One of the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn but the foam soles deteriorated after just one run and now I have bits and pieces of white foam hanging from the side of the shoe. I wouldn't buy this product again. I wish I could return the shoes or get a credit.

I'm an older guy, 200 lbs, fitness runner about 25 miles per week of running, interval training and some walking mixed in. This shoe is larger than the V11, if you need a precise fit I recommend a half size smaller. Multiple reviews on the web have also mentioned this. I ordered two sizes to try on and will return the bigger one. The v10 was too narrow, my little toes punched holes in the upper mesh. Runners complained and NB dialed it in perfectly with the v11. But they decided to tamper with it again in the new v12. Pros: If you like cushioning v12 has once again competed in the contest to see how much foam they can cram into a shoe. It's soft and plush. They fixed the weird heel counter in the v10 and v11. Fits better and the "dracula" tab that stuck up in the back and only served as a gravel trap is gone. I like the new tongue design in this shoe a lot. The previous version didn't stick up enough. Zero break in needed. I've done my second run in it, pushed it pretty hard and I feel great. Good, solid daily trainer for bigger guys not looking to looking to race. Cons: The 1080 really departed from the original design when the "Fresh Foam" moniker came out. Other than being a neutral show this has no resemblance to the 1080 of old. I've been in every version since the original. It's just a cushioned soft shoe, nothing technically special. It's a bit too cushioned..not a lot of feedback and I wouldn't recommend this for technical trails or rough surfaces. Seems like a lot of shoe between my foot bottom and the ground. The Vongo was a better shoe for feel, but I really need the extra cushioning of the 1080.
I'd also recommend:

Really nice to see more brands with real world Toe Boxes. Usually order 1/2 up and Extra wide, probably could have just ordered 1/2 up. Shoe felt great, out of the box; nice kind of cushiony. Upgraded the laces. Will see how they hold up with high mileage. A bit pricey..

I have flat feet and this shoes are working just as expected. My true size is 10 but I ordered 10.5 to have extra space at the toe and the toe box. I highly recommend 1080v12. Thank you NB

I love this shoe. However, there are two things to note: it runs a half size - maybe even a full size - too large (for me it's a half size). I wear a 9.0 standard or 9.5 standard depending on the brand. I ordered a 9.0 in this shoe. Too big. I would buy another pair and likely order an 8.5. Only my cowboy boots have an 8 in the size. No other shoe. Very strange. Second: this shoe is VERY comfortable. I could walk and run all day in them. But they are not for sprinting. Glad I don't do much of that. They very soft but not obnoxiously soft. Other than those two things, can't wait to buy my next pair. NB got it right. Only actual problem with the shoe is its sizing. COLOR: the green is NOT pastel as shown on this website. It is much closer to a lime green. I still love it but I was hoping for a mint shade when I ordered it and got "Hey look at me!" green instead.

I am an intensive care nurse, on my feet 12 plus hours per day. I am finally pain free at the end of my shift. The wide toe box provides extra room for the bunion and the midfoot support really takes the pressure off the balls of my feet. Highly recommend this shoe.

I've put hundreds of miles on versions 10 and 11 of the 1080, and I can say that version 12 is the better of the three by a considerable margin. Most of it has to do with getting rid of the god-awful "UltraHeel" but there are other subtle improvements that take the 12 to the next level. First, the Fresh Foam tuning. This is still your long haul, easy miles daily cruiser, but the compound in the 12 is slightly (really, just slightly) firmer, slightly bouncier than previous versions. I've found myself enjoying the ride far more than I expected. The Fresh Foam here is dense, substantial, and it feels durable. Second, there as been a slight improvement on the lockdown across the midfoot, which I was not expecting but it feels welcome. In versions 10 and 11, I remember often feeling like the the top and sides of my foot were irritated by the rigid structure that surrounded the midfoot cage--not quite Ultraboost midfoot cage territory, but still enough to notice. Now, I feel very well locked down without any sort of obvious bunching, pinching, or other unpleasantness. I think some of this has to do with a better heel lockdown; I'm simply not cranking the laces like I felt I had to before. But the rest of the upper has improved, too, which is commendable. Finally, the shoe just *looks* better. I love the design of this version, and it makes me want to reach for it more. The weird veiny vibe of 10 and 11 is gone, and I couldn't be happier about that. Overall, what a shoe, and what an improvement! I'm so excited to spend the summer cruising in the 1080v12.

Comfortable and plenty of room for my feet. Good cushion and stability for my bad knees. Great color selection. Would have given 5 stars, but the high price is a downer.

Had these for the past 2 weeks and just completed the Brooklyn Half. Very happy! My previous shoes (tier1 brand) were causing me constant pain on left foot/heel. With these, no pain. Love the shoes! Fit is great and very comfi. I'm 5.11, 200lbs, 53yo.

Bought these for my husband and he is obsessed. He's recently taken up running and while he is not new to the New Balance brand these were his first 1080V. According to him it's like running on air. He did size down 1/2 size from his usual size and the fit is perfect. He had them in Lemonade colour and gets SO many compliments on them.

As an event DJ I stand a lot. As a result, I've developed painful plantar fasciitis, which is inflammation of the heal and arch of the foot. Along with a fatigue mat I've tried wearing different running shoes to help cushion my foot, but, unfortunately, I was still experiencing pain. However, the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v12 was a game changer for me. This shoe feels like I'm walking on air! My foot gets the cushion it needs and my feet don't feel fatigued after standing for several hours. I also bought shoes with the wide toe box so my foot doesn't feel cramped. This is an extremely comfortable and well made running shoe. I'm definitely going to purchase a second pair! These shoes rock!

After extensive foot surgery, I started wearing the 1080v9? I've worn these exclusively with a power step pulse insert. I wasn't in love with the v11 but this new version revised the heel and that makes all the difference. The fresh foam is *chefs kiss*

I have the v11 version of this shoe which fits great. I have extra wide feet and this older version was so comfortable for me. I know people have complained about that version have an issue with the heal slipping, but I didn't experience that. Regardless, I decided to give v12 a try. As the v11, I purchased the extra wide size. It is much more snug than v11. So much so, that my feet feel sore after a run. I've gone back to using my comfy v11 shoe.

I use this product for marathon running training. They has been great for speed, long or runs. Run true to size and have great mileage to them. This is my third pair of 1080s and I will be back for another soon.

I have Metatarsalgia in one foot, and these New Ballance 1080's are some of the only shoes that consistently work for me. I add in an aftermarket insole with a met pad, and they are the most comfortable thing I have found.

I replaced the standard laces with elastic laces and it was very difficult to thread the laces, and the holes are very small.A minor problem.
