This is a nice 3 layer Gore-Tex jacket at a good price. Sizing dictates you actually try one on. The guide says I should be a medium (5'10" 165 lbs), but with any kind of layering a medium was too tight for me in the pits and shoulders. I bought the large, which is a little big in the body and long in the sleeves as just a rain jacket, but fits really well with a fleece jacket or something similar underneath. I use shells like this year round with layers as needed. I can't wear heavy insulated jackets in the cold, I overheat too much (especially skiing).

Only worn it a few times in the rain but so far does a great job repelling water. Comfortable fit.

I wore this coat on a 2.5 hour walk through steady rain and it kept me completely dry. No leaking at any seams. With hood and front zippered all the way, it kept me dry even when walking into the wind/rain. It is very lightweight and great for traveling; I carry it in the saddlebag on my bike. It's great in warm weather with a light shirt underneath or in the cold with a heavier layer underneath. I'm 6'3" with 35/36 arm length, and the tall, large fits just great. High marks for this coat--it's my favorite for birding in the rain!

Heavy duty shell. I bought this to go adventuring in Maine in the winter. I climbed two 4000' mountains through snow an below zero conditions. The jacket was just what I needed.

I'm out in Canada two months of the year and need a wicked good rain coat. This goes beyond what you could ever want. Don't let the price tag deter you. If you want complete protection from the elements, this is the jacket for you. True to size, nice zip breast pocket, Velcro at the sleeves, awesome hood that has a bit of a visor, and a draw/ cinch string to gather at the waist. Can use for a windbreaker as well. Got caught in some heavy rain last week and was completely dry, and warm. Also has pit vets which are nice to have to cool you off.

Hoping that a bit o' wax on the main zip will make it less recalcitrant...otherwise this is a solid lightweight all-weather shell. OK Ullr, plz send us moar SNOWWW soon so I can continue to test this jac out! Hood fits OK if minorly tight over my bulky Atomic ski helmet.

It fits the purposes perfectly. Excellent quality. Surprisingly I have received many compliments. The one downside is that my daughter saw it and really liked, so I have keep track of where it is either by using some type of gps tag for clothes or keeping it under lock and key. And she especially loves the color. Never disappointed by the items that I have purchased from LL Bean and the way that they stand behind everything that they sell.

Our son lives in Oregon, reknown for its rainy weather. He asked for a gore-tex rain jacket for his birthday. I was so happy to find this one! He's 6'5" and it is hard to find clothes that fit. I ordered a Tall Medium in black and it fit perfectly! He's very happy with it!

Purchased this jacket in preparation for an upcoming trip to Antarctica. Need a jacket that would protect from the wind and rain but would be light. The jacket will fill that need. Well constructed.

I never thought, or wanted to replace my 30+ year old LLBean Mountain Guide Gore-Tex XCR jacket...but it happened when I purchased this Pathfinder Gore-Tex jacket. There is no doubt this is the best rain jacket, tested it by layering it with fleeces/down jackets underneath at 12,000 feet above timberline in the Colorado Rockcies at -30- degrees to the blistering cold to the bone northestern winds of the Atlantic, raining in a downpour/or raining sideways in a 6 hour hike and I am completely dry. Skiing/cross country skiing without sweating inside, breathes extremely well. Plenty of pockets, love the adjustable cuffs, hood, zippers under the arm pits to thermally ventilate, fits awesome with the tailored fit. Don't kid yourself with other so called rainproof materials, Gore-tex is the best rain proof material, how do I know it.....the US military uses it. Best looking jacket out there. You can spend less money for cheaper/alternative materials or you can buy something that will last over 30 years. Job well done LLBean.

It arrived, and is exactly as described. I'm a "person of lateral extent," and the XXL fits perfectly, thanks to the adjustable sleeve cuffs, despite the "slightly fitted" description.
