They are my 2nd pair, the first was too big and I returned. Order a half size down for proper length, moving on: I bought these several weeks ago in preparation for an Alaska trip in May where I will hike, but don't want to take boots in my luggage. I wanted to give myself time to break them in... Ha! They didn't need it. I love these hiking shoes. I was a little concerned about my ankles being exposed to the little pieces of debri that pop up on a trail and get stuck in your socks or fall into the shoe causing prickly itch. I usually where boots to avoid this problem. The extra sole that extrudes on either side of the heel seems to be deflecting the debri. I don't know if that was intended or if they are there for added support but works for both - bonus!

I thought at first that these shoes would be too narrow and hurt my bunion however they are comfortable to wear so far. I normally wear an 8 1/2 in a running shoe but after reviews I sized down and got an 8. the size 8 is a perfect fit. I wear a size 9 in my merrill hiking shoes for reference.

Salomon trainers seem to suit my feet and I find them more comfortable than any other make.

These are a great shoe, and I wanted to love them. I wore the shoe around the house for over an hour. I liked the feel, but my foot was just swimming around in the toe box. I know from experience with the brand, sizing down to a 10.5 would not have given me enough space for my toes. So I gave up and sent them back. Definitely a better model than some I've worn lately. Not sure how the gortex and tread will hold up though over time. As most of my shoes from Salomon start to wear out around 250 mile of daily hiking on a variety of terrain. I hike 6-8 miles daily.

I purchased these shoes not knowing anything about them and I am very happy I did. A friend recommended them to me. I simply went on line to see what was available and liked the way the shoes looked and the features they offered.

Super comfy, but the reason I bought them was not only for the water resistance but to hopefully keep sand out of my shoes on the dog agility course. The water proofing kept my feet dry but didn't keep the sand out, oh well.

I slipped on pavers, fell on my back. It's hard to my sole, feels like no cushioning. The waterproofing works.

This is my second pair of Salomon trail running shoes that I have tried. In both cases, the shoe runs narrow. Sadly, I've had to return both of the shoes.
