Reviewed at New Balance
My husband has severe problems with his feet and is awaiting his second foot surgery. He wears specially molded inserts. These are the shoes his orthopedic surgeon recommends. (Well, New Balance in general, but we've found the ones with mesh sides don't give him enough support.) I just hope they're never discontinued, because they've kept him going for 6 or 7 years now, and when they were temporarily available we never found a substitute. We try to keep at least one new pair in the closet.

Reviewed at New Balance
I need a 6E supportive shoe with anti roll features. The 57 series is the only I've found that fits the bill. I hope they never take it off the market, or change it . If I wear shoes other than the 857, my feet, ankles and shins hurt by the end of the day.

New Balance B widths are far too wide. They are the same width as everyone else's D width. The toe box is very wide and tall. These are not for people with narrow feet.

The size and fit are good. The material seems to be a grade up from another model I'd been buying. So far I've been enjoying this shoe.

Shoes are great, excellent fit. If the new shoes wear as well as the other pair of New Balance, I will get 8 plus years out of them. My orthotics fit snug.

Great shoe!!! Only thing I want is more cushion on the insole. Should not have to buy gel insole for this quality of shoe. New Balance is a quality company.

have had the shoes for less than a week and have over 50,000 steps-i have a permanently swollen left foot and a problem with large toe on right foot:these shoes solve both problems
I'd also recommend:
have worn New Balance exclusively for over 30 years as they were the only one at the time to offer D
