Fit is great and love the material. Very comfortable. I can see why people don't like the belt though. The buckle is a pain and the fixed design creates a crease when tightened down. Two things I would add as well. Make the rear pockets somewhat deeper with velcro flaps for added security and put thigh pockets on both legs.

I have the previous version and came to order some more and I'm reading all the reviews about how the new version nobody likes so I don't feel I can even give them a try with all the negative comments. Guess I'll look for comparable characteristics in a diff brand.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the old version. I have owned 10 pairs of the old ones and wear them daily (going all the way back to when they were available in long). The BEST pants that I have ever owned. They were perfect in fit and durability. The newer version doesn't fit as well (tighter) and the belt limits wear options. If you bring back the old version, I will by 10 more pairs to last for the next 5 years.

These newer pants are not nearly as well made or designed as the previous Arch Rock pant.

I have to agree with the reviewer who mentioned that pocket design is problematic. I love the fabric of these pants, and based on the features - articulated knees, gusseted, one zip pocket for valuables - I thought they would be awesome. But, there is something not right with how they fit, even though waist size is perfect they pockets are always slightly pulled open and feels like there is not quite enough room. Add to that the pockets are not deep enough, and just a ten minute car ride my cell phone was falling out of the pocket.
I don't keep anything in my pockets when hiking, all my stuff goes into the backpack, but for driving and around town I'd expect pants to work at least as well as a pair of jeans which these unfortunately do not.

These pants are made of very thin material, making them excellent for summer use and hiking. They are too light for shoulder seasons or any colder weather.

I was going to order two pairs today. The belt was a bad change. I have been a fan of the Arch Rock short and pants. I ordered the shorts prior to summer this year. They are already donated. Now I got to find a new pant and short. Do not change the Zephyr short. Still love all my Marmot gear, please bring back the Arch Rock shorts and pants.

Material feels great and pants are quality made. However, legs are slimmer than I like which restricts my movement.

Just purchased and returned 2 pair. I own 6 pair of Arch Rock Pants so I thought I knew what I was getting. Style and sizing changed. Elastic waist? No belt loops? Sewn in fake belt? Size 30 that fit me for years now fits small? What have you done to my favorite pants? Why not at least give an option and call them Rock Pants Classic?

The old design was legendary. The clip just doesn't do it for me or anyone and I can say on behalf of the whole marmot community please bring the old design back.

I own 3 pairs of the previous version. They used to be amazing and I have recommended them to all my friends. Needing to buy more, I ordered 2 pairs of the new ones thinking they would be better. Nope! Outdoors pants without a beltloop? HOWWW? Useless.

Please go back to the original design without the belt. I have had over 6 pairs of these pants and recently they changed and now include a belt. You had an excellent product. I use it for daily wear and hiking. I am now looking for a different manufacturer. Why changes were made no idea. I have been buying these pants since 2014. Also beef up the zipper some. I have 5 pairs left and have gone to tailor to have new zippers installed the rest of the pants continue to hold up. Please bring back the original design and no belt.

Bought these to supplement my Marmot "Verde" pants which are no longer made (or out-of-season). These "Arch Rock" pants fit good allowing freedom of movement - that easily earns them two stars. Unfortunately, the pockets are useless. Both side pockets and zippered pant pocket are too small and everything falls out when you sit down (glasses, coins, breath mints, everything) - and if you want to fit your phone, forget it. Synopsis: If you don't value what's in your pockets, you'll be fine.

I have several pairs of the previous version of these pants, and I love them. The incorporated belt is a poor choice. I have one pair of the new style and wear them strictly around the house. They are uncomfortable and do not sit well. The previous style with the belt loops are comfortable and I wear a belt that suits me well.

Please bring back the old version. It had a great fit. The new version of the same size has a completely different fit and cut. It is a completely different pant. Why not nake it its own product and bring back the original Arch Rock pant. The original was perfection.

As noted by many, the pants have a serious flaw- Pockets are tiny and without a proper slant, that you run the risk of losing anything in it ie keys, phones. Barring this, the pants would have been great

I have 4 pairs of the older version. This new version is terrible. Belt is worthless. Updated version is junk. Marmot always seems to ruin really good products when they improve them.

Please bring back the old version without the integrated belt and slightly less tight fit. The old version are my favorite pair of pants and after at least 5 years maybe 8 or 9 are starting to fall apart. I've been stitching and patching them back together but would love to buy several new pairs to replace them, but not with the altered design. I get what you where going for with the new design but you've completely changed an existing and well loved product such that it no longer captures what we so enjoyed about the previous design. Perhaps the new design would be better suited as a different model but please restore the Arch Rock Pants to their previous glory!

Like many others here I'm a huge fan of the previous version, It's my everyday wear and adventure pant. I have many pairs. I tried the new version and the built in belt really limits the utility as a everyday wear pant and gets in the way of the pack belt.

Please get rid of the belt.
The old style was a lot better, it was really nice comfortable pant.
The belt really seems to limit the use of these.

Please bring back old design. I've been buying these for years. Ordered a two pairs recently, opened the package and saw the built in belt. Didn't even try them on. Requested a return. If it works, don't change it.

Love the old design, have every color, just read you changed it and added a built in belt, really disappointed, I wanted to order more pairs, would rate the old design a 5

I have been buying the Arch Rock pants and shorts for years. Always my favorite.
I was extremely disappointed to receive my latest order and realized you have completely changed the design. The fit is much tighter and the built in belt is awful. One of the pair came as the old design but three others are the new.
It took me years to find the perfect pants/shorts for work and I buy several new pairs a year.
Why wouldn't you just make the new design be a different pant? Why would you change a good thing? The regular belt loops and button closure were much better than the built in belt and snap closure. I wear these for work and the stretch waistband and built in belt look too casual/recreational. I see a need for them, but just don't get why you would make the change on a pant/shirt you have been selling for many years.
According to other reviews, it seems like I'm not the only one unhappy with the change.
I did not keep them long enough to actually determine if they were good pants. They simply didn't fit the same. Much more snug. They may be decent pants. Just not happy with the change on style or fit.
