Good grip on bigger rocks. They did give me a few hotspots, but i can attribute that to not breaking in completely. They are heavy shoes whoch afford protection but add to weight. Overall i like them!

Theres a reason why I specifically purchase Merrell shoes; however, these were a disappointment. I buy these for work since Im constantly on my feet, and the arch support is unbeatable. Yet within the span of a year the mesh is torn in multiple places on both shoes.

This is a great shoe! I've been wearing Moabs as my everyday wear for years. It is comfortable, durable and great for changing surfaces and terrains. I go from work to trails and they are always the best choice.

Listed as same size and wide with as my original and great Moab 3s but have a lot more room for some reason. Need the medium or thick (better) Icebreaker socks to go with them. Nice, comfy, & supportive. Now quite used to and happy with the new Moab 3 Wide Width. Cheers!

Good grippy sole, nice deep and wide shoe for orthotics. I find the top is soft and not as structured and no ability to lock the heel, which makes it a good shoe for level ground and not hills so much.

The shoes fit very well, amazingly in fact! But there's no cushion, and I need a little.

I wear these shoes just to walk my dogs around town and on the walking trails we have here. I have flat feet and I dont have to put my arch supports in these because they already have such good support. I can walk over an hour in these shoes and my feet still feel good. I even wear them around the house and they are lightweight and comfortable. I highly recommend them.

It is amazing such a nice shoe has such absolutely crappy shoelaces. I am 68 years old and for the first time in my life since possibly I was 2 years old The shoes won't stay tied. Unbelievable. Once again very nice shoe. Very crappy shoelaces. Shame

Shoe is very good quality and fits extremely well. It is a little harder than I would have liked so maybe a different model/style next time.

I just bought a pair of these from Amazon. Though they look like venilators they are slightly different on the toe. The black rubbery piece on the toe is much smaller and there is a piece of suade that that runs a long the sides creates a bump right on top of my small toe, eliminating just enough width to make them uncomfortable. This strip of swade, used to be on top of a strip of suade that comes down from the laces. Now it is under that piece, which is also bigger and bulkier too. So sad. Been wearing these for more than 15 years and I usually buy 1 or 2 pairs a year!

A great shoe for adventuring and working outside. My feet tend to get a little too warm in them, but in return they are very tough and made from heavy duty materials compared to a lot of shoes. They are on the bulky side, but again, they're built like a tank. I have almost 1000 miles on mine, and the only reason I bought another pair of shoes was to find something that is cooler in the summertime. These are still a go to for many things!

My only complaint is that the insoles have overly aggressive arches which made them a no-go for me. I have a narrow foot with "normal" arches and these were just too high and rigid to the point of being uncomfortable. Otherwise, a really well constructed shoe with gorgeous colors and surprisingly lightweight for all the support and heft of the lug. If you have "normal" arches these might not be right for you.

I've purchased Moab 2s for years. I always had to insert a more comfortable insole to make them bearable. The Moab 3 eliminates this vexing issue. They're a *lot* more comfortable than expected and no additional insole is necessary. In short, the perfect shoe.

These our my 4th pair of Merrels. I wear them until the tread falls off! I have old feet with planta faucitis and these Moab's keep my feet healthy and feeling good. As soon as I got them, we were off on our adventure through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. I only wear and use products that can keep up with me, or they hit the trash can. Merrels are still with me and I think they will be for a while.

I've been wearing MOABs for almost 20 years. The original was the best and there was no need to change it. The MOAB 2 was not quite as comfortable from the git-go, but they broke in OK. The MOAB 3 seems even less comfortable at the start, but maybe they'll break in. Merrell seems to be trying to make their shoes less harmful to the environment so they get points for that and for offering a 12.5 size - but there's no need to sacrifice comfort.

There was another reviewer who found the size 8 seemed larger than previously ordered Merrells, and the arch was too far back. When I first put these on, I would have said I agree. However, I wore them a couple times on longer 5 - 6 km walks, and they seemed to mold perfectly to my feet. I am really liking the fit now. Really sturdy well made shoes!

I haven't had them for long but they fit to size. I use orthotics and they slip in well.

Poor SupportGreat Support
I've bought several Merrell Moab hiking shoes over the years, 9-1/2 medium (except the latest pair wide due to a bunion). They give me the support and gripping soles I need for safety. The round laces are attractive, hold well, and actually outlast the shoes - but being slippery they need to be double-tied, and the laces for my latest two pairs are so short a double-tie is difficult. Please bring back the longer laces used years ago!
