rather than exchanging because I need arch support and this model didn’t have any. Too bad because I did like the look of this shoe.

Shoe quality is excellent, but somehow make my feet look big. Next size down not available, sadly.

These loafers are so much more beautiful and well-crafted than I’d even hoped. They cost a little more then I’d normally spend and they are worth every extra cent. It is obvious these shoes will last me years and years as they are the type of shoes that remind me of old-school footwear, but only in the way they are built and crafted—the style is fully current-day. I was recently in Italy and these shoes look like nearly every shoe I spotted being worn by the well-dressed women of that country. Well done, Madewell and Zappos

Feel narrower than my usual size, a slight bit longer. Leather is stiff but I think it will get softer with wear. Nice shoes overall, but it is not the most comfortable loafer. I decided to go with Free People loafer which is roomier and more comfortable so returning this. For slightly narrow feet, this Madewell may fit beautifully.

These are beautiful shoes! Unfortunately, they are too narrow for me. Wish they came in a wide width.

Uncomfortable on my foot hit my ankle bone

I do not have wide feet nor do I have a prominent bone at the base of my large toe but these shoes rub horribly on the bone at the base of my large toe even when walking 100 feet causing open blisters (with and without no show socks). The shoes are SO cute I want to wear them so badly. I will try preventatively putting bandaides on those parts of my feet. Fingers crossed. They were pretty expensive so I’d expect them to be more comfortable for the price but I have worn them and feel Stuck with them.

Not sure about fit because I received two left shoes and the shoes didn't even match in color. So disappointed. I have NEVER had a problem ordering through Zappos before.

Beautiful shoe, bad feet

These are absolutely gorgeous shoes. Probably too narrow for my feet, but I desperately want to keep and wear them! Maybe just for going out where I don't have to walk much......

These were SO cute, and felt really comfortable right out of the box. The only problem was the style of the toe box is really long. I already have large feet (9.5), and these just looked ... very long. Like I was wearing slightly oversized men's shoes. They were about an inch longer than my vans, as a reference. I sadly ended up returning them.

These fit comfortably and look great on, especially the cut around the ankle.

These loafers are so comfortable and stylish.

These are gorgeous!! I’m usually between a 7 and 7.5, and went with the smaller size since that was the only size available. They are a little snug, but still comfy, and I suspect they will stretch a little. Can’t speak to blisters yet, as I haven’t taken them for a long walk.

Great leather shoe that looks very high end and feels like a comfortable slipper

High quality and super comfortable!

Exactly what I was looking for: a stouter shoe to wear with jeans and socks in cooler weather. Fits perfectly, nice cushioning and support. I have one foot that has a bump on the outside after a healed fracture. Lots of shoes hit at just the wrong spot on that bump, not these, thank goodness. Sandal season isn’t going to last forever, and when it is, I’m all set for days I just want a change from boots.

Have to return this pair, they are very long. Can't wait to receive the next pair, a half size smaller!
