These are not waterproof nor do they have Gore-Tex. The description here on Zappos is wrong.

The shoe fits well on my foot. It is also good for the hiking trips. And it is good for everyday use. However, the durability is questionable. The insole is already falling apart, and there are signs on the shoe that it wears fast. The tongue slides down on the outside of the foot. I have had to sew it tight as it irritated my foot that it slipped down all the time. Not buying again.

I got these for my high school aged son and he loves them! This is his second pair! The drawback is this pair is not waterproof, and that was not easy to ascertain from the website.

I am between a 9.5 and 10. Most shoes I wear a 10. In this shoe, I needed to exchange for a 9.5 and the fit is great.

I have the Salomon X shoes and have gone through 3 pairs. I wanted a cooler pair for the summer and these are great. I will buy them again.

Wore these for a seven mile hike with the dog right out of the box. Very comfortable, good fit and no blisters or rubbing. They are lightweight but feel substantial, if that makes sense...lol. Very good shoe and I like the color.

Product is of the same quality that other Salomon ones are, however, I've always worn US size 11 (EU 45) on other Salomon shoes and boots, so that's what I ordered here. Yet when I tried them on, they definitely seemed between a size and half a size to big, but I was leaving on a trip the next day and had already thrown my old pair out, so I kept them. Over the trip I wore them every day, great support, grip, and comfy, but confirmed they were too big. No idea if this was a quality control issue or this design. Luckily, my younger brother is about half a size larger than me so the shoes won't go to waste :). Ordered a second pair, hopefully this pair will fit.

I've been wearing these for a about a month for just about everything... walking all over the city, to the office, to the gym, riding bikes with the kids, walking the dog, easy trail hiking... They are great for my feet which are narrow, low volume, with big long toes. Through the heel and arch the shoes are narrow, perfectly snug for my foot. And then get wider in the toe box for my long toes to spread out. The shoe is stiff and stable, but not so much that they feel constraining for casual wear. They have a firm, responsive and supportive feel, as opposed to an ultra-cushioned feel. The sole is grippy, with deep lugs that feel confident on dirt or asphalt or a bike pedal. The minor quirks are: - The insole moves around a little bit inside the shoe. Doesn't really cause an issue, and not noticeable when wearing. hoping it doesn't become an issue. this same thing is actually happening on a different pair of salomon shoes i have right now also. - The is no loop on the tongue for the laces to go through and keep the tongue in place. It slides off to the side a little bit if the shoe is not tied tightly. Weird issue to have considering how carefully salomon constructs the tongue and laces on their quicklace shoes. Overall I'm very happy with these.

These are pretty decent shoes for moderate trail and day hikes. They have some grip and support without being too much. They have a simple, low profile silhouette, so they can also be worn off trail without looking too clunky.

The OUTPULSE Men's Hiking Shoes are a highly impressive pair of shoes designed for outdoor enthusiasts who value comfort, performance, and sustainability. The shoes feature multiple innovative technologies such as the Fuze Foam compound, Reverse Camber midsole, and Energy Blade Outdoor, which work together to provide premium energy return, cushioning, and a smooth and fluid stride. The shoes are built to withstand unpredictable conditions with an All Terrain Contagrip outsole that provides excellent grip and durability on any surface. The full rubber toe cap enhances protection while the synthetic upper material and textile lining offer superior durability, breathability, and comfort. The SensiFit upper construction ensures a secure, snug, and virtually customized fit all around the foot, while the OrthoLite die-cut sock liner provides superior cushioning, breathability, and durability, upgrading the comfort and performance of the footwear. Furthermore, the shoes are PFC-free, ensuring minimal environmental impact. Overall, the OUTPULSE Men's Hiking Shoes are an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts who want a high-performance, comfortable, and sustainable pair of shoes. The only drawback is the regular lacing system with eyelets, which some people might find less convenient than other lacing systems. Therefore, I give the OUTPULSE Men's Hiking Shoes a four-star rating.

Bought about a month ago as I like the GTX version I have been wearing. Shoe is comfortable and I like the look of it for work or play. Only downside is the tongue in this non-GTX shoe slides to one side on occasion. Other than that, it is a great shoe.

I have had these shoes for six months and am very happy with them. Great fit and so have no issues with the tongue. They have also held up very well. They do have a wider tie box than the running shoes which is nice. Very stable great traction. Highly recommend them for walking.

The Salomon brand fits me very well. I have tried a lot of different shoes and this is my favorite. It seems more durable as far as sole wear than many of the other Salomon shoes I have tried. Yes the tongue sliding to the side is a problem that could be fixed if they use an attached tongue like they do with other models. I use this walking on the road and on trails and am happy with both situations.

I bought these shoes for my husband. He really loves the feel but they are less than one month old and have already developed a hole on the front right toe area.
