I am getting ready to send them back. I tried them on and within a minute I determined that they are too tight across my metatarsal area. I have narrow heels so I can't wear a wider size. I have several pairs of Keen's and love them. I was in The Garage this summer and tried them on making sure to buy the right size. It was determined that for a shoe I should wear a 9.5. For flip-flops just a 9. So I am disappointed that they don't fit. One of the things I like about Keen shoes is the wide toe box. This model the toe box seems small.

My feet are hard to fit - narrow heal. high arch and arthritic toes that are shaped like a duck. I cant tell you how many shoes have been returned, or taken to Good Will. These were wonderful from the start and I walked 2 miles the day after I got them. No slip with padded heal, the sturdy but flexible material on top doesnt press on the arthritic areas, and there is plenty of room in the toe box with the Keen toe guard that prevents tearing. Besides all that they are lightweight and cute as can be. To me the rounded toe makes a shoe look less like a giant clodhopper as some athletic shoes do. I own a lot of Keen shoes but these are the first walking shoes Ive tried. What took me so long!!!

Fit was great - the shape of the shoe is perfect BUT the rocker heel hurts my knees. A normal heel or even one with a little heel-toe drop would be idea.

Bought this in my usual size (7.5) and per the size chart measurements but they felt a half size too small- pressure on the toe area. Had to return them. since they were out of stock with Zappos, ordered a size 8 from another seller and the size 8 fit more comfortably.

What has Keen done to the arch support in their shoes? I own many pairs of Keen shoes and boots, some of which are getting pretty old, so when I saw these, I was smitten. HOWEVER, I've come to realize that not all Keen are created equally, or maybe I should say, created as in the days gone by. The arch support that I came to love and need seems as though it no longer exists from this brand. The past three styles that I have tried on are all the same - moderate arch at best. Unfortunate, because they look pretty good for a hiking shoe.

Keens, in general, have been my go to brand when I need the comfort of a generous toe box. The NXIS looked great. There seemed to be some added support and a good heel cup from the insoles. How sad and disappointed I was to find the toe box was small and too tight! Back into the Elsa with my own inserts.....and I am happy to have found them.
